SELLING A COOL OLD TRUCK, I FOUND IT IN A GARAGE ABOUT A YEAR AGO. IT IS AN OLD SCHOOL HOT ROD. IT IS A 1950 FORD F1. BUT YEARS AGO SOME ONE INSTALLED A 57 STUDEBAKER 289 V-8. IT IS FAST I DID NOT KNOW STUDES MOVED LIKE THAT. HERE IS WHAT I DID TO THE TRUCK SINCE I HAVE HAD IT. NEW FIBERGLASS FRONT FENDERS, UPPERS AND LOWERS. ALL NEW BRAKES. NEW MASTER CYL, NEW WHEEL CYL, NEW SHOES, AND LINES. IT STOPS JUST FINE. NEW FEUL PUMP. ( I WAS SURPRISED ,NAPA STILL CARRYS PARTS FOR A STUDEBAKER). NEW WINDSHEILD, AND NEW BACK GLASS. HEADLIGHTS WORK BOTH HIGH AND LOW BEAMS, HAS TAIL LIGHTS AND BRAKE LIGHTS. THE ONLY THING STOPPING THIS FROM BEING A DAILY DRIVER IS THAT THE GAS TANK NEEDS CLEANED OUT A LITTLE BETTER. IT TENDS TO PLUG UP THE FILTER ABOUT EVERY 10 MILES. THE FLOOR OF THE BED WAS GONE, I JUST HAVE A SHEET OF PLY WOOD IN THERE. THERE ARE A FEW SPOTS IN THE SIDES OF THE BED AND ON THE REAR FENDERS, WHERE I WELDED IN A PATCH OR TWO. LOOKS OK FOR A DAILY DRIVER OR A PARTS RUNNER. BUT NOT SHOW QUALITY. THE BOTTOM OF THE DOORS ARE GONE. THEY WILL NEED PATCHED. I TOOK A CLOSE UP OF THEM. THE CAB CORNERS WERE SOLID, AS WELL AS THE CAB FLOOR. NOT PERFECT BUT SOLID. IT HAS THE ORIGINAL SEAT BUT NEEDS RECOVERED. GUAGES ARE THERE BUT NOT SURE IF THEY WORK. I UNHOOKED THE WIRE THAT FEEDS THEM SO I WOULD NOT BURN THEM UP, WHEN I SWITCHED THE LIGHS AND IGINITION OVER TO 12 VOLTS. DOOR GLASS ON DRIVERA SIDE IS CRACKED (20 BUCKS) AT A GLASS SHOP. THE WINDSHEILD ONLY WAS $50 THE WING WINDOWS ARE CRACKED AS WELL. FRAME IS STILL SOLID MOTOR RUNS , TRANS IS GOOD, REAR END IS GOOD. IF YOU LIVED CLOSE 10 MILES OR LESS YOU COULD DRIVE IT HOME. NEEDS AN EXHAUST. HAS MANIFOLDS AND ABOUT 10" OF PIPE ON EACH SIDE. RUNNING BOARDS ARE HAVE SOME HOLES,BUT ARE STILL STRONG ENOUGH TO STAND ON. HAS A SMALL WATER LEAK AT THE WATER PUMP AND A SMALL OIL LEAK. NOT TO SURE IF THE BATT IS CHARGING. THE VENT ON THE COWL BEHIND THE HOOD IS RUST AROUND THE EDGES. TIRES ARE OLD AND HARD. THEY ARE 15". THERE IS AN OLD PATCH MADE BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER ON THE PASS SIDE REAR FENDER, DOWN BY THE RUNNING BOARD. I TOOK A CLOSE UP OF THIS, SINCE IT WAS THERE I LEFT IT ALONE. Jurassic Park made a big impact on these Jeep drivers
Thu, 12 Jun 2014For a certain cohort of young folks, Jurassic Park is a touchstone film from their childhood. Not only did it play into practically every little boy's love of dinosaurs, the movie included some great action scenes and special effects that still hold up today. In its latest video, The Aficionauto takes a look the Jurassic Park Motor Pool, a California car club with over 40 fans who created replica vehicles from the iconic film.
The club is made up of an interesting cross-section of people. Many of them were Jeep Wrangler fans that already loved off-roading and Jurassic Park, and liked the idea of bringing them together. Like any close-knit club, it ends up being about community and people coming together to share their interests. It's quite a heartwarming video. 2013 Shelby 1000 unleashes its 1,200 horsepower ahead of NY show reveal
Fri, 22 Mar 2013True story: Last fall, I had the opportunity to spend a week with Ford's new 2013 Shelby GT500 - the Blue Oval's factory Mustang with 662 horsepower and 631 pound-feet of torque. It's an amazing beast, to be sure. I'm not sure if it was Michigan's damp streets strewn with potholes and wet leaves, but at no point did I ever say to myself, "You know, Ford is on to a really good thing here, but what it really needs is about twice the power." And yet, for people in warmer climes with infrastructure in better nick - or for those whose muscle cars live their lives out on the track, there's apparently sufficient demand to warrant just such a beast.
Quick studies will recall that Shelby American launched its 1000 last year to commemorate its 50th anniversary, but it is returning to the New York Auto Show with a fresh version based on the 2013 GT500 I drove. The 2013 Shelby 1000 whips up 1,200 horsepower on pump gas thanks to beefed-up forced induction, engine internals and cooling. Wisely, it also incorporates an adjustable suspension and big brake package to make sure those ponies have the best chance being safely deployed to the ground.

Are you Ford's next Bullitt Mustang? [w/poll]
Thu, 27 Mar 2014Ford has a long history of offering special editions of its legendary Mustang. One of the most vaunted of those trim packages, though, has only been offered twice. The first time was in 2001, and then again in 2008. Yes, we're talking about the Bullitt.
Named for the infamous Dark Highland Green Mustang Fastback driven by Steve McQueen in the 1968 cop melodrama Bullitt, the car was famous for not just its pilot, but the high-speed chase it took part in during the movie. Now, we think we have images of the next Bullitt.
According to our spy photographers, the paint is a "dead-ringer" for the Dark Highland Green that has signified these special edition Mustangs. While we're inclined to agree, it's also worth pointing out that this shade looks very similar to one of the 2015's other new colors, Guard. We've yet to see one on the road (let alone in such dreary conditions), so it's tough to say for certain.
