This car was for sale at the local Ford dealer, and I would drive by everyday on the way to work, one evening I stopped in and made a deal on the car. This is the second one I have owned and they really are just fun to drive. The fun part for me is I can take a back country side road most all the way to the business, and what a great stress relief it is. I have three convertibles, the others are Buicks, I kind of like the big car ride a bit better. Hence this one can be sold.

The car was completely serviced before I picked it up, so it runs and drives nice. I'll have the oil changed and the car serviced before it leaves

The paint and body is in fantastic condition. The interior is the same, just a very nice condition car all the way around. I added a wind screen behind the seats, its clear and so its not really too visible, yet it does a great job at cutting the wind down in the passenger compartment. At 60-65 mph its really pretty quiet in the car with that up. I also bought a new rear cover to go over the top when its in the down position, and a nice little Thunderbird logo trunk mat.

The two tone interior really gives the car a nice retro look to it, and helps with the summer sun, as the seats don't cook you on a sunny day

If you are local, I encourage you to come look and drive the car

Thanks for looking and if you have any questions, please feel free to call 319-361-6465

On Jul-10-14 at 15:19:06 PDT, seller added the following information:

If you were to spend the money to run the AutoCheck Report system, you will find the car was sold new in New Mexico, later the owners moved to FL, and traded the car in. The car was sold to the Ford dealer where I live,  I am the second owner of the car.

The report shows absolutely no issues of any kind with the car.

I have been asked if everything works, very simply, yes, all mechanical features work as new, 6 disc CD, top, windows, everything is correct

eBay Find of the Day: Mk1 Ford GT40 with interesting history

Sat, 03 May 2014

You might expect a rare Ford GT40 to cross the block at some sort of prestigious auto auction from RM or Gooding, not show up on eBay for over $2 million. However, that's exactly what we have here. The seller claims the car is a late-build Mk1 GT40 from 1969, and it's currently owned by the director of the Hublot watch company in Switzerland.
According to the listing, GT40 #P1108 started life as Mk1 car that was built from factory spares in 1969 and was first sold in 1971. However, the auction is somewhat confusing. According to an image in its gallery, the vehicle was actually built from one of the seven spare Mk3 tubs when production of the iconic racers ended.
This GT40 was never built as a racecar - it lived on the streets its whole life. After assembly finished, it was sent to Germany and was eventually registered for the road. The first owner kept the car until 2005 and sold it with 7,300 miles on the odometer. The current owner bought it in 2012.

Shelby boosts production of 575-hp Raptor on early demand

Mon, 08 Apr 2013

Shelby American unveiled its all-new Shelby Raptor at the New York Auto Show last month, saying that it would build just 100 examples of its off-road bad boy, a pickup priced at $17,995 over the cost of the donor Ford F-150 SVT Raptor. But the Las Vegas outfit apparently underestimated just how popular the supercharged 575-horsepower 4x4 would actually be.
Strong early demand reportedly has Shelby singing a whole new tune, as the company is now saying it will build upwards of 500 units annually. While the increased production will likely make for at least 400 more happy owners, those who were on the original short list - possibly speculating on future values - might not be grinning as much. Needless to say, the company has assured everyone that each and every one of the modified Raptors will still be listed in the official Shelby registry.
Keep in mind that Ford isn't sitting idle on its trophy-truck-for-the-street, either. The company will reveal its own 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition this month.

Ford C-Max, Fusion hybrids subject of MPG lawsuit in California

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

A California lawsuit over the fuel economy claims for the 2013 Ford C-Max was first reported back in December. Based on the numerous reports we've heard of disgruntled owners failing to get their car's EPA fuel economy ratings on the C-Max and 2013 Fusion Hybrid, we suspected there would be more to this story. The Detroit News is reporting that two California law firms are combining their lawsuits against Ford on this matter for "false and misleading" claims.
The article states that there are hundreds of C-Max and Fusion Hybrid owners who have joined the lawsuit, but the issue isn't limited to customers. In December, Consumer Reports extensively tested both the Fusion Hybrid and C-Max and found that both hybrids performed significantly worse than their EPA claims. This all comes just a few months after Hyundai and Kia took the unprecedented step of lowering the fuel economy ratings for all of their 2012 and 2013 model-year vehicles.
