2000 Honda Accord Highly Dependable Vehicle As A Children Or 2nd Car on 2040-cars

Year:2000 Mileage:179137 Color: Body
Location:

Arlington, Texas, United States

Condition:
Our car is in good condition. By "good", I mean it can probably get you 200,000 miles with the necessary maintenance.  I've had 6 Hondas so I know their value in that way.  I will enclose 11 pictures of different angles of this vehicle.  No smoking occurs in this vehicle.   We bought this car from a dealer in 2008.  It has been a dependable car for our children.  The car has a door closure ding on the passenger side where this can easily be popped out and fixed.  It also has a scrape on the passenger side towards the back.  It also lost a couple of screws to the bumper and that has not been replaced but rather we used a tie-wrap to keep it up.

The interior of the car is clean.  Since we do not ride in it much, there has not been much damage over the years.  The ceiling has a little "worn" from the Texas heat.  The sun-roof works pretty well.  The windows are tinted.  The engine condition is fair but could probably get you another 200,000 miles.  Tires are in good condition.  Automatic transmission.  Airbags are on the passenger and driver side.  Working radio and CD player.  Nice car for a college or high school student or just anyone needing a second or third car.

Honda names first woman, foreigner to its board of directors

Mon, 24 Feb 2014

General Motors may have made headlines when it recently appointed the industry's first female CEO, but Honda has long lagged woefully behind the times when it comes to the diversity of its top management. In fact, its entire board has until now been composed entirely of Japanese men, with not a foreigner or a woman in sight. But as Reuters reports, that's all changing with the nominations to its latest board.
The slate of new directors named to Honda's board includes one Hideko Kunii, a gender-equality advocate and engineering professor from the Shibaura Institute of Technology. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Kunii spent the bulk of her career at Japanese electronic imaging company Ricoh. Alongside Kunii, Honda has also named Tomoko Mizoguchi to the board as responsible for the company's South American operations, making him the first foreigner to serve on the company's board of directors. (Well, almost: Mizoguchi was born in Brazil, but of Japanese ancestry.)
The appointments follow the recent switch Honda made in its official language policy from Japanese to English, signaling a shift in outlook for a company that has long stuck to traditional Japanese business models. Honda was the first of the major Japanese automakers to begin manufacturing in the United States, and has long relied on hiring local managers to run its regional operations around the world. It has, however, resisted placing foreigners on its board of directors until now, relying instead on senior male managers promoted from within its ranks to serve on its board. This in comparison to Toyota, which has seven foreigners and one woman on its 68-member board of directors, and Nissan, which has fifteen foreigners (including its chief executive) and one woman on its 58-member board.

Honda fielding 11 entrants at Pikes Peak, including 532-hp Odyssey

Tue, 11 Jun 2013

Is it possible for a minivan to be more exciting than an Acura NSX? Well, Honda is trying to find out by entering a 532-horsepower Odyssey into the 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with IndyCar racer Simon Pagenaud behind the wheel.
Starting with a stock Odyssey, Honda dropped in a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 producing an estimated 532 hp and 460 pound-feet of torque as well as racing suspension, tires and brakes and one of the biggest roll cages you're likely to ever see. If this van looks familiar to you, you aren't alone - it's a veteran of the Tire Rack One Lap of America.
In addition to this super minivan, Honda will also be entering a first-gen NSX, CR-Z hybrid, Fit EV and Acura TL into the competition as well as five motorcycles and an all-terrain vehicle. Scroll down for the full details on Honda's comprehensive assault on Pikes Peak.

Honda slaps Legend name on JDM Acura RLX

Mon, 10 Nov 2014

It's been eighteen years since we last saw the Legend nameplate in Acura showrooms here in the US, but in Japan it's still very much alive as Honda's flagship sedan. And now the Japanese automaker has revealed the latest generation.
Set to go on sale across Japan on January 22 - 30 years since the nameplate was introduced - the new Honda Legend is essentially the same model we already know in the States as the new Acura RLX. Only by "essentially," we mean exactly. It is the RLX, only with Honda badges instead of Acura ones. The manufacturer hasn't even changed the grille or the wheels.
Although the RLX is being offered Stateside in two forms, the new JDM Honda Legend will only come in one form, equivalent to our Sport Hybrid, with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive and a hybrid powertrain pairing a 3.5-liter V6 to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission with integrated electric motor. For the privilege of owning the most luxurious car Honda makes, Japanese customers will have to pony up ¥6,800,000 - which about adds up to $59,950 we'd pay for an RLX Sport Hybrid.
