PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY: I will try to explain this the best I can. In 1979 the vehicle with vin#2A48Q189576 was rear ended and totaled out by the insurance company.  The previous owner found another 1972 Ranchero with vin#2A47F288864, this is the body that is housing every item from the original 1972 Ranchero including the rare q-code vin number dash board and has a clear Florida title for vin#2A48Q189576  also have the clear title to 2A47F288864. This Ranchero has a 351 Cleveland Cobra Jet roller motor that was professionally rebuilt and 4 speed trans. a very Fast Car .  The dash board with a full instrument cluster is in excellent shape no cracks and all instruments work.  The door panels are in excellent shape.  The seats are in good shape, drivers seat does have 2 rips.  As far as mechanicals this car runs and can be driven now only thing that may need replaced is the throw out bearing on the clutch which is an easy fix. The frame and floors are in good shape but the body has rust in places. Car has 9 inch ford rear end not sure what the gears are.  I could go on and on about this car,  fixed it up and have a great and fast classic.  Feel free to contact me by e-mail.

Project Ugly Horse alive and kicking at Road & Track

Thu, 29 Aug 2013

The hallways of the Autoblog campus are much quieter now that Zach Bowman has taken his prose, along with his welders, wrenches and hammers, over to the digital pages of Road & Track, but that doesn't mean our favorite project Mustang is gone forever. Project Ugly Horse is still coming along, and Zach has gifted us another update on his unfoxy Fox Body.
Last we saw of the Ugly Horse, Zach was strengthening up the '89 Mustang's chassis as he prepares to stuff the turbocharged, direct-injected EcoBoost engine of a Ford Focus ST under the hood. First things first, the old mill must go. Head on over to Road & Track to catch the latest chapter of Project Ugly Horse.

Ford talking unibody Ranger replacement

Mon, 18 Feb 2013

Now here's some welcome news. Car and Driver reports Ford is seriously mulling a replacement for the recently deceased Ranger, but the successor to the compact pickup's throne may not look anything like what we've seen from the nameplate in the past.
While speaking at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, Doug Scott, marketing manager for Ford Trucks, said there's still a market for a smaller pickup, but that buyers expect to see a larger differentiation between the smaller utility vehicles and their full size counterparts in price, capability and fuel economy.
According to Scott, that means a vehicle with a payload capacity of around 1,000 pounds paired with a towing capacity of 3,000 pounds and "a dramatic reduction in fuel consumption." But the biggest piece of that recipe is the price tag, and Scott says to keep the MSRP far enough away from the already cheap F-150, the answer could come in the form of a unibody design. Scott says target customers in this market don't care whether the truck has a traditional frame or not, so long as it's tough enough to do the job and has the capability they need.

Mulally confirms he's not leaving Ford for Microsoft

Tue, 07 Jan 2014

In recent months, rumors had been flying about Ford CEO Alan Mulally potentially leaving the company to take a position at Microsoft. Last we heard, Mulally was planning to stick around at Ford through at least 2014, and in an interview today, that bit was confirmed by the CEO himself.
According to the Associated Press, in a report from The Detroit News, Mulally said he will not be leaving Ford for Microsoft, and reiterated that he will remain at the Blue Oval through 2014, if not longer. Mulally has "no plans other than to serve Ford," according to the report.
Mulally did not say whether or not he had been in talks with Microsoft at any point. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has said he plans to leave the software company sometime this year.
