Up for sale is my mint 1996 GMC 3500. I am the third owner. This truck came out of Virginia. I have owned it for about 3 years now. It has NO rust anywhere! Undercarriage is clean with no rust/rot. The body was repainted about 5 months ago and looks awesome. Comes with leer bed cap as show however I also have a new fabric bed cover for it. Wheel simulators are new. Truck has 130k. The engine has a new turbo (stock), new marine injectors, air intake, new exhaust, s&s PDM upgrade. The truck is just more than I need. I only use it a few times per month as it is a second truck.

What I know it needs right now is:
1- one injector line has small leak (think it is a return line needs a hose clamp or something)
2- passenger seat was reclined and now will not return back to a locked position?
3- AC compressor or a charge

The truck is located in New Milford, CT. Feel free to contact me with questions @ (203) 448-9310. You are more than welcome to come check it out if you would like before bidding.

GM appears to repurpose Saturn Outlook parts on new Acadia

Thu, 09 Feb 2012 12:58:00 EST

General Motors unveiled the company's refreshed GMC Acadia at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show yesterday, and if you were paying attention, you may have noticed something curious about the vehicle. While the new Acadia looks considerably better than its predecessor, a few components of the design looked more than a little familiar. Upon closer observation, it appears that GM has simply repurposed elements of the now defunct Saturn Outlook crossover on the 2013 Acadia. Both vehicles seem to share the same wrap-around rear glass, back hatch, tail light openings and exaggerated, squared-off fender arches.
While the vehicles are differentiated by badging, tail lamps and a rear valance, there's no denying the similarities toward the vehicle's rear. Up front, both share similar fenders, though adjustments have been made for the varying headlight designs.
That's good news if you just can't imagine life without the Saturn Outlook.

GM 6.2L EcoTec V8 rated at 21 mpg by the EPA

Wed, 02 Oct 2013 15:31:00 EST

General Motors is already laying claim to best-in-class power for its new 6.2-liter V8 that will be offered in the 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra this fall, and now it has released fuel economy numbers for the big engine. Available as an option on the Silverado LTZ and High Country (shown above) models as well as the the Sierra SLT and Denali trims, the 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 will return 15 miles per gallon in the city and 21 mpg on the highway on rear-wheel-drive trucks; these numbers drop by one mpg each on four-wheel-drive models.
These estimates are in addition to the engine's 420 horsepower, 460 pound-feet of torque and max trailering capacity of 12,000 pounds, and considering all that power it's not terribly far away from the fuel economy of GM's equally new 4.3-liter V6 and its rating of 18 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. This announcement comes just days after a report indicated that GM is unable to keep up with the demand of the 5.3-liter V8 in the fullsize Chevy and GMC trucks due to supplier issues. GM's official press release for the 6.2-liter V8's fuel economy is posted below.

GM tells NHTSA pickup truck electronic glitch is 'inconsequential'

Wed, 26 Feb 2014 11:30:00 EST

General Motors has been enduring some serious problems with recalls recently, and it is hoping to avoid launching another major safety campaign. 200,921 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups are under the microscope due to a rare problem with their instruments, an issue GM calls calls "inconsequential to motor vehicle safety." The Detroit-based automaker believes that the glitch is so minor that it has filed a petition with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration asking the government safety watchdog for permission to pass on recalling the vehicles.
The fault at issue can occasionally cause the instrument cluster to reset when drivers use the steering wheel controls to browse songs from an external media device connected to the truck's USB ports. If a song's title information exceeds 2,000 bytes, according to The Detroit News, then the instrument panel can reset, which in turn causes the gauges, shift position indicator and cruise control telltale to turn off briefly. When rebooting, other instrument panel lights may briefly illuminate without their functions actually being activated. GM claims that if this does happen, the instrument display lights go out for about 1.5 seconds and the bulb check lasts a further five seconds. However, this snafu has no actual affect on the truck's operation. The glitch is present in trucks built between January 29, 2013, and October 28, 2013.
