This truck was Lowered and Mini Tubbed in the summer of 2011, The rear end is an 8.8 positrac with 3:73 gears and 31 spline Moser axles. The inner wheel wells were moved in 2" and the bed spray lined by Scorpion bed lining. The springs were moved from outside the frame rails to under the rails using Ford Explorer mounts and the frame was C-notched. It has 15x5 front wheels with 155/80R15 B.F. Goodrich tires and the rear has 15X10 with 275/60R15 B.F. Goodrich tires, tires were New in 2011.It has 3" drop beams and New Upper and Lower Ball Joints, also New Inner and Outer Tie Rod ends and Drag link. New shocks and the brakes were replaced completely including New hardware and hoses. I used Timken, Moog, FoMoCo, Raybestos Wagner and Energy Suspension parts to name a few. I didn't use the cheap parts because I had planned to put a 5.0 from a Mustang GT in it for myself to drive. It is an A/C truck. When I bought it had the factory 2.9 V6 with a Koyo 5 Spd. I found a truck with a 2.3 4 Cyl. and a Mazda 5 Spd. that had been wrecked with about 87000 miles on it. I changed everything over everything and those who have looked at it say they couldn't tell the engine wasn't factory. I put a factory Ford 2.3 header on it. and at the time I changed the motor and trans I took the head off and had it checked for cracks I reinstalled the head with New head gasket, Water pump and timing belt and also installed an New Clutch Pressure plate and throw out bearing, pilot bearing. I also changed the plugs, wires and coils at that time. The truck runs and drives very well. Great start on a V8 Ranger or just a toy as it is. I also have some extra parts included, Traction bars, Rear bumper off a Bronco II and a low back 60/40 bench seat also a crack free dash. The truck shows 98422 on the odometer the motor and trans now have around 100,000 on them. |

Mulally to stay at Ford through end of 2014 at least
Fri, 06 Dec 2013Alan Mulally isn't going anywhere... at least not just yet. The CEO who helped turn around Ford Motor Company has been linked to the top job at tech behemoth Microsoft, leading to a flurry of rumors about potential successors. Those rumors, though, may have just been put to rest - at least for a little while.
Speaking to Edsel Ford II (great-grandson of company founder Henry Ford) at the unveiling of the new Mustang, Automotive News Europe confirmed that Mulally would stick around until the end of next year. "Alan is staying through the end of 2014 and that's all I know," said Ford. "Frankly, he has told us that his plan is to stay with Ford through the end of 2014."
Presuming that Edsel Ford is correct and that Microsoft isn't so hot on Mulally that it saves the position for him, it seems increasingly likely that the 68-year-old exec is more interested in continuing to work in Dearborn rather than in Redmond.
Ex-GM VP LaNeve takes over Lincoln ad agency
Wed, 10 Apr 2013Those of you that caught yesterday's op-ed about Lincoln will have heard already, but Mark LaNeve has taken the helm at Team Detroit. Once the North American vice president of sales, service and marketing for General Motors, LaNeve will now head up the agency that handles all of Ford advertising. LaNeve will also run the account for Lincoln. While at GM from 2001 to 2009, the exec oversaw ad campaigns like Cadillac's Breakthrough and sales initiatives like "Employee Pricing for Everyone."
He left in 2009 to join Allstate as chief marketing officer, oversaw the creation of the Mayhem ad spots and was moved into the role of VP of agency operations overseeing Allstate's 10,000 agents. He resigned from the insurer in February 2012 for personal reasons and joined Team Detroit in August 2012 as chief operating officer, in charge of satellite offices in New York and internationally. He replaces ex-CEO Cameron McNaughton, and will continue to hold the title of COO.
Lincoln is trying to get its 2013 back to rights after putting big dollar commercials for the 2013 MKZ on television then having production glitches preventing cars from getting to dealerships. With rumors of a relaunch in the works, it's no surprise LaNeve has been given the reins - and from here it looks like the brand is desperate for the kind of magic he's proved he can marshal. Perhaps he can start by calling a mulligan on the renaming exercise that gave us the hoary "Lincoln Motor Company" and go back to oh, say, "Lincoln." Then he can ask the product folks to get to work on the MKC concept...
2015 Ford Mustang will tell authorities how you crashed and if you were belted [w/video]
Sat, 28 Jun 2014When the 2015 Ford Mustang hits dealers, it will be with a new batch of features that will power up Sync's 911 Assist feature, and provide an even greater degree of information to first responders in the event of an accident.
911 Assist will already make a phone call, via a Bluetooth-connected phone, should you bin your car. The automatic message to first responders is a pre-recorded blurb from Ford. With the new enhancements, though, emergency personnel can learn about the maximum change in velocity and whether the crash involved a front, rear, side or a rollover impact. 911 Assist will also send information about how many seat belts were in use and if airbags deployed, allowing more accurate dispatch of resources.
"Sync will only broadcast relevant information to save time, and it constructs a very efficient message for the operator," said David Hatton, the global project leader with Ford Connected Services. "After the introductory message, the voice line opens automatically and occupants can speak directly with the operator via Sync's hands-free functionality."
