Up for sale is an extended 2005 GMC Savana 3500 with 71,098 miles. The van is currently in use so expect the mileage to be slightly higher when received. The van has been converted into an ice cream delivery truck. It is equipped with a high top so you can stand up while inside the van. It also comes with a humongous cold plate freezer. The cold plate freezer is perfect for ice cream or any other kind of frozen food distribution. I can usually stuff 150-200 cases of ice cream in it. The freezer requires no dry ice or inverter. You simply plug it into a standard 110v outlet overnight and the freezer holds the -20 to 0 degrees for the day.

Some advantages over a particular ice cream truck include:

-Better fuel economy: The van is not a Prius, but you are going to spend a lot less money at the pump.
-Parking: You are going to experience an easier time finding parking while making deliveries. The van also is compact enough to fit in most  driveways. And because it only needs a 110v outlet you can park it at home and save monthly parking bills.
-You can arrange your delivery inside the truck. Since the freezer is inside the truck you can get your order together inside the van. It comes in  handy when the weather is not cooperating.
-Easier to drive. A van is easier to drive than your standard bay trucks.

The van is in great mechanical condition. The engine was completely rebuilt at 64k miles. During the engine rebuilt a new water pump and catalytic converters were also done.

The body does have some battle scars from everyday use.

The only current issue with the van right now is that the AC doesn't work. The heat and fan both work like they should. The potential new order should considered changing the front driver side tire and the brake pads. The pads are starting to squeak. The 2 rear tires are in excellent condition. The front right tire is in good condition.

The van is located in Bronx, Ny 10465. Anyone who is truly interested can come take it for a test drive. Feel free to ask any further questions or request more specific photos.

The 1st $16,500 gets the van. Other offers will also be considered.

GM issues stop-delivery for 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon

Fri, 03 Oct 2014

General Motors is issuing a stop-delivery order for its latest midsize pickups, the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, because the driver's side airbag might not be wired correctly. The total number of vehicles affected is still being determined.
According to the statement from GM, the problem, "affects the vehicles' two-stage airbag system by reversing the deployment sequence and disrupting the deployment timing of the driver airbag stages." That means in an accident the bag may not work correctly.
Most of the affected trucks are still on the assembly line, in transit or unsold at dealers, says GM. Until a way to repair the problem is found, customer deliveries are stopped. However, "a small number" of them are in the possession of buyers. GM is contacting these people by phone and by FedEx letter to have the vehicles returned to dealers. In the meantime, they'll be given a loaner to drive.

GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.

GM dealers have ordered 30k Colorado and Canyon pickups, 3rd shift added

Wed, 17 Sep 2014

General Motors has an early success on its hands in the form of the initial rollout of the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon midsize pickup trucks. According to the automaker, dealers have ordered nearly 30,000 of the trucks thus far, a number that far exceeded GM's early expectations.
This high demand for the Colorado and Canyon twins has prompted GM to add a third shift to its Wentzville Assembly plant where the trucks are built, starting early next year. An extra shift will add an additional 750 jobs at the location to the 1,315 that were already employed there, according to the press release that you're welcome to read down below.
Such positive sales projections for the Canyon and Colorado may portend good things for the midsize pickup segment, which was once hugely popular but has more recently contracted, with the Nissan Frontier and Toyota Tacoma standing firm as the market leaders. Now that GM's entries are the most up-to-date, and with the segment's first diesel engine on the way, it will be interesting to see how the trucks continue to sell and if their hopeful success leads more automakers back onto the playing field.
