For Sale: A very nice looking and driving 1962 Ford Thunderbird Landau. This one is a fairly rare color, Diamond Blue (a special order Lincoln color). This shade of light blue looks very good with its contrasting Black Landau roof. The excellent and correct interior is a few shades darker than the exterior, providing additional and attractive contrast. The engine runs well and is the original 390 V-8. The odometer reads 21,349. Judging by the condition of the original interior, this may be actual miles, but I cannot prove that. The previous owner thought the miles were actual. The automatic transmission shifts nicely. The car runs and drives nicely, but has been in storage without being driven since November of last year. Everything on the car works. The paint is nice, but not perfect. The landau top is in very good shape. The chrome is very shiney and solid and the stainless is also very nice. All of the trim is in good condition and the glass is clear all around. The original interior is in excellent condition. The interior chrome is good, steering wheel nice, great dash and headliner. The door panels look great and even the carpet and floor mats are nice. The colors are correct inside and out. Yes, this Thunderbird does have the common exhaust manifold leak that probably new donuts will fix. The trunk does have some surface rust and will need a new trunk kit ( mat and sideboards). The underside is very solid and looks good. The driver's side lower bumper has a blemish that the previous owner painted over with silver chrome-type paint. There is a small scuff/shallow dent on the passenger's side front wheel well lip that is not seen in the photos. My wife barely scuffed the garage side parking night. I guess I can forgive her.
Overall, this is a very nice 1962 Thunderbird that can be driven right away. The wide white wall tires really set off the light blue and black of the car. The ride is veryy smooth and comfortable. These '61-'63 Thunderbirds were very low, long, and heavy cars with a solid feel.
Please feel free to ask any questions. Sold in as-is condition. Personal inspection is encouraged.

Ford Fiesta ST customs get wild at SEMA
Tue, 05 Nov 2013The massive 57-car SEMA showcase by Ford ranges from obvious aftermarket-friendly models like the Mustang, to the not so obvious ones, like the Transit Connect and cute-as-an-explosive-button Fiesta ST. Ford plucked several Fiesta STs for SEMA duty, and we were on the show floor today to get a closer look at some of them.
First up is the striking COBB Tuning and Tanner Foust Racing Fiesta ST (above) finished in a black-and-gray digital camouflage, much like that used in the military, and is meant to raise awareness for the Pat Tillman Foundation. COBB also fitted a three-inch exhaust and a cold-air intake. A new shift knob, carbon-fiber hood and a Kicker stereo round out the mix of upgrades.
MRT got its hands on a Fiesta ST and created a car inspired by Forza Motorsport 5 (below, left). Featuring a two-tone paint job and more performance upgrades than you can shake a stick at, this Fiesta ST is one of the cooler compacts at Ford's stand. A high-performance exhaust system, along with a complimentary COBB induction system, allows the ST to breathe better, while an H&R coil over suspension and Steeda brakes help it stop and turn better than stock.
Leno talks racing with NASCAR racer Joey Logano
Wed, 02 Jul 2014Jay Leno has to be under significant pressure knowing the appetite his fans have for a new Jay Leno's Garage video every week. This time, Jay takes a break from his usual format (something he's been doing with some frequency as of late) and goes back to his roots as a talk show host. There's no classic in the garage his episode with an interesting story to tell and a sumptuous exhaust note. Instead, the focus is purely on interviewing 23-year-old NASCAR racer Joey Logano about what it's like to be a racecar driver in his Ford Fusion.
Logano started racing at the tender age of six and has risen up the circle-track ranks to the big show of the NASCAR Sprint Cup. The two of them talk about what it's like to compete in the sport today compared to yesteryear, and Logano shares some racing anecdotes. Of course, they also get into what it's like to be on the racetrack controlling a car with about 850 horsepower, a four-speed manual transmission and brakes without any power boost. Scroll down to watch the video.
Americans will get a four-cylinder Ford Mustang after all? [w/poll]
Sat, 09 Mar 2013Ask and you shall receive. Remember that previous report suggesting that the 2015 Ford Mustang getting a four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, and that it would be sold in Europe only and not the United States? Well, according to Road & Track, the rumor is only partially true - The Mustang will get the engine, but it is indeed coming to America.
Additionally, according to RT, the 3.7-liter V6 will continue to serve as the base engine, and since it offers up a stout 305 horsepower in its current form, it's likely that the 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost will produce a bit more than that. At the top of the range, the Mustang GT will continue to soldier on with a V8 engine, which should continue to send over 400 horsepower to the rear wheels.
Finally, while we agree 100 percent with RT's heartfelt request for a paddle-shift automatic, we certainly expect that the EcoBoost 'Stang will be offered with a manual transmission as standard equipment. This is a Mustang, after all...
