Selling a nice 2004 Ford Ranger XLT with the flareside (stepside) bed. This truck is in very good condition with only 92000 miles. It is black with gray interior and there is no rust anywhere on the body. It is the XLT package and has cruise control, factory cd player, upgraded factory wheels, and bench seat with fold down arm rest. It starts right up and drives great. I wouldn't hesitate to get in it and drive anywhere in the country! Clutch and trans shift smooth, brakes have plenty of life left, tires are 75%, and everything works as it should. The body is in good condition with no rust and only has minor scratches/ding here and there- nothing major. Black is a hard color to photo in the sunlight so there are a few pics that look like blemishes but they are not. It comes with an extra pair of steel wheels with brand new studded snow tires for anyone living up north. This truck wasn't really driven much in the winter so I never put them on. The interior could use a little cleaning (car wash's cleaner was broken today) but is in good condition with tears in seat and no cracks in the dash. Never been smoked in, all glass is good, etc. Best part of this truck is the phenominal gas mileage. It is rated 27mpg hwy and it easily will get that. It's the best rated mpg truck made to my knowledge. This truck will sell with NO RESERVE to the high bidder so bid to win! $100 paypal deposit due within 48 hours, full payment due in cash in person within 7 days. ANY other arrangements must be made prior to the auction end. Any questions, don't hesitate to give me a call at 563-676-2032. If you want to fly in and drive home, Moline Int Airport (MLI) is only 10 miles away and I would be happy to pick you up at the airport if needed.

Ford trademarking 'Mach 1,' possibly for Mustang
Thu, 24 Oct 2013A legendary name might be accompanying the redesigned, 2015 Mustang when it finally makes its world debut - Mach 1. Stumbled upon by the team at Ford Authority, the Mach 1 title was found in a trademark filing with the US Patent and Trademark Office, and would revive a name last used on the fourth-generation, 2003 Mustang.
While the the 2003 vintage was well and good, the Mach 1 is really remembered for a three-year run from 1969 to 1971 - it's best to just forget the emissions-choked 1972 to 1978 Mach 1s - when power output ranged from a modest 250 horsepower with the two-barrel, 351-cubic-inch Windsor V8 to "375 hp" (actual output was rumored to be well north of 400 horsepower) with the righteous, 429-cubic-inch Super Cobra Jet V8.
What does the title hold for the sixth-generation Mustang? It's tough to say. The fanatics at Ford Authority seem to think Mach 1 could take the place of the Shelby GT500 at the top of the Mustang hierarchy, which sounds like a valid argument. At the same time, we could see the SVT Cobra moniker returning for the flagship model, and the Mach 1 doing battle with the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 (unless the Boss 302 were to return). Confounding things is the historical precedent - the Mach 1 was responsible for the death of the Mustang GT in 1969, so it might make sense as a volume performance model.
Subaru Legacy pitted against Roadkill project cars
Fri, 05 Sep 2014There's an evergreen debate among auto enthusiasts about whether they would prefer to have the latest and greatest car of today or a certified classic from yesteryear. What if you had to further define that, though, and the choice was between a brand new 2015 Subaru Legacy or a turbocharged Datsun 240Z with a hatch that wouldn't close? Roadkill aimed to find out that and more in one of its best videos to date.
According to the hosts, Subaru came to them, handed over some money and challenged Roadkill's project cars against its latest Legacy. The result is every bit as good (or better) than any automotive-themed show you could find on television.
Things start simple with a figure-eight race in a rodeo arena with the Subaru taking on Roadkill's 1968 Ford Ranchero, originally built for ice racing. From there the Legacy races a 1968 Dodge Charger with no windows around and off-road rally stage. Finally, the Subie goes head-to-head against the Rotsun, the aforementioned turbocharged 240Z, through an abandoned neighborhood. Plus, there's a bonus drag race challenging them all.
Former Ford CEO Mulally won't run for president
Mon, 15 Sep 2014Alan Mulally will not be following his successful term as president and CEO of Ford Motor Company with a run at an even bigger presidency. Rumors that the 68-year-old former Boeing exec would make a run at the White House sprouted after his apparent dodging of a reporter's questions about a potential candidacy during a forum in Indianapolis.
"I really think it's important that we all pull together. We really need to pull together around a compelling vision for our country and a comprehensive strategy to do it and work together. We really need to do it," Mulally said at the conference, according to The Detroit News.
He's since clarified by saying, "[I'm] honored at the suggestion, but that is not a role I am considering."
