Up for sale is my 2006 GMC Sierra Denali that listed for $47,570.00 when I purchased it new. I paid close to $43K plus tax. I am the original owner and have the title on hand. I have used Mobil One synthetic oil and super gas in the truck since new. *****THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION***** I will do my best to list the good and bad of the truck and encourage you to call me with specific questions @ 862-881-7525 Steve. The truck also can be seen in person prior to bidding......currently driving the truck about 200 miles a day between northern NJ and NYC.

THE GOOD: The Motor runs great uses no oil between changes and has no leaks.  The transmission shifts perfect / has no leaks and has setting for towing. The tires are not new but in great condition. Rear brake pads, emergency brake pads, calipers, and rotors changed in 4/13......brake fluid system flushed and fluid changed at that time as well.  The front pads were at around 50/60 % in April 2013 and will need new pads at some point but as of now just fine. The original battery was replaced with Die Hard gold. The air conditioning and heat work perfectly. Mostly highway miles. No check engine or warning lights on. Recent oil change & wiper blades. Very little rust any where. Can be driven home.....bring plates. The interior is in pretty good shape for the mileage....I kept it clean and it has no funny smells. DVD played new never used. OnStar/XM capable. 20 inch chrome rims (some rust and pitting) see pics.

The Bad: White spray paint overspray (from july 4th mess up) all over truck.....they are hard to see in the pictures! Needs compound and wax badly! There are scratches and dents all over every panel of this truck. look at the pictures close.........may need to be painted over completely. I have maintained this truck mechanically but didn't really keep up on the washing and waxing as well as I should have. The drivers fender and the hood are dented from a deer....air bag did not deploy deer hit side as shown in pics. Passenger side doors damaged from hitting fire hydrant while in city moving a friend (also low impact no air bags deployed). Windshield has several small chips that don't obstruct view. Carpet needs a good shampooing. DASH STEREO/CD PLAYER (BOSE) DOES NOT WORK ......It goes on but no sound. I listen to the rear radio with a head set on. Passenger side mirror is cracked. Rear driver side door doesn't lock. Rear passenger side door needs a little extra pull strength when opening. Passenger front door leaks from top a little bit when in car wash. Starter makes some noise once in a while....have new one in a box.

GM profits threatened by glut of pickups

Wed, 05 Dec 2012

Automotive News reports that General Motors may slash production or ramp up discounts in order to deal with an oversupply of pickup trucks. GM currently has more than double the standard supply of pickups, and the vehicles are threatening to dampen the automaker's profits for 2013. Typically, automakers try to sustain a 60- to 75-day supply of vehicles, but GM is currently loaded with a 139-day supply, as of last month. At the end of November, the automaker was sitting on 245,853 units.
The manufacturer says that it will adjust production accordingly before laying any incentives on the profitable pickups. Even so, there's some concern that the inventory swell could hurt the roll-out of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM actually began slowly stepping back production in August, but it's clear the company will take further action as it heads toward the end of the year and into the next. Analysts predict the automaker could reduce pickup manufacturing by nearly half in the first quarter of 2013.
That still may not be enough to keep GM from laying extra cash on the Silverado and GMC Sierra. While the company's incentive spending was down in November compared to the same month in 2011, both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 saw double-digit percentage increases in sales last month while the Silverado and Sierra numbers slid compared to a year prior. Incentive spending could help move more trucks and add some balance to the GM inventory surge.

2013 GMC Acadia Denali

Wed, 05 Jun 2013

Refreshed, Not Refreshing
I'm probably ill-suited to accurately and fairly take the full measure of a vehicle like the 2013 GMC Acadia Denali. This is a machine conjured around the express notion of corralling and then herding a brood of rafter-swinging hatchlings to and fro in relative comfort, and with no such passel of wee Bowmans to call my own, it's difficult to give this rig a fair shake. While I can certainly weigh cargo capacity, legroom and fuel economy stats with the best of them, I'd be lying to your face if I said the word "crossover" didn't urge some uncontrollable Pavlovian recoil from the murky recesses of my frame. To put it simply, I just can't stand the damn things.
As a rule, the segment is built on a bed of compromise. Manufacturers love nothing more than to spin up a tired yarn about the virtues of this particular neck of the market. We're told the crossbreeds deliver all the ride quality, driving dynamics and fuel economy of a car married with the seating position, capability and interior volume of the SUV set. That all sounds as swell as a sunset, but as the 2013 Acadia Denali so artfully illustrates, the advertising on the box is rarely congruous with the prize inside. Even with an imaginary squad of younglings at my heels, the refreshed luxury crossover doesn't quite manage to scratch the promised itches.

2015 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon order guides reveal added power

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

General Motors' Fleet Order Guide system is often the canary in the coal mine for interesting changes on new models. The recent guide for the 2015 Corvette unveiled all sorts of changes that weren't yet known about the sports car. Now, it's time for the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon to take their bow in the spotlight, and they look worth the wait. The new midsize trucks are getting a touch more power than first thought, as well as some very nice features.
Extended Cab models of both trucks come standard with a 2.5-liter, direct-injected four-cylinder rated at 200 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 191 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm. That's a bit more than the 193 hp and 184 lb-ft originally reported for the duo. The standard transmission for the extended trucks is a six-speed manual, but the Work Truck trim is also available with an optional six-speed automatic. Towing for the four-cylinder is rated at 3,500 pounds.
Crew Cab models come standard with a 3.6-liter V6 with 305 hp at 6,800 rpm and 269 lb-ft of torque at 4,300 rpm, with a six-speed automatic. That's also somewhat different than the originally reported rating of 302 hp and 270 lb-ft. Towing for the V6 is rated at 7,000 pounds.
