1976 Gran Torino Station Wagon

351 Cleveland - 2 Barrel (161,940 original miles)

FMX Borg-Warner Transmission (Automatic)

I am listing this vehicle for sale for my girlfriends' father. I will list all of the details he has told me about the station wagon. If you have any more questions, please feel free to call him. His name/number is: Carlton Gardner 252-749-5491. The vehicle is located in Fountain, N.C.

This station wagon has been owned by Mr. Carlton Gardner, a retired mechanic, since 1998. It has the original motor and transmission. Neither one have ever been rebuilt. The motor is a 351 Cleveland, 2 bolt main, with a 2 barrel carburetor. The transmission is an FMX Borg-Warner Heavy Duty Automatic Transmission.

The station wagon has 161,949 original miles. It has Power Steering and Power Brakes. The car originally came with A/C, however this has been removed. The car has a good, strong engine and the transmission shifts fine. The gas needle does not work, and the drivers' side seat has a split in it and some of the foam is missing.

It will be the buyers' responsibility to arrange for the transporting/ shipping of the vehicle, however, the car is road worthy, so it would be possible to get a 10 day temporary tag and drive the vehicle back to your hometown.

SELLING WITH NO RESERVE!!!

Ford recalls 83k Taurus and crossover models for halfshaft issue

Fri, 15 Aug 2014

Ford and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have issued a recall for some 83,250 vehicles in the US, for an issue with halfshafts. More specifically a "halfshaft retention circlip" might not have been properly installed on affected vehicles, with the result being halfshafts that may move improperly or disengage completely from the linkshaft while driving. The NHTSA release also notes that the issue may occur "without prior warning" which obviously factors in to the timeliness of getting this checked.
Should the halfshaft disengage, a few troubling things could happen. If it occurs while driving, power from the engine will no longer be transmitted to the wheels. And, if the vehicle is parked without the parking brake applied after disengagement of the circlip, vehicles may roll away even if they're transmissions have been placed in "Park."
Affected vehicles are as follows: Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX crossovers from model years 2012 to 2014; Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKS sedans from model years 2013 to 2014; Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT vehicles from model years 2013 to 2014.
