1985 GMC SIERRA K1500 4X4 WITH CUSTOM PAINT IN TWO TONE SILVER AND BLUE.

I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF THIS BEAUTIFUL TRUCK.  THE TRUCK ORIGINATED FROM TENESSEE(I ACTUALLY BOUGHT IT IN TN WHILE I WAS AT MY SONS FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT SEVERAL YEARS BACK). I DROVE IT HOME FROM TENESSEE TO CINCINNATI JUST AFTER I PURCHASED IT AND PUT IT TO THE TEST IMMEDIATELY. SHE RAN GREAT ALL THE WAY HOME.  THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO RUST ON THE TRUCK AT TIME OF PURCHASE AND NO BODY WORK TO BE DONE ON THIS TRUCK. IT HAD THE ORIGINAL PAINT WHICH WAS IN GOOD CONDITION.  I DECIDED TO HAVE IT STRIPPED DOWN COMPLETELY AND CUSTOM PAINTED. THE PAINT WORK IS HIGH END AND UNIQUE AS YOU WILL SEE IN THE PHOTOS.  THERE IS NO BODY FILLER IN THIS TRUCK AND NO RUST ON ANY BODY PANELS. STRAIGHT AND SOLID.

THE ORIGINAL OWNER REPLACED THE ORIGINAL GM 305 MOTOR AND PUT A NEW GM 350 MOTOR IN THE TRUCK AT APPROXIMATELY 100,000 MILES. THE CURRENT 350 GM MOTOR HAS 71,845 ON IT. IT RUNS BEAUTIFULLY AND STARTS EVERYTIME.  ENGINE OIL HAS BEEN CHANGED REGULARLY AND EARLY.

I JUST PUT NEW CHERRY BOMBS(EXHAUST) ON THE TRUCK FOR A LITTLE RUMBLE.  NOT TOO LOUD BUT NOT TOO QUIET.  JUST RIGHT.  SOUNDS GOOD.  NEW TIRES WERE JUST PUT ON THE TRUCK AS WELL(MAYBE HAVE 300 MILES ON THE NEW TIRES). SPRAY IN BEDLINER PUT IN LAST YEAR.  HEAVY DUTY BATTERY PUT IN THE END OF 2012.

FOUR WHEEL DRIVE WORKS GREAT.

I HATE TO SEE HER GO QUITE HONESTLY.  SHE'S BEEN A GREAT OLD GIRL. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET A WONDERFUL TRUCK.

THANKS FOR LOOKING.

2014 GMC Sierra 4.3L V6 to offer segment-best 305 LB-FT

Mon, 06 May 2013

General Motors has released more information on the 4.3-liter V6 available in the 2014 GMC Sierra. The engine will serve up 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque, with a six-speed automatic transmission, and giving the V6 Sierra a maximum tow rating of 7,200 pounds in regular cab, short bed four-wheel drive configuration. GM claims that figure is 500 pounds more than the equivalent Ford F-150 equipped with a 3.7-liter V6, and 700 pounds more than the Ram 1500 with its 3.6-liter V6. Buyers can expect to see the 2014 GMC Sierra with the 4.3-liter engine start at $25,085 including destination.
While the engine does deliver more torque than either of its main competitors, it falls short on the horsepower front. The 3.7-liter V6 in the F-150 develops 302 hp while the 3.6-liter V6 in the Ram 1500 yields 305 hp. GM says fuel economy estimates for its newest entry will land later this year. GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect

2010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.

2015 GMC Canyon

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

As discussed earlier today, the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado is a new standout in terms of midsize trucks. But the Colorado wasn't the only pickup the General Motors team brought to San Diego for us to sample. Also along for the ride was a pack of GMC Canyons, the slightly more expensive and polished platform-mate to the Chevy.
There's no question that the Canyon and the Colorado are a lot alike under the skin - almost entirely, in fact - so GMC has worked to first create some daylight between the two trucks by way of sheetmetal. This is most obvious from the front view, where the blocky and blingy GMC grille replaces the more subdued tone and shape seen on the Chevy's nose. Projector headlights with LED running lights come as standard, and, again, with the squared-off look that is typical of the brand. 16-inch aluminum wheels come stock on the GMC, too, with the 17-inchers seen on my photo truck offered as standard equipment on the top-trim SLT.
GMC considers the Canyon to be the only premium truck in the segment (which is clearly true), and the team has spent a ton of time and effort to get the interior correct to prove out that point. "Any trim that looks like metal, is metal," I was told at the product briefing, a certain indication that the company is serious about bringing a new class of buyer to a truck segment that it hopes to redefine.
