1936 Ford Coupe Great cruiser ready for the road in Gunmetal gray metallic with maroon pin striping around body. Completely professionally rebuilt Chevy 350 bored 30k with new pistons, rings, seals, mild cam, oil pump=355 cu in. Heads all reworked with new valves, near 300 HP.Chevy 700 R4 automatic trans, with overdrive.....like clockwork.Rear end is 3.08 with new seals and bearings.Front end & steering is Mustang II with 11" front disc brakes. The rear brakes are new drum brakes (chevy rear end). The master cylinder is accessed on the driver side floor panel with easy access and this car steers straight as an arrow!Cragar aluminum wheels 15x7, tires size front P205/65 R15 and rear P235/75 R15Boxed frame 2x4 Edelbrock Performer intake & Edelbrock 650 carburetorZoomie headers, sounds very cool. Ford reports $3B profit in Q4, $6.9B for the year
Tue, 28 Jan 2014Good news out of Dearborn today, as Ford announced $3 billion in profit for the last quarter of 2013, a 90-percent increase over the same period of 2012. Net income for all of last year, meanwhile, jumped to $7.2 billion from $5.7 billion in 2012, while pre-tax profits sat at a decade-topping $6.9 billion for all of 2013.
The results of the substantial profit increases are bigger profit-sharing checks for UAW employees. How big? A record $8,800 on average for 47,000 UAW workers, making 2013 the biggest year for profit sharing in Ford history. In total, $414 million will be paid as part of the profit-sharing scheme.
Now, it should be pointed out that a fair portion of Ford's Q4 profits were due to tax benefits, totaling $2.1 billion, according to Automotive News. Total profits would have also been higher, had there not been a significant recall on the Escape, as well as plant issues in South America.
NHTSA probing 2000-2003 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable models over throttle issue
Mon, 29 Oct 2012A potential issue with the speed control cable collar has got the 2003-20003 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable under the spotlight of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If the collar breaks it can cause the throttle to be stuck open.
The issue is limited to vehicles with the 3.0-liter V6 Duratec. There are just 50 complaints so far out of 310,000 cars, but the NHTSA has begun an investigation into whether a recall should be issued.
GM also sheds parts from its pickups to boost payload ratings
Thu, 31 Jul 2014The row between Ford and Ram over who boasts the best-in-class tow rating for heavy duty pickups has revealed a number of things. Chief among them is a report that Ford removes items like the spare tire, jack, radio and center console from its vehicles in a bid to lower its base curb weight and therefore keep the truck's gross vehicle weight rating down.
For those that need a refresher, GVWR is the vehicle's curb weight plus its maximum payload. A lower GVWR allows Ford to station its F-450 among the so-called Class III pickups, despite the fact that internally, it has the makings of a more brutish Class IV truck.
Ford explains away these deletions, saying a customer could order their vehicle in such a manner. It has also come to light that Ford is not the only automaker to engage in such practices.
