Up for sale is my 1995 Ford Probe GT. I am the second owner of the vehicle and used it to commute to and from work for about a year. The car is a great vehicle, low mileage for the year and it has a fun to drive 2.5L V6 with 5 speed. After a year of driving the car, I got a company car through my work and didn't drive it much, but still liked the little Probe. The car wasn't driven much for about 2 years as I had a company car, but I did take it out on weekends and around town to run it. The car is mostly stock with the exception of a cold air intake and a test pipe for the exhaust which takes away the cat converter. I have all the original air intake and catalytic converter. The car passed NJ inspection with flying colors, but if you live in NJ and want me to reinspect it should you win, I will do so for an additional $100.00. I purchased new tires about 1 year ago and have only put about 2000 miles on them, I also brought it to a local mechanic for a tune and checkup at that time. The car needed a new radiator and a new distributor and crank position sensor. I also put new brakes on the car and new rear calipers. I have had the oil changed on this car every 3500 miles and have taken good care of it, however it is an older car and despite the low mileage it does still need a few things. The car needs a new battary as the one thats in there now runs down and the gauge on the dash shows it's low. The car also has a hole in the exhaust near the muffler so it's louder than usual. Honestly, I was between putting Borla exhaust and a new battery or selling it for money for a ring for my girl. It came down to keeping the girl and with this being an older car other things can come up that need fixing and being that I don't drive it that much, it's just not worth it for me to put money into it. The exterior of the car is ok for it's age, it has a few small dents on the hood, sides and roof. The paint of the rear bumper is faded and the PS FR fog light is missing. The PS of vehicle has a dent in the quarter panel and as a result it's caused a gap near the ps hatch lid. Also, the ps rear window is not cemented at the bottom. If you are looking for a mint condition Probe, this is not your car...However if you are looking for a good probe with low miles and a couple easy mechanical fixes and you don't mind the body having a dent on the PS, this a great vehicle for you. The car is being sold AS IS. I will not ship the car, so if you are the winning bidder you can come and get it or arrange shipping. If you would like to come see the car, please email me, I do work long hours on weekdays and some weekends but I can make a time that you can come out. If you have any questions please email me. The car battery is low, but if you want to drive it home I can throw a trickle charger on it overnight and charge it up for you. I have tried to describe the vehicle to the best of my knowledge, but I am not a mechanic. The car is 17 years old and being that I don't drive it much there could be other things that need fixing, but I am not aware of it. The car is sold as is and where is. There are no warning lights on the dash and all accessories work well. A/C is cold, heat is hot, radio works. The power antenna works but sometimes doesn't extend fully. I usually give it a shot of WD every once and a while and that works. For winning bidder, 500 deposit due via Pay Pal within 48hrs of winning auction and the rest paid cash upon pickup. I have the title in hand and still have an active insurance policy on vehicle so if you come to look, I can take you for a ride. The mileage on the car has been listed, however I may be driving the vehicle locally or for test rides so it might change slightly. I have a video of a walk around car and car running at http://youtu.be/gZILey_FHvg

Man turns Ford Fiesta into a one-car band

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

The one-man band is a rather ridiculous idea, drawing up images of one person attempting to manipulate several instruments, at once, in a vain attempt at creating music. It's usually represented by silly scenes like this. Interestingly, the concept isn't much more successful when the "man" in "one-man band" is replaced with "car," as we see in this video.
It seems that someone rigged up and edited (699 times, we might add) a Ford Fiesta, a bucket, 12 PVC pipes and the natural sounds that a car makes to come up with a song. Now, we don't recognize the tune, so we've no idea if this is a cover or an original piece. And while it's hardly Beethoven, we have to admire the amount of effort the "conductor" went to in his attempt to turn a subcompact car into a musical instrument(s). Take a look (or listen) below for the entire video.

Ford Escort Concept goes back to basics

Fri, 19 Apr 2013

Here's the thing about China: The folks buying cars there have a very different set of standards than shoppers in many other markets around the globe. While we all drool over hot metal with bold designs, and while we appreciate automakers going an extra step to inject even their cheapest offerings with aggressive and interesting cues, that sort of sheetmetal sex appeal doesn't always sell in the People's Republic. Case in point is Jaguar, which may be designing a more traditional-looking version of its XJ for the Chinese market, or more to the point of this story, Ford currently sells the less-exciting, last-generation Focus compact in China right alongside the new one.
So consider this new Shanghai-bound C-segment concept a preview of what's to come for that more traditional, budget-minded, less-sexy market. More proof of this pudding: Ford's even calling this concept the Escort - a nod to the Blue Oval's compact car days of yore, and a name that stirs up thoughts of basic, affordable transportation rather than great driving dynamics or bold design. "Customers in China described seeking a vehicle that is stylish - but not one that is arrogant or pretentious," Ford states. And this new Escort concept previews a possibility of providing exactly that for this rapidly expanding automotive market.
What you're looking at, then, is one of the most simple Ford designs we've seen of late, though it still incorporates all of the automaker's latest DNA. The signature hexagonal grille is front and center, flanked by attractive LED headlamps and chrome-rimmed foglamp housings. The entire car's design focuses on clean, smooth surfaces, with one strong character line flowing from front to back just below the beltline. We will say that the car looks decidedly more premium from the rear view, where narrow, horizontal taillamps with an LED accent give the car added visual width. Bland as it may be, it's a handsome little concept, though fear what would likely happen if all of the conceptual details get dumbed down for a production model.

Ford F-150 SVT Raptor sales jumping to new heights

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

Ford can't seem to build F-150 SVT Raptors fast enough. The off-road-ready trucks have been one of the Blue Oval's most reliable sellers, with record sales in eight of the last 10 months and a 14-percent jump in 2013. That's impressive enough, considering that the least expensive Raptor starts at $44,000. Factor in the modded F-150's fuel economy (it's rated at 11 miles per gallon in the city and 16 on the highway) and a national average gas price, as of this writing, of $3.55 per gallon, and its success is as unlikely as Ford's home team, the Detroit Lions, winning the Super Bowl this year (sorry, Lions fans, we're just quoting the experts in Vegas...).
Yet for some reason, Raptors spend an average of just 15 days on dealer lots before being snapped up, which is a quarter of the 60-day industry average. According to Ford's truck group marketing manager, Doug Scott, it's capability that keeps the Raptor selling strong. "What's helping drive Raptor sales is that Raptor delivers unmatched off-road performance to our customers. Raptor is also proof of our commitment to offer a truck for every customer and continuously improving them to meet our customers' evolving needs."
To address the strong demand for Raptors, Ford will bump production from three trucks per hour to five. Not much, we agree. But building an extra 48 trucks per day, at most, seems like a prudent way of addressing demand without oversaturating what is ultimately a niche market. Check out the press release below for more.
