2008 Hummer H3 4x4 White on 2040-cars
Birmingham, Alabama, United States
we bought this Hummer from the dealer after it was turned in from a lease with 5103 miles on it. We are the second owner of the vehicle. My daughter has driven this vehicle since we purchased it on 8-19-2010. It has never been wrecked nor has it had any kind of body damage. As you can see from the pictures it is in great condition. It is white exterior with black and beige interior. We purchased some custom wheels and tires. The wheels are MOTO METAL wheels (2500.00 wheels and tires). The tires are still approx. 75 % good. Everything else about the vehicle is original manufacturers equipment. We paid $27,000 for the vehicle when we bought it. It has been garaged day one inside. The vehicle was bought new in GA and I had it delivered to Alabama upon purchase. It has Sirus Radio, 4wd, AC, AM / FM stero, CD, Cruise Control, Power locks, Power windows, Traction control, ABS brakes, Automatic Transmission, Overhead airbags, Power mirrors, rear defrost, moonroof, estimated mileage 18 MPG, 6 cylinder, 3.7 litre engine, 242 horsepower, current mileage is 38,906. We also purchased the rear exterior tire cover which is custom white to match the car. The paint is excellent, the interior is excellent with no tears. There is a small scratch on the back door the size of a piece of pencil lead approx. 1/8 inch long. There are some VERY small lite scratches on the driver door handle from her keys when she open the door. These can most likely be buffed out with no issues. Vehicle has been detailed and also just been serviced. I put a new battery in vehicle two weeks ago at service. It runs and drives great. We have changed the oil every 5,000 miles. At one point several months ago we notice a water leak in the garage, We took to Hummer dealer and they replaced water pump, it had just started to leak. We have never had in shop for anything else. Everything works on the vehicle. It needs nothing. Kelly Blue Book places a value on this vehicle at $22,893.00. I am listing with no reserve, but I am also listing with other online sources like Craig's list, so I reserve the right to withdraw this listing if I sell it on another site. Buyer will pay for delivery / shipping to your destination. A $500 deposit is required within 24 hours of purchase. Balance to be paid upon delivery by cash or certified funds. The vehicle is paid for and free and clear of any liens. We are motivated to sell. If you have any questions please feel free to call me at Terry 256-504-3288.

Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes
Thu, 10 May 2012When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.
Team Miller Fisher finishes the 20th Anniversary Rallye A"icha des Gazelles
Thu, 01 Apr 2010Team Miller Fisher finishes the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles - Click above for high-res image gallery
Team Miller Fisher has crossed the finish line of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles - in a Hummer H3 driven off a Parisian dealer's lot - and battled from 51st to 12th out of 98 teams after a mistake on the first leg. The Rallye Aïcha, a six-stage trek through the desert, allows no use of GPS, no pace notes, no cell phones, and no binoculars. Pilots and co-pilots find their way between checkpoints with maps, compasses and pencils, and whoever completes the journey in the shortest distance, wins.
The race was made even harder this year by using not the 1:100,000-scale maps of years past, but scraps of paper with increasingly less route information as the race went on. Olympic skier and co-pilot Wendy Fisher wrote to say, "This continues to be the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. An unbelievably tough event. Days were SO long, almost impossible to get all of the checkpoints."
Humvee reborn on the battlefield... with a chimney?!
Fri, 09 Dec 2011The military's High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), better known to most of us as the Humvee, has already served a long and distinguished career in the battlefield, and there have been a number of replacements waiting in the wings to take over where the HMMWV left off. Or, should we say, leaves off... assuming that ever happens.
It seems that the Humvee is set to get a new lease on life as military budget constraints are forcing the government to reconsider its replacement. But there are still some pesky safety issues to work out before American soldiers will feel comfortable inside the confines of the off-road box on wheels.
As you're likely aware, improvised explosive devices are an ever-increasing threat to the lives of American troops serving overseas. The Humvee, which traces its design all the way back to the year 1984 when it first saw duty as a replacement for the long-running series of military Jeeps, has seen a number of incarnations over the years that added armor and improved safety, but the latest version may feature something hitherto unseen: a chimney.
