You are looking at a 2012 Elantra GLS with the preffered Package. It has all the standards like power windows, door locks, keyless entry, Traction Control, Cruise Control, Telescopic and tilting steering wheel, but also has the upgraded 16" Alloy rims, the Steering Wheel audio controls, Bluetooth hands-free phone system with voice recoginition, sliding center armrest, illuminated vanity mirrors, and foglights. Included are the embossed Elantra floor mats for the front and back seats as well as the carpetted mat for the trunk. There is the cargo net, cargo tray, and rear bumper protector. We are including the iPod cable and we also got the mud guards on all four tires. The tires were replaced with brand new all-weather tires less then 3000 miles ago. We added a Viper remote car starter that will allow you to start the car, unlock and lock the doors, and pop the trunk from up to 2000 feet away. This remote start system will also give you confirmation that the car is started and lock status anywhere within range. The Radio has an AM/FM/CD player with the XM tuner already on-board and iPod integration. All the controls for the radio are also located on the steering wheel for easier use. The back seat has a fold down armrest and the rear seats fold down for more storage. The front seat area has the sliding center rest for better comfort. The car is in like new condition. We have all manuals, two keys, the original keyless entry transmitters, two of the Viper transmitters, and even the original window sticker. This car has never seen an accident or even a door ding. 2009 Hyundai Genesis under investigation for brake problems
Mon, 21 Oct 2013According to The Detroit News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched an investigation into 40,000 Hyundai Genesis sedans due to reports of brake problems. All of the vehicles in this probe are from the 2009 model year.
NHTSA has reportedly received 23 complaints from owners citing increased brake pedal travel and reduced braking power, with one of the incidents resulting in a crash. The Detroit News reports that, in another incident, the Genesis driver responded to the lack of brake effectiveness by applying the parking brake, which caused the vehicle to lose control and go into a spin. Many of the complaints indicate that this problem was simply diagnosed as a faulty ABS module.
In a statement to The News, Hyundai said it is fully cooperating with NHTSA on this investigation. An official recall may occur, depending on the results of the government agency's findings.
Sonata, Elantra driving down Hyundai quality scores
Wed, 26 Feb 2014Hyundai was the butt of many jokes in the auto industry when it first entered the US market, but since then, it has forged ahead and built cars that stand with the best in their respective segments. The 2011 Sonata and 2011 Elantra were seen as the apotheosis of the brand's forward progress when they were introduced, but falling J.D. Power and Associates Dependability Study results may actually cause them to hurt the company's hard-earned reputation.
J.D Power's study examines three-year-old vehicles for problems per 100 vehicles. Since the 2011 study for 2008 model year cars, Hyundai has fallen from 10th overall with 132 problems to 27th in the 2014 survey of 2011 model year vehicles with 169 problems. It was also Hyundai's second consecutive year of an increase in reported problems. According to Automotive News, many of these problems are due to faults with the Sonata and Elantra, but J.D. Power didn't identify specifically what issues caused Hyundai's dependability to tumble so far down the list. However, the study found that, on average, reliability fell throughout the industry for the first time since 1998.
Getting the Sonata and Elantra right are vital to Hyundai. In 2013, they were the company's best-selling cars. "We'll be closely going through the data to see where improvements need to be made. Hyundai's goal is nothing short of quality leadership, and the report shows we have work to do," Hyundai spokesperson Jim Trainor said in an email to Autoblog.
Hyundai and Kia recalling 1.6M more models for faulty brake switch
Wed, 03 Apr 2013In what is likely the largest recall campaign for Hyundai and Kia, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a recall of more than 1.6 million models due to a faulty brake switch. This is in addition to almost 700,000 Hyundai and Kia models recalled for the same problem back in 2009.
In more than 620,000 Kia models and 1 million Hyundai products for the 2007 through 2011 model years, the brake switch could malfunction causing the brake lights to not illuminate, which could lead to accident. Other possible issues with a faulty switch include the cruise control not cancelling with the brake pedal, the push-button starter not working properly and the shift interlock not disengaging causing the transmission to be stuck in Park. To fix the problem, the brake lights switch will be replaced.
Due to the large number of units being recalled, both automakers are issuing a notice by next month with parts not expected to be ready until June. The full list of affected vehicles and the NHTSA press releases are posted below.
