2000 Jaguar Vanden Plas Vp Xj8 Sc Sedan 4-door 4.0l Engine With 58k On It! on 2040-cars
Raleigh, North Carolina, United States
Selling our absolutely beautiful 2000 Sea Foam Green Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas to pay for a car for our son to go to college. This car has been in our family since it was purchased. It has tan leather interior, new tires plus a new spare, and we just replaced the water pump. It got a new engine at 90,000 and currently has 148,000 miles, which means it ONLY HAS 58,000 MILES ON THE NEW ENGINE! Instead of listing all the specs, just got to cars dot com (ebay doesn't allow clickable links anymore ) and type in Jaguar Vanden Plas 2000 and it will give you all of the awesome specs! A great matched set of new tires were put on approximately 4k miles ago, so they have tons of life left! The car
runs, drives and handles just like a Jag with only 148k miles would. This is not a college student's car, though, and that's really the only reason we're selling it. Too beautiful to sit on a college campus parking lot! The car is located in Raleigh, NC and we're happy to help you arrange shipping or to come and look at it. Please email questions and I'll answer them promptly. We're not giving it away, so no ridiculous offers please. We've got plenty of time to sell it. Please ask as many questions as needed. |

Jaguar sculpture by RCA design students is a minimal beauty
Fri, 24 May 2013With its well-deserved reputation for high design, it is not particularly surprising to see Jaguar reaching outside of the automotive realm for future inspiration. To that end, the British automaker recently enlisted the talents of students at the Royal College of Art to create a piece of forward-looking, automotive-inspired sculpture.
The result of this project can be seen above; a sculpture created by RCA students Claire Miller and Ewan Gallimore, and unveiled to a small audience to kick off London's Clerkenwell Design Week. The spare and rather elegant form created by the talented pair absolutely harkens back to coupes from Jaguar's past as well as its present (read: F-Type) without aping any one model particularly.
In a press release, the artists had this to say about the work: "Our form relates to the Jaguar brand through its sculptural volumes, bespoke materials and visual lightness. These elements helped us to create a sculpture that aimed to display a seamless transition between interior and exterior space." Get a better look at the Jaguar artwork in the gallery above, or read through the press release, which follows.
Stolen Jaguar E-Type reunited with owner after 46 years
Mon, 22 Sep 2014Barely six months into owning it, Ivan Schneider had his Jaguar E-Type stolen from outside of his Manhattan apartment in 1968. Now, 46 years later, the somewhat beat-up convertible has been recovered just before it was about to be shipped to a new owner in The Netherlands.
US Customs agents at the Port of Los Angeles found the car during a routine check, and they contacted Schneider to arrange returning it to him. When the feds found it, the E-Type was already in a shipping container ready to go to its new owner. The condition is hardly perfect today, including rough paint and a replacement door, but Schneider is ecstatic to get his classic back.
Understandably, the now 82-year-old never thought he would see his droptop Jaguar again. Schneider told the LA Times that he bought the E-Type for $5,000 after winning a case as a lawyer, and it was originally painted gray. Now, he plans to have to have the vintage convertible restored to its former glory in New York.
Jaguar builds F-Type to support Tour de France team [w/video]
Tue, 22 Jul 2014The Tour de France is typically a two-wheeled affair, dominated by cyclists yearning to capture the prestigious yellow jersey. While the 2014 event winds its way through Europe, Stage 20 will see an altogether different conveyance wind along the route between Bergerac and Périgueux - the Jaguar F-Type Coupe.
As part of its partnership with the British cyclists of Team Sky, Jag has enlisted its new Special Operations division to build a one-off F-Type Coupe, based on the 550-horsepower, supercharged R model.
SpecOps has removed the rear glass and come up with a creative solution to mount a pair of Team Sky's racing cycles in the back. Aside from that upgrade, the cabin boasts new upholstery in the colors of Team Sky's traditional livery. A separate power supply has been established below the bikes in what's left of the trunk, which provides juice for a set of radios and microphones, so that the team's director can communicate with the riders.
