2001 HUMMER H1 HMCS WAGON
Main Photo
You are bidding on the highly desirable H1 HMCS Wagon. The original list price was $108,033. This is not a show truck nor is it in perfect condition. If you are looking for a pampered H1 please keep looking and take notice to the price differences. If you are looking for an H1 to get the job done and save a few bucks, Congratulations! You’ve found it. It is currently driven as a daily driver. Everything is fully functional with exception of the CTIS system. The inflation hubs have been removed for ease of maintenance costs and ride comfort; however, the air pump and plumbing for it is still fully functional. The factory CTIS system is very hard to balance and trust me; you do not want to deal with that on the trail if you puncture a tire. This vehicle gets a tremendous amount of attention no matter where it goes, on road or off. This beast is equipped with fully functional KC Lighting that makes the dark of night look like day. Upgraded LED lighting for all turn signals, brake lights, and marker lenses. The Pioneer touchscreen navigation also powers two amplified 10” JL Audio subs mounted under the rear seats with MB Quart mids and highs. This vehicle has four working Alpine screens mounted throughout it but I honestly have never used them because they need new audio wiring. The 6.5 Turbo Diesel and 4L80E transmission runs exceptionally well and has been well maintained. The 12,000lb winch also works flawless. It has factory Hummer leather and keyless entry. Feel free to message me with any questions or concerns as this is an AS-IS purchase with no warranty. I have nothing to hide on this truck. I will warn you that it is extremely large (pics do not do it justice) and you must drive it with two hands on the wheel. It reminds me of driving a tractor except for it runs 80mph down the interstate. Let’s just say that people will get out of your way.

AM General to offer civilian Humvee kit car

Thu, 02 Aug 2012

For anyone feeling nostalgic about the passing of the Hummer brand, or the actual wartime vehicle that inspired it, now is your chance to own a version of the original HMMWV, albeit without an engine.
After a 12-year hiatus from the civilian vehicle market, AM General is reportedly set to offer a kit-car of the C-Series Humvee. The kit will conform to U.S. government regulations and has been made possible by a deal with General Motors.
The kit costs $59,000 - and you still need an engine. A likely favorite would be a Duramax Diesel V8 and Allison transmission combination, as was found on the H1 Alpha. AM General estimates that an owner could buy the kit Humvee and outfit a powerplant and transmission for $75,000. Not bad, considering that H1 Alpha has an MSRP of $140,000 in 2005.

Lynch Hummer dealership in Chesterfield, Missouri - Click above for image gallery
You've heard of art imitating life? Well how about life imitating war? That's another story entirely, but not so far fetched when it comes to the Hummer. The sport-'ute that met the public eye during Operation Desert Storm has all but completely gone through its entire life cycle in the intervening years: first as a military-only vehicle, the original model became available to the public, then GM bought the rights and started churning out pickup-based H2s and H3s, the U.S. armed forces went back Iraq, the original H1 was discontinued and now GM is preparing to wind down the brand entirely. But not before one last pistol-shootin' hoorah, courtesy of the one dealership that arguably sees the truck for what it is more than any other: Lynch Hummer.
The St. Louis-area franchise made headlines last year when they started filling their emptying showroom with gun racks, selling firearms to make up for dwindling sales in the gigantic SUVs. Now the dealership is connecting the dots with a one-of-a-kind promotion: Buy a Hummer, get a free shotgun.

Canadian man saves four kids with Hummer [w/video]

Sat, 08 Sep 2012

A quick-thinking driver in Canada put his own life on the line last month when he drove his Hummer H3 in front of a distracted driver to save four children. Darrell Krushelnicki, 46, of Taber, Alberta, saw a car about to speed through an intersection. Four kids, whose ages ranged from three to 16 years old, were in the in the crosswalk, so Krushelnicki pulled his truck in front of a silver Pontiac Pursuit (known as the Pontiac G5 in the U.S.) to prevent them from being hit.
The identity of the other driver is unknown, but the news report says the 23-year-old male was talking on his cell phone while traveling around 80 kilometers per hour (close to 50 miles per hour) in a 30 kph speed zone (less than 20 mph). Thankfully, nobody was hurt, and while there's no word as to whether the distracted driver was ticketed, police say that they're recommending Krushelnicki for an award.
For additional details, check out the news video, which we've posted below.
