1999 Honda Civic Ex Coupe 2-door 1.6l Vtec Super Clean! on 2040-cars
Gallatin Gateway, Montana, United States
This is a sweet car. There are absolutely no mechanical problems, issues or worries whatsoever.
I have truly enjoyed owning this car. It has all the bells and whistles: There is one small rust spot just above rear passenger wheel well. Driver's side of the interior plastic has come unlatched on corner and has to be put up. I took it down so it could be seen by buyer. 1.6L V-TEC - Nice! Power boost at around 5,000rpm -Power Moonroof, Windows, Doors, Locks, A/C, Cruise, Tilt, Tint, Premium Sound 8 Speaker JVC AM/FM CD w/Aux Plug, Sat Ready, (Optional For purchase 12" Alpine 1000W Sub and Kenwood 2-Channel 1000W Amp - already wired in and working beautifully.), - 17" Aluminum Custom Wheels 245/40/17R Run-flats (Extreme Traction) -Short Shift Racing Pedals -Chrome Racing Shifter Outside and Under the hood it is a beaut. It has a blacked-out body kit. It has been lowered some and aligned. - Megan Racing did the entire suspension ($3,000 my mechanic tells me) - Bigger custom headers. - Racing Intake - Large custom exhaust - Vented racing brakes, pads and performance rotors. - New front tires with replacement for 3 years. - Racing clutch (very fast and precise) - EXTRA BECK-ARNLEY Complete clutch. - Performance wiring and assorted parts under hood. (I don't know everything for sure.) This car gets 37 - 40 Mpg Freeway and 25-33 Mpg in town. |

Glickenhaus's SCG 003 to pack twin-turbo Honda V6?
Tue, 26 Aug 2014Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus has made (or commissioned) two vehicles to date - the P4/5 and the P4/5 Competizione - and is now hard at work on its third. The first was based on the Ferrari Enzo and the second on a Ferrari F430, but the third is being developed independently from the ground up. The question, then, is what engine will it use?
Well now we may have our answer as Jalopnik reports that the SCG 003 (as it's known at the moment) will be powered by a 3.5-liter V6 sourced from Honda, fitted with twin turbochargers and producing in excess of 500 horsepower.
Honda's J35Y engine produces 278 horsepower in the Accord, 290 hp in the Acura MDX and 310 hp in the RLX. It also forms the basis for the HR35TT racing engine which Honda Performance Development puts in its Daytona Prototype, so if the rumors turn out to be true, chances are that's probably the engine in question - with the possible addition of a hybrid electric assist - but we'll have to sit tight to find out for sure.
Affordable, lightweight Honda roadster revival in the works?
Thu, 12 Sep 2013There's a joke phrase from a popular movie that gets tossed around the Autoblog offices when ever a big change or announcement is coming: "Hold on to your butts." It's usually accompanied by a video of Samuel L. Jackson. That's the advice we'd recommend for reading this article. GTChannel is reporting that a new, small, lightweight, quick successor to the Honda S2000 is being "seriously considered."
Citing an unnamed source within the Japanese automaker, GTChannel goes on to list a few interesting tidbits about the new vehicle. From the sounds of it, though, if Honda is planning a new roadster, it's in the absolute earliest stages of development.
What's apparently being discussed is a car that's smaller than a Mazda MX-5, in terms of its dimensions. Under hood would be a VTEC engine, displacing anywhere from 1.3 to 1.5 liters, with GT Channel making the apt suggestion that the 1.5-liter, 132-horsepower mill from the Honda Fit could make its way into the new roadster. Curb weight would be in the realm of 2,000 pounds, which would make a 130-odd-hp engine seem absolutely heroic. Rear-wheel drive would be a given, although we aren't sure about the site's suggestion that a five-speed manual will be on offer. Styling could draw from the N-One, a popular, Honda-badged kei car.
Watch this to get excited about seeing Honda back in F1
Thu, 09 Oct 2014Honda engines were the dominant force in Formula One through portions of the '80s and '90s, powering championship-winning teams at Williams and McLaren. It tried to recapture some of that magic in the 2000s but wasn't nearly as successful. For the 2015 F1 season, the Japanese brand is returning to the paddock yet again as a partner with McLaren, and in a new video it's acknowledging all of those past victories while looking forward to the uncertain future.
The video offers yet another chance to hear Honda's mill, and this time it's doing a simulated lap of Suzuka. Unfortunately, it's not entirely a joy to listen to. Like most of the current F1 field, it's a bit droning and just lacks the piercing scream of yesteryear.
With so many years out of the F1 game and completely different engine rules to overcome, the brand is essentially coming back to the sport blind. But any new competitors are a welcome addition to a series that can sometimes get rather staid. Maybe Honda and McLaren can rekindle their old flame to win another championship.
