I purchased this truck in the fall of 2009.  This is my 3rd H1 and I spent the better part of a year trying to find this truck.  When I purchased the truck it had around 17,000 and change on the odometer.

Here is the history as I understand it:

December 2004 title issued in Tampa, FL.  It spent about 6 months there before being purchased at an auto auction by a dealer in May of 2005 with 7,600 miles on it.

In July 2005 the truck was purchased by Paris Chevrolet/Cadillac on behalf of a gentleman around Paris, TX.  He owned the truck up until I purchased it in October 2009 and kept it on his ranch in Texas, putting around 10,000 miles on it.

Since purchased by me, I have added the following:

  • Stage 3 Big Duck Lift by Rubber Duck--this is a 5" lift comprised of a 2" body lift and 3" suspension lift.  Cost on the kit is $2495
  • Dick Cepek Adustable shocks (4)--Cost $1380
  • Rubber Duck Tree Hugger Brushguard-$1250
  • Light bar with lights-$825
  • Rubber Duck Step Bumper with Lights-$1610
  • Warn Winch Kit-Cost $2464
  • Snow plow front springs (replaced with suspension lift)-Cost $390
  • Cargo Liner-$175
  • Kenwood Head Unit--Think this was around $400?
  • I purchased 4 of the Alpha style wheels and had them powder coated-$1200
  • I purchased 4 Yokohama Geolander 40" tires--approx. $1200
  • Scangauge II-Cost $160

None of the above includes the cost of installation--guessing around $3,000 wrapped up there.

I think the photos will speak for themselves.  If you are wanting a hummer that looks the way a real hummer should, and not dressed up with some 20" ghetto wheels, and ready to go the distance then this truck is for you.  It is just getting broke in.

In the interest of full disclosure I took it to an off road park once, and climbed some hills, but careful not to rash up the exterior--and never in the mud or abused in any way since I have had it.  There were no signs of abuse when I purchased the truck, or I would not have bought it.  I consider the paint to be in excellent condition for a 10 year old truck.

Everything on the truck functions as it should including the CTIS system.

The only issues that I am aware of:

  • There is one rust spot on the drivers rear fender that is smaller than a dime.  See the photo.
  • The roof has a few spots where kayaks weren't snugged down well enough on the roof rack and scuffed the paint.
I do NOT have to sell the truck.  I just don't drive it much and could use the $$ for something else.  I'm sorry, but have no interest in trades, or in any offers below the starting bid.  If you have questions don't hesitate to message, and I would be glad to take any additional photos.  Of course you are welcome to come inspect the truck.  Thanks for looking!

A couple of additional thoughts/comments:  The truck has 40's on it with approximately half tread.  With this lift kit you can put 42" or even 43" tires on the truck.  I was just waiting for this set to wear out before I stepped it up another 2".  I have the bulkhead for the truck--its just not pictured.

Team Miller Fisher finishes the 20th Anniversary Rallye A"icha des Gazelles

Team Miller Fisher finishes the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles - Click above for high-res image gallery
Team Miller Fisher has crossed the finish line of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles - in a Hummer H3 driven off a Parisian dealer's lot - and battled from 51st to 12th out of 98 teams after a mistake on the first leg. The Rallye Aïcha, a six-stage trek through the desert, allows no use of GPS, no pace notes, no cell phones, and no binoculars. Pilots and co-pilots find their way between checkpoints with maps, compasses and pencils, and whoever completes the journey in the shortest distance, wins.
The race was made even harder this year by using not the 1:100,000-scale maps of years past, but scraps of paper with increasingly less route information as the race went on. Olympic skier and co-pilot Wendy Fisher wrote to say, "This continues to be the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. An unbelievably tough event. Days were SO long, almost impossible to get all of the checkpoints."

Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes

Thu, 10 May 2012

When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.

Canadian man saves four kids with Hummer [w/video]

Sat, 08 Sep 2012

A quick-thinking driver in Canada put his own life on the line last month when he drove his Hummer H3 in front of a distracted driver to save four children. Darrell Krushelnicki, 46, of Taber, Alberta, saw a car about to speed through an intersection. Four kids, whose ages ranged from three to 16 years old, were in the in the crosswalk, so Krushelnicki pulled his truck in front of a silver Pontiac Pursuit (known as the Pontiac G5 in the U.S.) to prevent them from being hit.
The identity of the other driver is unknown, but the news report says the 23-year-old male was talking on his cell phone while traveling around 80 kilometers per hour (close to 50 miles per hour) in a 30 kph speed zone (less than 20 mph). Thankfully, nobody was hurt, and while there's no word as to whether the distracted driver was ticketed, police say that they're recommending Krushelnicki for an award.
For additional details, check out the news video, which we've posted below.
