1982 Jaguar Xj6 V8 Conversion Blue on 2040-cars
Knoxville, Tennessee, United States
This stunning car has been well cared all its life and is in great
condition. It was professionally
converted to a Chevrolet 350ci 5.7L V8 crate motor with a turbo 350
transmission. A lot has been spent on restoration. It has new paint, a new transmission, new AC
compressor, recent interior w/ headliner, a new cd player w/usb port, new brake
master, new exhaust, battery, lots of new belts, seals and new shocks all
around. Everything works including all gauges and switches. Burled walnut dash is original and
perfect. Tires are Michelin MXv4’s and
are 8 months old. The wheels are OEM
Jaguar and were an option on XJ6’s. All
glass is perfect – no cracks or chips. Factory sunroof works great. All
fluids recently changed. Original owners
manual and tools present. I inherited this
car from my father-in-law and have been using as a daily driver. It starts
right up, glides down the road beautifully and draws attention wherever I
go. I am selling to pursue a more family
friendly vehicle. I should note that
there is a small ding on the hood where a technician closed it on a tool and there are a couple cracks in the driver seat. The Series III Jaguar XJ6 has been called the
most beautiful four door ever built.
This is a great opportunity to have one you can truly use and enjoy. Call 865-661-1718 with questions.

Dick Van Dyke escapes his flaming Jaguar on the 101
Wed, 21 Aug 2013Actor Dick Van Dyke was caught in a dangerous situation on a Los Angeles highway (who are we kidding, every situation on an LA highway is dangerous), when his Jaguar XJ spontaneously caught fire. The 87-year-old actor/comedian pulled to the side and attempted to call emergency services when another motorist pulled him from the car. There seems to be some confusion as to whether Van Dyke was passed out or merely calling emergency services.
According to the photos and video from NBC and The Today Show, the car was thoroughly cooked in the blaze and is now a total loss. After the incident, Van Dyke's wife, Arlene, posted that the actor was "fine," sharing a Vine video of the star, the car, and a few CHP troopers that were on hand. Later in the day, Van Dyke tweeted a photo of his toasted sedan, saying, "Used Jag for sale REAL CHEAP!!"
You can view the Today show segment on the incident as well as Arlene Van Dyke's Vine video, below.
Jos? Mourinho shares his fear in Jaguar F-Type R Coupe spot
Fri, 09 May 2014Jaguar is in the middle of an image makeover. It wants people to know that it makes more than just big, comfy luxury cars. Underneath that there is an edge. In its recent ads, the company wants to be associated with a more tailored, witty form of villainy. The next step is showing that it's also fearless.
Many Americans might not be familiar with José Mourinho, but he's one of the premier soccer, or football, coaches in the world. He's nicknamed "The Special One." Mourinho worked his way up from an assistant coach to lead small teams but eventually took over international heavyweights like Real Madrid and Chelsea.
In a new ad for the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, Mourinho talks about what it means to be afraid. You might think such successful people overcome their fears, but successful men are driven it, he claims. But being scared doesn't make a man weak - it makes him dangerous. Scroll down to understand what Mourinho is talking about and get an earful from the wonderful exhaust of the R Coupe.
Jaguar XK to cease production this summer
Mon, 10 Mar 2014With the introduction of the F-Type coupe and convertible, Jaguar has cleared room in its sports car lineup to drop the XK for new models. "There will be a 2015 model year XK, but the rumors are true, production for the XK will end later this year after eight years," said Wayne York Kung, Jaguar USA National Product Communications Manager, in an email to Autoblog. A replacement for the GT might be a very long way off.
The automaker told Auto Express that it's part of a "wider strategic vision and product planning cycle." Ending assembly will allow the feline luxury brand to build better-selling vehicles like the XE, its upcoming BMW 3 Series fighter. The new sedan is scheduled to go on sale in Europe in 2015 and in the US in 2016. It also needs to make room for the C-X17 crossover to be built, which is likely expected to sell better than a 2+2 GT car.
"There are no immediate plans to replace the XK," said Kung in his email. Jag was rumored to be considering moving a future generation of it upmarket. The new model would have been a bigger, softer grand tourer and allow the F-Type to be the brand's more hardcore sports car.
