This is a beautiful example of a classic 1960 Thunderbird Convertible. Mechanically rebuilt engine, trans, new brake lines, new fuel lines, headers and new dual exhaust system with a sweet tone. Carburetor replaced with an Edelbrock for dependability. This is a California Car, purchased at San Jose Ford in Nov/1959, and is 100% rust free. It has been garaged for it's whole life, and loved by both of it's two owners.

This car is appreciating very dramatically as the market begins to realize how few of them exist in great condition. If I wasn't planning on leaving the country, there is no way I would sell this, but I must.

This was one of Fords first unibody constructed passenger vehicles, allowing for a much lower-to-the-ground, sleek look. Because they were unsure of how strong it would need to be to support a convertible top, a necessary feature for a T-bird, Ford made the frame of this car absolutely bulletproof and far stronger than they needed to be. This fact became evident to the demolition derby racers of the 1970's and 80's, and huge numbers of these cars were sacrificed to this end...contributing to the rarity of solid cars available today. The classic car market is just becoming aware of these facts, and, as an example, a 1960 Thunderbird Convertible, with a 15 year old restoration just sold at Mecum Auctions in Monterey for $34, 950. Mecum has sold others in showroom fresh condition for as much as $70,000.

This car has been rebuilt for dependability. You could feel comfortable taking this on long trips, or using as a daily driver.

It also comes with everything you need to return it to a numbers matching original car. I am the second owner. I have the original wheels, tires and hubcaps, original exhaust manifolds, carb, generator, and "cruise-a-matic" transmission..(has a C-6 now-much better transmission)

The interior has been completely redone with two-tone leather and a factory fresh dashboard cover. The original tube AM radio works!

She drives like a dream and loves the freeway...everywhere I go, heads turn! I'll miss her.

How the Ford Shelby Mustang came to be

Even as rumors swirl that the next-generation of high-performance Ford Mustang will drop the Shelby name, Ford has released a short video telling how the legend of the Shelby Mustang came to be. In its latest installment of its video series entitled Mustang Countdown, Ford dug up some footage from Carroll Shelby to give a little insight into how this automotive icon was created.
While it's definitely interesting to hear the late legend tell the story in his own words (including numerous references to the 1964 Mustang as a "secretary's car"), it's also pretty funny learning exactly how the Shelby GT350 got its name in the first place - a name allegedly making a comeback as the replacement for the current Shelby GT500. As development work continues on the 2015 Ford Mustang, the Shelby video posted below shows that the automaker is always looking at its past - even as it looks ahead to the future.

Twenty years ago today, ex-NFL linebacker Al "A.C." Cowlings drove his friend and onetime running back Orenthal James "O.J." Simpson on a parade lap of the Los Angeles highway system and onto an ignoble page of the history books. The Ford Motor Company has a lot of reasons to celebrate after winning eight categories in this year's Texas Auto Writers Association's annual Truck Rodeo. Most important among them, the Blue Oval's latest 2015 Ford F-150 earned the prestigious Truck of Texas award, ending the Ram 1500's two-year winning streak. The 2015 Lincoln MKC also grabbed the honor as the CUV of Texas, and Ford was named Truck Line of Texas.
FoMoCo even took trophies for best technology with its extensive use of aluminum on its latest F-Series and best commercial vehicle for the new Transit 250. It wasn't a total sweep, though, because the Jeep Grand Cherokee grabbed the title of the SUV of Texas for the fifth straight time.
This year's event put 60 auto writers in 75 pickups, SUVs and crossovers and challenged them to find the best in a plethora of categories. All of the winners are listed below, and scroll down to read the full announcements from the Texas Auto Writers Association and Ford.
