The 2008 GMC Sierra isn’t the most macho-looking of the full-size trucks, but it’s one of the easiest to live with.

The 6.2-liter V-8 is standard in top-of-the-line Denali models and unique to the GMC truck (not offered in its Chevy cousin). It's teamed exclusively with a new six-speed automatic transmission; the other engines come with four-speed automatics.

The Sierra's interior is extremely well isolated from road and wind noise. The upgraded instrument panel in the top models of the 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 is very carlike, with a smooth, low design, as well as surfaces and materials that come together well. Other models get a simpler, more upright design with larger controls and door handles--better suited for work duty.

Top options on the 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 lineup include a cargo management system, power-sliding rear window, navigation system, DVD entertainment system, and XM Satellite Radio; new options include a power seat on regular cab trucks, 22-inch bright aluminum wheels, and an integrated trailer brake controller.

The 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 has top five-star results in federal-government crash tests for frontal and side impact protection. Stability and traction control are standard across the line, along with anti-lock brakes; head/curtain airbags are available on Sierra SLE and SLT models. The IIHS hasn't tested the Sierra, but the nearly identical Chevrolet Silverado was rated only Acceptable in the seat-based rear-impact test.

An inspection by an independent third party can benefit both buyers and sellers on eBay Motors. Most vehicles manufactured after 1981 are eligible for a comprehensive inspection. Vehicles manufactured prior to 1981 may be eligible for an asset verification performed by a professional inspector.

Why get an inspection? Inspections can validate a seller's claims about a vehicle's condition. Inspections provide potential buyers with valuable information on the vehicle's condition, including a consumer-friendly scoring model that assigns a numeric score and star rating of up to five stars to help buyers understand the inspector's findings.

How do I get an inspection? You can choose to engage with any number of reputable automotive inspection companies. eBay Motors is also pleased to introduce you to InspectMyRide. With their 150-point inspection, InspectMyRide helps you build the confidence that is crucial to any vehicle sale.

How long does a vehicle inspection take? With inspectors located nationwide, inspections from InspectMyRide can typically be completed within 48 hours, giving you the information you need to complete your purchase quickly.

Inspect My Ride Inspections offer:
  1. Nationwide network of trained inspectors
  2. Inspections performed wherever the vehicle is - home, office, or any convenient location
  3. Thorough but rapid inspections
  4. Reports available online within 24 hours of the completed inspection
  5. 150-point condition report (See a complete sample report)
  6. Digital photo package, including interior and exterior images
  7. AutoCheck vehicle history report summary

2013 GMC Acadia priced from $34,875*

Wed, 12 Sep 2012

For those who are interested in the reworked 2013 GMC Acadia, we now know how much you can look forward to forking over. Base MSRP for the 2013 version of the full-size, three-row crossover has been set at $34,875 (*not including a $825 destination charge). If you are interested in the range-topping Denali trim, be prepared to pay $46,770.
The 2013 Acadia will come standard with a backup camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel, USB port and recycled visuals from the now-dead Saturn Outlook.
Upping to the Denali trim gets you a head-up display, blind spot monitoring system and GMC's new Rear Cross Traffic Alert system. According to GMC, most trims will also receive IntelliLink connectivity as standard equipment. The Acadia will also get the industry's first front-center airbag, an innovation it shares with other Lambda-based crossovers like the refreshed 2013 Buick Enclave. The idea behind the new tube-shaped airbag is that it can provide a buffer between driver and front seat passenger in the event of an impact, or better hold the driver in place if he or she is alone.

GM dealers have ordered 30k Colorado and Canyon pickups, 3rd shift added

Wed, 17 Sep 2014

General Motors has an early success on its hands in the form of the initial rollout of the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon midsize pickup trucks. According to the automaker, dealers have ordered nearly 30,000 of the trucks thus far, a number that far exceeded GM's early expectations.
This high demand for the Colorado and Canyon twins has prompted GM to add a third shift to its Wentzville Assembly plant where the trucks are built, starting early next year. An extra shift will add an additional 750 jobs at the location to the 1,315 that were already employed there, according to the press release that you're welcome to read down below.
Such positive sales projections for the Canyon and Colorado may portend good things for the midsize pickup segment, which was once hugely popular but has more recently contracted, with the Nissan Frontier and Toyota Tacoma standing firm as the market leaders. Now that GM's entries are the most up-to-date, and with the segment's first diesel engine on the way, it will be interesting to see how the trucks continue to sell and if their hopeful success leads more automakers back onto the playing field.

PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Head over to PickupTrucks.com to read the full evaluation and the final results. You may be shocked to see exactly where some of the segment's newest additions placed. You can also watch a video on the test below.
