Up for auction is a 1969 Ford Torino GT 428 CJ Q code (non ram-air) automatic car. This car is a major project car but is well worth the time and money. It is a factory 428 CJ automatic on the column car. It was originally a bench seat car but the bench seat was gone when I got the car as well as the running gear. I have a standard 428 motor, a C6 trans with rebuild kit and new R-servo, and a 3:55 posi chunk for the rearend. The paint on the car is Petty Blue. The car has big King Cobra stickers on both right & left fenders. From what I have been able to find out from people that were familiar with the car when it was new is that it was sold as a tribute to this being the only year Richard Petty drove a Ford and a Torino. You should be able to get more information on this with a Marti report. I just have not had the time to do so as I have talked with people around the SC area where the car was sold new. I have a clear SC title for the car and the door tag reads as follows: Body 63F Color _____ (no numbers) Trim 6B Date 17A
D.S.O 220148 Axle A Trans U. According to the books I have to decode this information, the blank numbers code indicates the car was shipped from the factory in primer.
If you have any questions, please email and I will try to answer asap.
I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY AS THE CAR IS FOR SALE LOCALLY.

Shelby American cleans house of 14 concept cars
Wed, 25 Jun 2014Typically when an automaker rolls out a concept car or pre-production prototype, it does its tour and then disappears into the company's archives. Maybe it will be displayed for the public to see in the company's own museum or maybe it will spend most of its time under covers in a warehouse somewhere, but every once in a while, an automaker will open up its history and start selling off its concept cars. For Shelby American, "once in a while" has just rolled around.
The House that Carroll Built is moving from its previous headquarters at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to a new facility off of the Las Vegas strip, and in the process is liquidating fourteen of the rarest cars in its collection. That presents a tremendous opportunity for muscle car collectors to bring one or more of these snakes home.
As you might expect, the catalog is composed mostly of Mustangs, but not exclusively. There's a pair of 289 Cobras: the last of the 50th anniversary slab-sided continuation cars and an original development vehicle, offered at $200,000 apiece. At the other end of the spectrum you'll find the 2013 Shelby Raptor concept for $125k and Focus concept for $50k. And of course there are the Mustangs.
Europe's most-wanted classic car is... the Ford Mustang?
Sat, 28 Sep 2013Over the span of its 49 years and five generations, the Ford Mustang has held a special place in the hearts of automotive enthusiasts in the US, but, as it turns out, this car is also very popular amongst European car lovers. Earlier this summer, AutoScout24 - a new and used car shopping site in Europe - polled around 75,000 European "car lovers" (not sure how they vetted the respondents) to see which cars were the most popular, and the Mustang came out on top over iconic European classics like the BMW M1 and Volkswagen Beetle.
In the whole of Europe, 37 percent of those polled dream of owning a Mustang, but that number jumps in individual countries like Austria (42 percent) and Spain (41 percent). Rounding out the top five popular classics in Europe are the Mini and Citroën 2CV. Find out which cars made up the rest of the top 10 in the press release posted below.

Thu, 21 Mar 2013Solid axle? What solid axle?
I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation.
This should not have gone this easily. Having a long and checkered history of simple projects punctuated by much wailing and gnashing of knuckles, I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation when I finally decided to lay hands on the '89 Mustang with the goal of relieving the car of its stock rear axle. Instead, it took less than a full morning's worth of work to carve the old 7.5-inch solid axle from its moorings and mock up something, well, different.
