I Will be describing my 89 GMC in three simple paragraphs.  First I will start with the drivetrain, then move to the exterior, then to the interior.

It has a freshly built 350 engine with a smooth shifting 5-speed manual transmission behind it.  The engine has just had about $2500 spent on the top end less then 7 months ago, it has brodix heads and valve cover gaskets on it, the intake is eldelbrock and the less then year old carburetor is a eldelbrock 650.  The distributor is a HEI.  The truck has a 6AL box on it that is not currently hooked up.  It also has a pretty big cam in the truck, but I do not know the specs on it.  Engine is about 10-1/10.5-1 compression, estimated between 350 and 375hp.  Truck is very strong. Also has headers dual exhaust, it leaves for a very nice sound.  The transmission has a new clutch slave cylinder, master cylinder, and new clutch line.  Clutch is very strong and all the gears are very smooth.  Truck will run 80mph @ 2500 rpm.  I have been driving this truck roughly 80 miles to work then 80 home.  I also love to get in it and ride around on the weekends.

The exterior of the truck is black.  The paint on the sides of the truck is pretty good common scratches and common wear on it.  The roof of the truck paint is dull, the inside of the bed is scratched up, but not dented up.  Inside of the bed, the roof, and the hood could use some new paint.  It has sporty carbon fiber mirrors. This is a rust free truck, you got to love a GM product from the south. The tires on the truck are very wide and very deep in tread 85%  All 4 of them are matching.  The truck has a 2 inch drop on the front and a 3 inch drop on the back, so its sits beautiful.  It rides very smooth for a lowered truck.

The interior is about an 8 out of a 10.  The seat is very nice and comfortable.  It has a fold down arm rest on the driver side.  The carpet and door panels are in very good shape also.  The dash is crack free.  Factor radio.  The heat work amazing.  This truck does not have air condition on it right now, but roll the windows down and listen to it sing you a beautiful song with the dual exhaust.  The headliner is the main thing you can hit the interior for.  It has the board their but needs to be covered.
The body of the truck is sho
wing 277K miles.  This truck drives like it has less then 100k on it

So my conclusion, This is a fun truck to ride around town on the weekends, but at the same time it will go on a road trip also.  I am not scared to drive this truck anywhere.  It is a really good driver quality hot rod.  It also has a receiver hitch on the back of it for pulling.  If you have any questions please feel free to call me..423-667-7235  Thanks for looking

OnStar RemoteLink mobile app coming standard on all new GM vehicles

Thu, 06 Jun 2013

As an evolution and improvement of its OnStar technology, General Motors has announced that it will be expanding the RemoteLink Mobile App on most 2014 model year Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles. The new, aptly named RemoteLink Key Fob Services will allow users to remotely operate all of the same systems as the car's key fob, including locking and unlocking the doors and remote starting (on vehicles equipped with a factory remote starter) using a smartphone.
These Key Fob Services will be free for five years - starting from the vehicle's delivery date - but the full suite of RemoteLink features will continue to be offered only with a subscription (trial or paid). These premium features include contacting a live adviser, getting turn-by-turn directions and remotely monitoring the vehicle's diagnostic systems.

Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon midsize pickup trucks to get diesel engines

Tue, 27 Aug 2013

The market for midsize pickup trucks has all but been abandoned in the US, but General Motors is about to shake the market up with the all-new (to the US) Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. Launching next year, GM already told us that its new trucks would be a "fuel-efficient alternative" to fullsize trucks, and aside from the smaller size, Automotive News says that these trucks will accomplish this with a diesel engine.
According to the AN report, the next-gen Colorado and Canyon will offer a small, four-cylinder Duramax turbo diesel with a displacement of either 2.5 or 2.8 liters - both engines are currently used in this truck for other markets. This would allow GM to join the Cummins-powered Nissan Titan and Ram 1500 EcoDiesel as the only non-HD trucks in the US to offer diesel. The article goes on to say that the diesel versions of the Colorado and Canyon would launch about a year after the trucks go into production in fall of 2014.

2015 GMC Yukon Denali

Tue, 25 Mar 2014

Automotive enthusiasts often wonder aloud - ourselves included - why General Motors would choose to keep GMC while sending Pontiac (and Saturn, and even Oldsmobile before it) into the great automotive graveyard in the sky. The answer, as is so often the case, is profit. It's much easier for GM to rake in money hand over fist by rejiggering the trucks, crossovers and SUVs that it would already be developing for Chevrolet and making them a bit more luxurious and *ahem* "Professional Grade" with new grilles, badges and unique packaging for GMC.
While it may sound like we're being cynical, we totally approve of GM's fullsize SUV strategy. The least-expensive way to get into the fold is with the Chevrolet Tahoe, which starts at $45,595 with a 5.3-liter V8 engine and a cloth interior. Bumping that same Chevy to LTZ trim and its $59,995 sticker price lands a much nicer leather-clad interior and more techno-bells and whistles than you can shake a stick at. But it still looks like a Tahoe, and it still comes with the smaller 5.3-liter engine. Or, you could do what we'd do: Walk into your GMC dealer and take a look at the Yukon Denali. Here's why.
