Ford Thunderbird Lx on 2040-cars

I have a 1988 Ford Thunderbird LX that I am trying to get rid of. This is quite a sweet ride and would make a great summer car or, who knows, maybe even a collectible someday.The good:117,809 miles on it. Pretty low for a car that's 28 years old!Fairly new Cooper Cobra tires on backNo visible rust (there is some under the driver's door, only seen when opened)Interior is in great condition with no rips or tears on seats.Body is in great shape with no dings or dents.Four-way power seats and power windowsThe bad:The car has a blown head gasketSlight shifting cable malfunction, which only allows the car to start in neutral (does not effect performance at all, just something to get used to, or fixed!)The paint is wearing a little on some spots (as seen in pictures)The heating in the car may not be fully functional (But hey, this baby doesn't deserve to be out and about during the harsh New York winters anyway)Driver's door handle requires a little trick to open (Not too big of a deal) Will need an inspection

Watch NASCAR racer Brad Keselowski do a burnout... in a hotel conference room
Fri, 08 Mar 2013A vast majority of hotels frown upon smoking inside the building these days, but Brad Keselowski doesn't follow the rules. During his introduction at the 2013 MiilerCoors Distribution Convention, the reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup champion smoked the tires of his Miller-sponsored Ford Fusion stock car, adding a pair of thick, black stripes to the carpeting of the Marriott World Center's conference room.
This definitely isn't a high-quality video, but it's the perfect vantage point to watch Keselowski lay down some rubber and receive a well-deserved standing ovation after pulling up in front of the crowd. Check out the short-but-sweet video posted below.

Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models
Fri, 30 Aug 2013The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.
