For sale is my 2005 Jaguar S-Type with 155,000 miles.  It was purchased from the Jaguar dealership at 38,000 miles.

Exterior - Noticeable scratches and an area by the fuel door where the paint has come off completely. It has an invisible bra on the front and all 4 factory rims. Pictures show car with 20" chrome rims.

Interior - Kept clean aside from the interior roof. On several occasions, I left the sunroof raised which caused damaged to the lining; therefore I took it off completely. I spoke with a guy that stated he could repair for $400 but after the compressor went out again, my desire to move forward with this was non-existent.

Mechanical - No air but heat works. I live in SC which is very humid so during the summer, my ac is normally operating at full capacity. The compressor first went out in July 2012 so I had the local Jaguar dealership install a new one with a price tag of $1800. The very next summer (2013), the compressor went out again which I thought was strange so I believe the dealership either 1) didn't install it properly  or 2) installed a used/refurbished compressor. I called them immediately and they stated the warranty was only for a year and I was outside the warranty by a month. I refused to install another compressor and parked. The Restricted Performance" light is also laminated when you first start driving the car. After a few minutes, it goes off. Since I question the credibility of the local jaguar dealership, I took it to Firestone to run a diagnostic check. Based on the code revealed, I let them fix it; however, t the light is still laminated and I haven't taken it back. This light is associated with the check engine light. And lastly since the car has been parked, it sputters when it is first started. My brother suggests spark plugs but I'm not sure. I do know that this wasn't an issue before I parked it.

Collisions - None but I was involved in an incident. There had been an accident and we were traveling by going less than 30 mph. The car behind me tapped me in the back. The only damage was all the paint was gone on my bumper. There was no dents or dings but I filed a report to ensure my car would be painted promptly.

For me, this has been a good car but definitely getting older. I commuted  to work an hour each way for 5 years and this car never put me down. Partly because I never abused it and always took caring for it seriously. And don't let the name fool you. This car is not expensive to maintain. For example, the compressor I replaced was a Ford product and the wiper blades  motor I replaced also fit a Lincoln.

I have revealed everything I've experienced with this car which is reflected in the price. Any questions, please ask.

Jaguar takes bite out of Mercedes' Magic Body Control chicken ad

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

We were quite impressed by Mercedes-Benz when it aired its Magic Body Control commercial, starring a group suitably funky chickens demonstrating their ability to jive to Diana Ross and the Supremes. Now, Jaguar has taken the opportunity to poke some fun at its German rival, releasing its own take on the Magic Body Control spot, and um, there's a big cat involved.
You'll really want to take a look at this video, which is just another sign that in terms of clever ads, Jaguar is doing quite well. We aren't sure if "Jaguar vs. Chicken" will make it onto TV any time soon, but it's still fun to see the British brand take the mickey out of Mercedes - it's rare to see automakers go after each other so bluntly in their marketing efforts. Scroll down to watch the video (we've also included a bonus video, Jag's recent "Cat In A Box" spot).

Jaguar opens new engine plant in the UK

Thu, 30 Oct 2014

The heads of Jaguar Land Rover are having a busy couple of weeks opening factories. Just days after inaugurating the company's first overseas plant in China, the automaker's new Engine Manufacturing Center in the UK is being inaugurated, as well. The plant near Wolverhampton, England, marks the first time in decades that JLR is building its own powerplants in-house. Further signaling the importance of this launch for the business, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were on hand and even tweeted about it.
The factory's first major project is to build JLR's latest Ingenium four-cylinders, starting with the 2.0-liter diesel version. "Our new Engine Manufacturing Centre is an important step in advancing the competitiveness and capability of the UK automotive sector. The production of in-house engines will support the expansion of the UK supply chain providing critical mass for inward investment," said Trevor Leeks, plant operations director in the automaker's announcement.
Opening the doors to the Engine Manufacturing Center has been years in the making for JLR. The plant was first announced in September 2011 and broke ground in June 2012. Building it cost the company 500 million pounds ($800 million) and created 1,400 new jobs. Of course, being a state-of-the-art factory, considerations were made to make the place as energy efficient as possible. That meant installing the UK's largest solar array with 21,000 panels to produce about 30 percent of the site's electricity needs.
