North Hollywood, California, United States
FOR SALE by OWNER:
2010 HONDA INSIGHT LX * HYBRID- Great 40 + + mpg (I avg. 40-43 mpg, sometimes as good as 47) * 39K Highway Miles * dark grey/charcoal grey color * 4-cyl Hybrid VTEC 1.3 L * Front Wheel Drive * Automatic CVT Transmission * ABS 4-wheel Brakes * Keyless Entry * Cold A/C * Power door locks * Steel Wheels * Side Air Bags * Head Curtain Air Bags * Dual Front Air Bags * AM/FM/CD/MP3 * No accidents, no major repairs, good Carfax ALSO HAS: * Tinted windows (legal) done in 2013 * Bluetooth Hands-Free System installed * New Rain gutters as per Honda recall, done 2013 Low mileage car, all highway miles, runs like a champ, clean in & out. Fun to drive, which is why I chose this over the Prius. It's more peppy and responsive. Well-cared for, washed and detailed regularly, regular oil changes, most done at the dealership with the special synthetic blend for Honda hybrids. Only time this car was ever serviced out of the dealership was for 1 or 2 oil changes, and to replace a headlight bulb. Guessing tires have about 50% tread left. Brakes around 50%. Some small scratches on the rear bumper from loading items in and out of the trunk, and regular wear and tear with a few road and curb scratches would be the only reason not to rate this car a 10 out of 10. I rate it a 8.5 or 9, overall excellent condition mechanically and cosmetically. Paint shines and sparkles. Never smoked in, no pets. Rarely had rear passengers, 2 front seats were protected by seat covers until the photos were taken here, so interior is excellent. A nice California commuter car with a long life ahead of it. I do have a modest and fair reserve on this. Please do feel free to call if any questions, or if you live in the Los Angeles area and want to see and drive the car. 818-625-3659 |

Honda Civic poised to get new Earth Dreams engines
Mon, 24 Jun 2013When Honda executed its emergency refresh of the Civic for 2013, it didn't do any massive powertrain reworking. But that doesn't mean new things aren't already in the works for Honda's compact. According to Automotive News, Honda has confirmed that it will offer the Civic with a new Earth Dreams powerplant sometime in the future, though details on timing and exactly what sort of engine are unclear as of this writing.
The confirmation comes from Honda's executive vice president and regional director for North America, Tetsuo Iwamura, who says that the Earth Dreams engine will come when the Civic is re-engineered or redesigned, not during a refresh. There is also no mention of whether these changes will apply to just the standard Civic, or if the Si and Hybrid models will receive some Dreamy new tech, as well.
The entire Earth Dreams group of technologies encompasses more than just naturally aspirated engines with direct injection. A turbo-diesel engine is also part of this suite, as are new continuously variable transmissions and new gasoline-electric hybrid powerplants. Honda launched its 2.4-liter and 3.5-liter Earth Dreams engines in the redesigned 2013 Accord.
Honda NM4 concept motorcycles channel Akira
Fri, 21 Mar 2014Honda has rolled out a pair of new motorcycle concepts at the Osaka Motorcycle Show in its home market of Japan, and they're our first glimpse at the company's "neo-futuristic" NM4. Shown in both stealthy black and an eye-catching white, the NM4s are sharp creations that feature interesting riding positions.
Honda calls the concepts' seating "the cockpit position," claiming that it unifies bike with rider. We don't know about that, but we will admit that compared to most sportbike seats - which are more or less just bits of padding to squeeze between your legs - these bikes' saddles look more or less like conventional seats. Honda says that their backrests are adjustable, which should provide a comfortable riding experience. Still, with these bikes' sporting looks, we can't imagine their low seats are going to be great for dipping knees through the bends (although the should lower the center of gravity, so perhaps it's a wash).
Both show bikes, NM4-01 and NM4-02, are powered by 745-cc, two-cylinder engines, while dual-clutch transmissions are employed to dispatch unspecified amounts of power to their wide rear tires. The bikes are nearly identical save for different colors, but the NM4-02 features an integral set of hard panniers for increased utility. We've got a gallery of both, so hop up above and take a look. You can also scroll down for a brief press release from Honda.
Petition to bring Honda Civic Type R to US picking up steam
Mon, 10 Mar 2014Never mind what the executives say - we've had a sneaking suspicion all along that the upcoming Honda Civic Type R won't be coming to North America. And with good reason: both the prototype we drove in Japan and the concept unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show last week were based on the European-spec Civic hatchback - not to mention that some of the best hot hatches remain out of our reach.
Well it turns out we're not the only ones with that concern. There are legions of Honda hot hatch enthusiasts right here in the good old U S of A who want to see the new Civic Type R ripping up the Great American Road. And many of them are taking to the cyberclouds demanding that Honda bring it Stateside, post haste.
As of the time of writing, this online petition has gotten over 6,000 digital signatures, needing less than 1,500 more to get to the author's target of 7,500 votes. Of course, if and when the petition reaches its target, that still won't mean that Honda will bring it over, but it could mean that extra bit of encouragement the Japanese automaker's executives would need to tip the scales in our favor.
