I am listing this car for a friend.

Up for sale is an extra clean 79 Ford T- bird.  The car is a one family owned and garage kept since it was purchased new in March of 1979.  The original owner used the car sparingly till she signed the car over to her daughter in 2005. The car spent quite a few years in dry storage, because the daughter didn't need the car, she kept it for sentimental reasons. Now both mother and daughter have decided it's time to let the car go on to a new owner. The car has had a recent tune up and electrical components replaced. This car runs perfectly quiet and smooth, no smoke, knocks, or any other noises. The car drives and rides like it did back in 1979, the trans shifts smooth through all the gears. This car is very presentable, clean and comfortable inside, the window and door seals are in perfect condition, no air, or water leaks inside the car. The car has a am. / fm. radio from Ford. The tires look to have close to 90% tread life left. The hubcaps and chrome trim are like new, the roof is very in nice condition. The original glass in in perfect condition, the manual windows go up and down very easy, everything works on the car, the doors close perfect, no sagging hinges, The car has a factory Super Seal rust proofing from Ford. They tell me, the car has always been well cared for.

Thanks so much for your time looking the old T Bird over. Remember to ask any questions you can think of while the auction is live.

Ford sells 7-millionth Explorer in America

Mon, 17 Nov 2014

Say what you will about the evolution of the Ford Explorer, from roofed Ranger to body-on-frame sport utility vehicle to unibody crossover - the bottom line is that it's been a tremendously successful model for Ford. In fact, the Blue Oval automaker has sold seven million Explorer models in the United States alone.
The milestone, marked nearly a quarter-century after the introduction of the original in 1990, comes on the eve of the introduction of a new Explorer at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week. We don't yet know how the new Explorer will shape up, but we're mere days away from finding out.
Now heading into its sixth generation, the Explorer has formed the basis of Ford's utility lineup for over two decades. The Explorer landed on the market right around the time that the Bronco was trailing off, predating the company's expansion into larger SUVs like the Expedition and Excursion and crossovers like the Escape, Edge and Flex.

Muscle wins big at 2013 Amelia Island Concours as 1936 Duesenberg, 1968 Ford GT40 take top honors

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

The 18th-annual Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance took place this past weekend, and in one of the show's biggest years yet (bringing in more than 25,000 spectators and attracting more than 300 vehicles), two powerhouses ended up winning the judges' hearts. The top Concours d'Elegance award went to a 1936 Duesenberg SJN, while the Concours de Sport went to one of the celebrated marques, a 1968 Ford GT40.
Owned by Helen and Jack Nethercutt of Sylmar, CA, this flawless Duesy is described as "one of the most powerful open cars of the 1930s," and it displays design cues of the era like rolled fenders and a tapered rear end. The SJN's supercharged straight-eight allowed it to accelerate to 100 miles per hour in just 17 seconds - surely not a disappointing feat for its day.
On a much different level of performance and timelessness, this Gulf-livery GT40 from the Rocky Mountain Auto Collection is not outdone by the elegance of the big Duesenberg thanks to some well-documented racing history. This not only includes winning at LeMans in both 1968 and 1969 - Chassis No. 1075 also managed to win a total of six times in just 11 races.
