1950 Ford F-1 Truck

I got this truck from a lady, and it was her great grand fathers truck, and it appears to have been keep inside most of it life because it is so solid. The wood in the bed appears to be the original wood, and it is still in good solid condition. It has the original ford windshield, one vent window, and back glass, but the back glass needs to be replaced because it has a crack in it. The V8 flathead runs great, and doesn't smoke, you just hit the starter, and it fires right up, and the brakes are in working condition. I just changed the oil, oil filter, and spark plugs. It has the rarer 3-speed on the column, you just don't see many 48 to 50 ford trucks with this option most where floor shift. It has a older repaint in the original color, and it still looks good with the normal paint chips here and there. The body is in great solid condition with no rust repair are patch panels, it does have some small beginning places that are in the lower front of both doors, and one small spot in the lower right front fender just below the grill, but these places are small, but did want to point them out, I took pictures of these three small areas. All the fenders where they meet the running boards are solid, and rust free. All the doors, hood, windows, and front air vent work as they should. Everything works except the speed-o-meter, the gauges, heater, lights, and wiper all work. The gas tank, and radiator are clean, and in great condition. The front rims, and spare are the original ford 15" rims, but the rear rims are a later 15", the tires need to be replaced if you are going to drive it on the road, they have some dry rot, and some flat spots from sitting in the garage for the past 7 years. The truck is being sold on a bill of sale only, but I can get a current Georgia tag for it if you need it to get a tag are title in your state. Georgia didn't have titles until 63 so I can't get a title for it.  All zero feedback bidders please check with me before bidding are I will have to cancel your bid. I reserve the right to end the auction early. If you have any questions you can email me are call my cell at 404-867-3163

Ford, GM to collaborate on 9- and 10-speed transmissions

Mon, 15 Apr 2013

Back in October, there were reports that General Motors and Ford Motor Company were hard at work co-developing new nine- and ten-speed automatic transmissions, and now both automakers have confirmed this joint operation. While there are no specific vehicles mentioned to receive either transmission, a collaborative press release issued by GM and Ford mention that the transmission will be designed for front- and rear-wheel-drive cars, crossovers, trucks and SUVs.
These aren't the first powertrain components developed jointly between these cross-town rivals, either. The six-speed automatic currently used in vehicles like the Ford Edge, Ford Fusion, Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Equinox was engineered in a similar fashion. As is the case with this existing transmission, both automakers will assist in the design, development and testing of the new transmissions, but each will build its own units in its own factories. Scroll down for the official press release.

Hennessey completes first VelociRaptor SUV conversion [w/video]

Mon, 20 May 2013

Start with a Ford F-150 SVT Raptor as your base vehicle for modification, and chances are high that you'll end up with something pretty cool. Now, have those modifications done by professional lunatics Hennessey Performance, make the project turning the pickup into an ultra-long SUV, and the result stands a real chance of being a total kick in the ass. Let us present the Hennessey VelociRaptor then, in all of its awesomeness.
Hennessey has taken care in grafting a "Expedition style" rear cabin onto the Raptor, complete with an optional third row. The pictures we have show a cabin that's up to the fit and finish standards of the original Ford truck, too. The cab added over the bed also makes room for a massive load space out back, accessible via split out-folding doors and long enough for a person to lay down in (see video).
Mechanically, the truck-turned-SUV sticks with Ford's stock 6.2-liter V8, rated at 411 horsepower, or can be had with a supercharger and some 600 hp. Hennessey says the stock-motor VelociRaptor will run from 0-60 miles per hour in 7.5 seconds, while the hi-po version takes just 5.9 seconds. The SUV does take some of the off-road ability away from the Raptor, with the company saying it hasn't yet had the opportunity to test its capabilities. On-roading and "moderate off-road duties" are the current prescription.
