Up for your consideration is this Beautiful 2008 Mugen Honda Civic Si.

Before you read any further I want to be upfront with you, this car does have a Salvage title - that being said, a salvage title is just that - a title.

This car drives as if it were new, and looks new as well. I often get questions/comments such as: "Nice Car - did you just buy that?" or "Is that this year or next years model?" or "What color is your car? That looks great!". I even met a guy who had his mom and fiance turn their car around so he could step out and take a look at the Mugen as it was the second one he'd ever seen and knew just how rare and exclusive these cars are. I would not be looking to part ways with this car but I'm in a cash-flow business, so... some things must go to help me progress in business. In no way do I need to sell this car, but the cash being freed up would help me out. I will not give this car away. I had this car for sale last fall and did not receive what I feel is fair for the car, and here we are a year and 15k miles later.

***Please note the first 3 pictures are from the original ad a year ago - as you can see by the original tires. The steering wheel appears upside down in photo's as I had the wheel turned for a tire tread picture. Keep in mind that any pictures showing an abnormality in the paint are just reflections, aside from the very last 2 pictures- but they are outlined in red. Also, please expect the mileage to go up, please inquire before committing for the exact mileage prior to agreement.

To answer some questions or concerns any serious buyer might have:

Q: Is there any frame damage?

A: The frame is true and straight and was properly repaired. No uneven tire wear or road noise.

Q: What kind of damage did this vehicle sustain to receive a Salvage Title?

A: This Car was hit by another car on the front passenger side - the brunt of the damage was in the front passenger corner panel.

Q: How many owners were there of this car?

A: True owners = 2. The vehicle left the factory and was sold to a Dealer in Missouri, the Dealer sold it to the first owner, The first owner had this vehicle for it's first 3k miles sadly before another vehicle hit it. Then a rebuild/repair shop purchased the car at an auto auction in Missouri and brought it back to the Twin Cities to bring it back to life. They added roughly another 1k miles before I purchased the car and added the remaining 30k mileage.

Q: Is there any uneven or un-level body lines or panels?

A: No.

Q: Is there any rust on this vehicle?

A: No.

Q: Are there any imperfections to the exterior of the car?

A: There are 2 paint imperfections, as one might expect, they are not distracting unless you look for them. They are pictured in the last 2 pictures. A body detail shop will be able to fix imperfections fairly cheap if the new owner desires. There is also a small pressure crack in the carbon fiber hood, it's not through the surface, and doesn't pose any issues. There is also a 1" triangle chip in the plastic beneath the windshield wipers (This doesn't affect anything - this is a part any salvage yard should have, if not find it here on ebay.) Email me if you'd like close up pictures of these spots.

Q: Are there any imperfections to the interior of the car?

A: There are a couple minor imperfections. There is a small hole in the passenger rear door panel - this can be seen in the picture showing the rear passenger cab. There was a small tear in the headliner, which is covered with Honda/Mugen decals (this is on the passenger side).

Q: Are there any odd engine or transmission sounds/problems? How about odd Road Noise?

A: No, The car is mechanically sound, no issues, no road noise.

Q: Is the steering loose on this car? Does anything feel loose or improper?

A: No, The steering is tight and smooth - you will be amazed and impressed at how well this car handles. Everything is tight and true on this car - remember, "salvage title" - the car is great.

Q: Are there any warning lights, or sensors on?

A: There are 2 lights for the passenger airbags that come on but, these are just sensors and can be turned off by a dealer, or you can send your chipboard to someone online as I've seen here on ebay and elsewhere as well. Express shipping included for roughly $50.

Q: Have the airbags deployed? If so, have they been replaced?

A: I believe the passenger airbags deployed, and yes they were all replaced.

Q: Is there any curb rash to those extremely rare Mugen Wheels?

A: There is some light abrasions on the outer lip of the rim of at 1 of the wheels, nothing harsh and no gouges - again, this is something a detail shop will be able to address for a small fee (not very noticeable). Also, one wheel does have a surface scrape inside due to poor handling during repair.

Q: I see you have a carbon fiber hood - is the original hood included?

A: Yes, The original hood is included - there are no dents on the original hood, there are a couple small surface scratches though.

Q: Are those all genuine Mugen parts on the car?

A: Yes, all parts are original or direct mugen replacements.

Q: Is all original equipment included that was original from the dealership?

A: Yes, right on down to the Honda Owner's Manual - which does include the code for the radio if you decide to take the battery out. (This recently happened to me, I was delighted to see the original code.) Yes, the wheel key is included as well.

Q: What kind of fuel or oil have you used with the car?

A: Premium Fuel, 91 or 93 Octane depending on Gas station - Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil with K&N Oil Filters. (I have many fuel receipts as proof too, small business write-off while travelling for business.)

Q: What is the book value of this car?

A: With the current mileage, Kelly Blue Book values this car at $22,000-$24,000.

***A few small upgrades that were done, which I believe made this car look better without going over the top, are: A Vented Carbon Fiber Hood, Red 3-piece Type R Badges (Front Grille, Steering Wheel, Trunk), Brake Calipers were painted Heat Resistant Red, Car was also Professionally Undercoated, That's it!

The car has had routine maintenance performed on time and properly. In the 3 years of ownership I've put on 30K issue-free miles. This car was never driven in the winter, and stored properly during the cold months. Yes, believe it or not, there has been no Cold Air Intake or any other performance modification done to this car. As Much as I'd like to put a Skunk 2 Intake on, I realized the only way to do it properly would be to purchase a Hondata ECU and have it dyno-tuned. Trust me, you will want to do this properly if you plan on doing so as I've seen on YT and talked to a local performance shop about doing so - this is also where I recently had the alignment done. I can provide documentation of this and proof of the tires as well.

The car does feature some nice perks such as Direct Connection for IPOD, Power Sunroof with visor to shut the sunlight out on hot summer days, Power Windows, Power Locks, Honda Alarm system, Keyless Entry, Keyless Trunk Entry, 6 Speed Manual Transmission, FWD, Carbon Fiber hood, Mugen Aero Kit, Rear Diffuser (Just the rear diffuser, not even the rear bumper, just the diffuser sells here on ebay for $1,150+!!!) Bucket Seats, Alloy Pedals, Aluminum Mugen Racing Wheels (These are rare and are valued at $800 a rim if you can find them!...) Weighted Alloy Shift knob, Mugen Sport/Racing Suspension etc. This car will not let you forget what you are driving, as it says Mugen everywhere.

The oil is due for a change in about 1,500 miles - I will have this done just before the new owner comes to pick the car up. The car is turn-key ready, needs nothing but a new loving owner.  There is a lot to cover in selling a car online, and I want you to feel comfortable in making the purchase. I will have no problems taking a walk around video or more photos for seriously interested parties.

If you have any questions, please ask as much as possible before you purchase. If you would like to see more pictures, please email me.

Please be prepared to pay before you make an offer or use the Buy-It-Now option. Some of you may not be able to get financing due to the title of the car. A $500 PayPal Deposit is due within 24 hours so that I know you are serious - this will go towards the sale price of the car. I will only accept Cash or Certified Bank Check, and the Check must clear my bank before your title is released. Note: I will not send the car off without the bank verifying your check, or myself or the bank using a validator pen on the currency - there's just too many scams out there today. Please have a plan in place on how you'd like to pick the car up.  There is a Lien on the title of the car, I can pay this car off right now and have the title, but as stated, I'm in a cash-flow business. I will give the buyer the signed off title if the buyer is able to pick the vehicle M-F 8:30am-5:00pm or Sat. 9-12pm. Otherwise I can offer a bill of sale with a copy of my DL. etc. until the Certified Bank Check clears or when the next business day is available I will have the title mailed via certified mail through USPS.

Do not let yourself pass this car up, as finding a better deal just won't happen. I know what this is, you know what it is - KBB books one in this condition for 22k-24k. Offering this one for sale at $16,279 - there is a reason I'm asking what I'm asking. This car looks and drives so nice, so nice that I will keep it if it doesn't sell for what I'd like. There is no way by driving or looking at this car that you would ever know it has a salvage title. I've owned other vehicles that had non-salvage titles that drove and looked much worse. You will love this car! P.S. I will not abandon you after the sale, If you ever have any questions EVER you may call or email anytime! Thanks, and good luck!

This Car is being sold as is, to: Alaska, the lower 48 states, and Canada residents only.

NSX Concept-GT is the world's hottest way to boil water

Sat, 05 Oct 2013

The Honda NSX Concept-GT is one sexy machine, and it looks to be a very effective tool on a race circuit. But Honda's latest web spot leads us to believe that it also can be used to make tea.
In the video, the racecar is hooked up to an apparatus that uses tubing to harness the energy from the car's 500-horsepower hybrid drive system, using it to boil water. The novel tea-making technique reminds us a bit of a couple other inventive Honda commercials, namely Hands and Cog.
Watch the NSX ad below, and be sure to turn the sound up to hear that glorious engine note.

Honda favoring turbo over hybrid for US-market Vezel

Fri, 20 Dec 2013

While Honda gears up to unveil the new Fit to the US market at the Detroit Auto Show next month, back in its home market, the car's crossover cousin is just going on sale. The Vezel was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show last month and already has a three-month waiting list in Japan, where Honda projects that 90 percent of customers will opt for the hybrid version. Not so in the United States, however.
When the Vezel reaches American showrooms, there'll be a number of key differences. For starters, it will carry a different name, though Honda isn't saying what that will be. For another, it will be built for North American consumption at Honda's new plant in Mexico, roughly half of whose production capacity is reportedly being allocated to the new crossover. And finally, it'll have a different engine.
In Japan the Vezel is being offered with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, with or without electric assist. Honda won't offer the hybrid version here - at least not initially - but it is preparing to offer a turbo option. Although it has yet to announce US specifications and options, the 1.5-liter turbo four (also unveiled at the Tokyo show) is considered a stronger likelihood than the 1.0- or 2.0-liter versions.

Honda to spool up turbos, workforce with F1 tech

Fri, 22 Nov 2013

Honda has had a longer and more tumultuous relationship with Formula One than just about any other automaker. It had only been building cars for four years before it entered F1 in 1964 as the first Japanese team in the series, winning its first race the following season but shuttering the program a few years later. Honda came back to power the likes of Williams and McLaren to several World Championships in the '80s and '90s, but things took a downturn when it started a partnership and ultimately took over British American Racing. After pouring untold billions into the effort, the economy tanked, and Honda ultimately sold the team, which subsequently claimed the championship - under new ownership and Mercedes power. Now Honda is gearing up to return in 2015 with a new turbocharged V6 hybrid powertrain it's supplying initially to McLaren, which in turn is switching back to Honda from nearly two decades with Mercedes.
So why return to F1 now? That's precisely what Autoblog asked Honda's Global President and Chief Executive Takanobu Ito (pictured above with McLaren chief Martin Whitmarsh) while visiting his office in Tokyo. While he wouldn't reveal specifics (like when his company's new engine would be available to other teams, as it most certainly will in the long run), Ito-san was clearly happy to discuss the motivation behind the move and the value he feels it brings to the company and its products.
Ito pointed toward the proliferation of motors within Honda's powertrains as a development he hopes to take to road from track
