This is my 1984 Jaguar XJ6 sedan. This is a dry ARIZONA car which has never seen midwest salt or snow. This is probably one of the cleanest, best-preserved Series III Jaguars you will find for sale. I have a soft spot in my heart for these beautiful Series III XJ6 cars. These are the prettiest and most modern of all antique cars, in my opinion. It has beautiful timeless looks, old-world charm and construction, and modern chassis and driving dynamics. This car has all the space of a full-size sedan, yet it drives nimbly like a sports car. The luxuries and features are impressive, yet the car is economical to drive and parts are readily available. This Jag has the following equipment and options:
This is a clean, quiet, comfortable, great-driving, reliable example of the classic Jaguar sedan. I don't know where you would find a better example that someone wasn't asking a fortune for. The paint is in very good condition and the car shines beautifully. This paint is gorgeous and the body is straight, clean and totally solid. As mentioned, this is a rust-free Arizona car that hasn't been exposed to salt or snow. This car is clean and looks beautiful- be prepared to answer questions about the car every time you fill up with gas. People love this car! The interior of this Jag is in great condition. The carpets have been covered with fitted floor mats literally since new. I only took the floor mats out to take the pictures. Consequently, the carpets show basically no wear- it is hard to believe how excellent these carpets are. The floor mats are included (not pictured). The seats were reupholstered years ago and have held up quite well. The interior is clean and superbly well-kept for the age. This car runs and drives very well. This car drives exceptionally nicely. The engine is smooth and powerful with no ticks, clatter or abnormal noises. The engine makes great power and doesn't smoke or hesitate. The transmission shifts well. The driving dynamics are excellent- this car handles outstandingly well, with no suspension noises or clunks and a tight, controlled ride. The brakes stop well and the steering is tight and precise. You cannot imagine how well this car drives for a 30-year old car. The sunroof works perfectly, all the gauges work and the power mirrors work properly. The car does not overheat. There are no known mechanical problems and this car is a dependable, reliable cruiser. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere, including a long trip. This car is a 1984 and as such it is not brand new. I am not trying to present this as a perfect 100-pt car, but rather as a very clean, very presentable, reliable car you can drive and enjoy. Please expect normal issues of wear and tear consistent with the age of the car. Here is a full list of known defects, no matter how small: The cruise control doesn't work. There are small exterior faults and flaws such as small scratches, light dings, chips, marks, etc. There are cracks in the vinyl trim around the shifter bezel and center console. There are a few oil drips on the garage floor. When I was wiping down the interior for the photos yesterday, I accidentally locked the right rear door and now I can't get it unlocked or back open. The power window on that door also doesn't work; the other three do. When starting the car cold or if it has been sitting a while, it works best to let the electric fuel pump run for 20 seconds or so before starting. The trip computer doesn't seem to be displaying properly. The metal clip which holds the center cap "Growler" emblem on the right front wheel is broken. The passenger sun visor is missing. The power antenna stays up. The wipers work slowly or sometimes not at all. The right front tire was replaced recently and it is a slightly smaller size- that's the only tire the shop had in stock. There is a fabric cover on the dash, which has a few cracks. There is a split in one seam at the outside edge of the rear seat. I have tried to be as comprehensive as possible in noting flaws and faults. You can fly in to Cleveland (CLE) and drive this car home. Alternatively you can have the car shipped- please call Angels Moving Autos at 530-245-0481 for a shipping quote. Questions, please email or call/text John at 440-339-4341. |

Jaguar XFR-S pitted against Mercedes E63 AMG
Wed, 21 Aug 2013It was Steve Sutcliffe at Autocar who got the tough job of comparing the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG to the limited edition Jaguar XFR-S on the track and sheep-strewn British B-roads. In UK spec both Mephistophelean sedans wrangle the same 542 horsepower, but step out of the corral and things look to weigh heavily in the Mercedes' favor: it has more torque, it's lighter, it's quicker from 0-to-60 and it's less expensive.
But that's on paper. Sutcliffe was given the job to see what effect all those letters and numbers had on the real-world driving experience. One of them is "an absolute hoot at the track" with great steering and weight management, one is "magnificent." To find out which is which, watch the video below.
Jaguar ousts Lexus from atop J.D. Power 2013 Sales Satisfaction Index
Mon, 18 Nov 2013Jaguar has taken the top spot among luxury brands in the 2013 Sales Satisfaction Index, an annual survey conducted by J.D. Power that measures customer satisfaction with the experience of purchasing a new vehicle. The English brand, not even among the top three luxury automakers on the list last year, vaulted ahead of Lexus, which placed third this year after leading the list in 2011 and 2012. Porsche, meanwhile, moved into second place.
The rankings are based on a point score out of 1,000, with Jaguar earning 740 points, Porsche right behind with 739 and Lexus with 737. Volvo, meanwhile, made the biggest improvement among luxury brands with a 30-point jump to 708, bring it up from 11th place to 9th this year.
J.D. Power has a separate ranking for mass-market brands, and this year Mini again tops the list with a score of 718, far outpacing second-place Buick with a score of 694 and making it the fourth time Mini has lead this list. After Buick, the next two ranked brands are both American and both from General Motors, with Chevrolet and GMC sharing third place with a score of 686.
2016 Jaguar F-Type debuts available manual transmission, AWD
Wed, 19 Nov 2014If you're like us, you fell in the deepest, darkest sort of love with Jaguar's F-Type the moment its voluptuous form first surfaced. The car's full-bodied engine specs only furthered our ardor, and the droptop Jag sealed the deal before we even turned a wheel - all it took was hearing its engine bark to life.
And yet, even after driving the original convertible and the subsequent coupe, we've never quite shaken the notion that Jaguar erred a bit too heavily on the Grand Touring side of the equation for a proper sports car. That's partially because even the base model comes with a boatload of weight-adding luxury features. But perhaps more importantly, it's because the F-Type has only been available with an automatic transmission. Admittedly, the gearbox in question is a damned good paddle-shifted eight-speed ZF unit, but it's always chafed a bit that Jaguar wasn't committed to offering purists a manual - even if such a model would never be a high-volume proposition.
Apparently we weren't the only ones bothered by three-pedal omission. According to Russ Varney, F-Type Vehicle Program Director,
