Hi

Selling this Vehicle - 1997 Honda Accord EX V-tec Engine in fair to good shape, in different areas.

What's Good: Engine, transmission, interior, functions, tires, windows.
What Could use some work: Some scratches, few small rust spots (one on hood, and quarter panels), ABS not working, it tries to start (buzzes) then quits and light comes on, missing door lock (where the key goes in) on passenger side, passenger side rear view mirror has cracks (but has a convex on for full use), CEL on: The car gives code 65 on diagnosis - which mean it needs the secondary 02 sensor. Now the car has a new exhaust without a CATCON (its over 15 years, so it technically does not need a CATCON). The CEL may remain on even after replacing the O2. The engine otherwise is fine and quiet for its age.
Major issues: None.

See good points/highlights below.
  • EX V-Tech F22B1 engine, one of Honda's best.
  • Original Paint, never in an accident, drives straight.
  • Oil changed, Air filter changed on April 23. Timing belt was done approximately 4000 miles ago.
  • 2.2 L Four Cylinder 5-speed standard.
  • Engine, Transmission, Clutch in great condition, runs strong.
  • Idles steady, shifts smooth, accelerates very nice.
  • No leaks overnight.
  • Body in fair shape.
  • Interior in great shape.
  • Honda original cassette radio, great sound.
  • Good condition on tires. Two almost new. Doughnut spare with full tread.
  • 1455XX miles.
  • A/c works good.
  • Powered windows, mirror, sunroof, moon roof, cruise control, wiper, wiper washer, all lights everything in working order. etc. - All working.
  • Windows roll nice and smooth.
  • All switches work nice and strong.
  • Power seat height adjustment. works, lumbar support works.
  • The car shows little sign of use in the interior compared to its age and miles. Most of the miles are highway.
  • Originally a MA car for initial years, that explains the little rust spots.
Thank you and buy with confidence.

Honda recalling 871,000 SUVs and minivans over rollaway fear

Wed, 12 Dec 2012

Honda is recalling 871,000 SUVs and minivans for an issue in which the vehicles may roll away after the key has been removed from the ignition. Ninety-two percent of the recalled vehicles, or 807,000 vehicles, are in the US. According to a report from Reuters, the effected vehicles include certain numbers of the Honda Odyssey and Pilot, as well as the Acura MDX. Here are the recall figures:
2003-2004 Honda Odyssey: 318,000 vehicles
2003-2004 Honda Pilot: 259,000 vehicles

Consumer Reports says these are the worst new cars of 2014

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

Consumer Reports has announced its annual list of worst vehicles, a cringe-inducing contrast to its list of top vehicles. Ignominiously leading the way in 2014 is Chrysler, which has a staggering seven models listed.
Jeep nearly sweeps the small SUV segment by itself, with its Compass, Patriot and 2.4-liter version of the new Cherokee, while the only midsize sedans listed by CR were the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. The new Dodge Dart and the Dodge Journey round out CR's condemnation of Chrysler.
Ford is taking heat as well, with the Taurus, Edge and their counterparts from Lincoln all listed as the worst vehicles in their respective segments. Toyota doesn't fare much better, with its Lexus IS, Scion iQ and tC also making the list.

Average new-car fuel economy figures continue record pace

Sat, 13 Jul 2013

Manufacturers are making more efficient cars and trucks; we've known that to be true for some time. Nearly every new car has some sort of trick to eke a few extra miles out of every gallon of fuel. Whether that be turbocharging, active aerodynamics or hybrid technology/electrified powertrains, the fact is that our vehicles are more efficient than ever before.
Thanks to a recent study by TrueCar, we've got fresh quantitative data to support the above statements. For the fourth month in a row, we've seen an improvement in national fleet fuel economy. We Americans are 0.7 miles per gallon more efficient than we were last month, and our cars are 1.6-mpg better than at this time last year. That said, we're still down on 2013's high, which was set back in January at 24.5 mpg.
Not only does this reflect the improved technologies in our vehicles, but it demonstrates a changing mindset among consumers, who are purchasing more efficient vehicles despite the relative stabilization of fuel prices. Every fuel-efficient model sold drives its manufacturers fleet average up.
