Well-maintained and much loved! - Only 96K Miles!!

This 1980 Jaguar XJ-6 Series III is one of the most handsome Jaguar sedans to come from Coventry. This very graceful design is complimented by a luxurious and most comfortable interior. Finished in Damson Red with original biscuit leather interior, this car has been lovingly and diligently cared for and attended to when needed. Always garaged, this car is housed in Scottsdale, Arizona, and is being sold for a change of scenery.

In very nice condition throughout, this fully equipped vehicle includes fuel injection, electronic ignition, automatic climate control with separate rear controls, cruise control, air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power steering and power brakes. Additional options include an adjustable steering wheel, adjustable lumbar support front seats, sunroof, rear window de-fog, and a power antenna. The exterior is rust free, and relatively ding free. There is no damage evident on this vehicle. All of the chrome and stainless steel trim is bright and in very good condition. The leather upholstery and matched wood veneer interior is extra clean; never smoked in, and very well kept. The dashboard and gauge cluster is clear and functioning. Under the hood is stock and original and has been well maintained.

The 1980 Jaguar XJ6 Series III was called the most refined XJ to date. The Series III retained the 4.2-liter straight-six engine and four-wheel independent suspension of the original XJ6 models, plus the fuel injection and electronic ignition that was introduced on late-model XJ6 Series II cars sold in the U.S. The body styling was done by Carrozzeria Pininfarina, which incorporated a steeper windshield, increased rear headroom, flush door handles, and increased sound insulation.

This 1980 Jaguar XJ6 Series III is a rare example of motoring excellence from a bygone era. These cars are about as comfortable and luxurious as anything ever made, as this car literally floats down the road like riding on air. You are sure to enjoy this car like I have, and each owner before me!

Jaguar opens new engine plant in the UK

Thu, 30 Oct 2014

The heads of Jaguar Land Rover are having a busy couple of weeks opening factories. Just days after inaugurating the company's first overseas plant in China, the automaker's new Engine Manufacturing Center in the UK is being inaugurated, as well. The plant near Wolverhampton, England, marks the first time in decades that JLR is building its own powerplants in-house. Further signaling the importance of this launch for the business, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were on hand and even tweeted about it.
The factory's first major project is to build JLR's latest Ingenium four-cylinders, starting with the 2.0-liter diesel version. "Our new Engine Manufacturing Centre is an important step in advancing the competitiveness and capability of the UK automotive sector. The production of in-house engines will support the expansion of the UK supply chain providing critical mass for inward investment," said Trevor Leeks, plant operations director in the automaker's announcement.
Opening the doors to the Engine Manufacturing Center has been years in the making for JLR. The plant was first announced in September 2011 and broke ground in June 2012. Building it cost the company 500 million pounds ($800 million) and created 1,400 new jobs. Of course, being a state-of-the-art factory, considerations were made to make the place as energy efficient as possible. That meant installing the UK's largest solar array with 21,000 panels to produce about 30 percent of the site's electricity needs.

Wacky Jaguar crossover mule is a mind-blowing mashup

Tue, 03 Dec 2013

As Jaguar prepares to introduce its first-ever utility vehicle, our spy shooters have captured this jacked-up XF mule out testing. While a production Jaguar crossover will surely resemble something closer to the recent C-X17 Concept, we can't help but think that the automaker could sell at least a few of these lifted, four-wheel-drive sedans.
Other than proving that Jaguar is hard at work developing this new model using a cobbled-together body, there are some details we can put together about this luxury CUV. For one it's about the same length as an XF, while the ride height is obviously taller and the tire track wider. We're not sure what the rig on top of this mule is for, but the whole car has us reminiscing about the old sedan versions of the Subaru Outback and the AMC Eagle (with a luxury spin, of course).

Jaguar C-X17 rides high into Frankfurt

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

After enviously watching its competitors rake in piles of crossover-shaped dollars for years, Jaguar is poised to get into the game with a production model based on this C-X17 concept. While the British brand hasn't officially confirmed it will sell a utility vehicle - indeed, brand fans and industry watchers have wondered whether the Leaping Cat even need to get into the game considering its corporate cousins at Land Rover - we would be dumbfounded if it didn't happen in short order.
We've always been concerned that Jaguar's styling language wouldn't translate well to a high-riding shape, but here at its Frankfurt Motor Show debut, the C-X17 comes off as quite handsome (if predictable) in the metal. The same couldn't always be said of Jag's styling DNA, but newer models beginning with the XF and the XJ have introduced design elements like a larger, more vertical grille that suit the C-X17's form factor exceedingly well. Even the rear end successfully borrows its taillamp design from the glorious new F-Type Roadster.
Underneath the concept's two-box shape is a new aluminum unibody that Jag says it is poised to employ on its next-generation models, including the long-expected midsize sedan coming to North America in 2016. Jaguar has long been a leader in aluminum chassis development even as it has struggled to take weight out of some of its vehicles (the F-Type, for instance, isn't exactly lightweight). Thus far, Jaguar isn't talking powertrains other than to say it will employ a new generation of gas and diesel engines.
