1973 Ford Gran Torino Sport Fastback - One Owner - 351 Clevland - Runs on 2040-cars

Year:1973 Mileage:38000
Location:

Pasadena, Texas, United States

Pasadena, Texas, United States

This Gran Torino was pulled out of a garage after sitting for over 20 years in Pasadena Texas. I have the original 1973 Clean Clear Texas Title with Title Transfer form signed and ready to go. The car runs and drives and can be drove around the block. I bought the car with every intention to restore but bought another project.

BAD: The car needs interior, it was stored in a garage since 1991 and the car was full of junk that destroyed the seats and arm rests. The paint is original and has small surface area rust that is hard to see in pictures. The rear bumper has a dent, the front bumper filler is dented, the floor board behind the drivers seat has a few rust holes, The windshield needs replaced, the brakes are old, the exhaust is original and leaks, the tires are old and bad, someone stole the front Torino emblem, the brake booster leaks
GOOD: New water pump, thermostat, temperature sending unit, belts, hoses, plugs, fuel pump, used gas tank. The radio, wipers, all lights, gauges, idiot lights, a/c compressor, windows, trunk work. The rubber seals on the car are in great condition because it was stored inside. Overall the car is in very repairable shape and could be road worthy with a little effort.

Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line

Wed, 05 Jan 2011

The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.

Ford reveals automated Fusion Hybrid

Thu, 12 Dec 2013

Autonomous cars may still be in their infancy, but more and more big names in the auto industry are diving in head first. Nissan is already making strides with a semi-autonomous Leaf EV and General Motors is planning to offer semi-autonomous tech by 2020. And then there's Google, doing its thing with a fleet of Toyota Prius. Now, Ford is showing off its latest automated effort, a driverless Fusion Hybrid.
Partnering with the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and State Farm Insurance, the project is part of Ford's Blueprint for Mobility, the company's plan for transportation beyond 2025. "The Ford Fusion Hybrid automated vehicle represents a vital step toward our vision for the future of mobility," Chairman Bill Ford said. "We see a future of connected cars that communicate with each other and the world around them to make driving safer, ease traffic congestion and sustain the environment."
The automated Fusion features four LiDAR infrared sensors that scan the road 2.5 million times every second, using a principle similar to the echolocation used by dolphins or bats. Using the infrared light emitted by the LiDAR, the car can draw a picture of everything within 200 feet to create a map of its surroundings. According to Ford, the sensors are able to tell the difference between a paper bag and a small animal from a football field away.

Ford's official Euro aftermarket partner Mountune coming to US

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

Now that we're getting a steady stream of Ford's European offerings, the aftermarket world is finally starting to catch up as well. UK-based aftermarket tuning company, Mountune has just announced that it will be setting up shop in California to provide high-performance and racing parts for Ford vehicles including the Focus ST and Fiesta ST.
Mountune lays claim to being Ford's "official European tuning partner," and US buyers will soon have access to these parts through Ford dealerships and with a Ford Racing warranty. Speaking of Ford Racing, Mountune also says that it will be working with Ford's in-house team to develop future components for both street and track. There are no specifics as of yet for which products will be offered here, but the company plans to launch a US-specific website later this month with more information.
