-You are bidding on a VERY Nice 1947 Pickup Truck!  This truck is in great shape.  It runs and drives excellent and the body on this truck is in great shape!  Paint color is street-rod black and trimmed in red.  It has a very strong running 350 V-8 motor that is backed with a 350 turbo automatic transmission.  Runs and shifts out just as it is supposed to.  This little street rod will get you all of the attention you want.  I get thumbs up everywhere I go!!!!  It will cruise down the HWY at 70 mph with no problems.  You can fly in and drive this truck home....it runs THAT STRONG!  It has all new limo tinted glass. The interior is in great shape and has a new dash with all new gauges.  Has a good set of bucket-seats, but It is in need of a head-liner.   Speed-O works, but not hooked up.  So, not sure of the true mileage on the truck.  Heater works and runs great.  Lights and signals are working.  It has a brand new Pioneer CD player and sounds great while you're cruisin' down the road enjoying your new ride!  It also has new dual exhaust that really makes it sound good!  Truck is setting on a brand new set of Kokar radial tires and a new set of smoothie wheels that cost approximately $1700 (which I just purchased) and it gives this truck that "Old School Gangster" look.   This truck has a GM front clip and all of the front-end has been completely rebuilt.  I spent $1500 just in parts alone - labor cost not included.  It also has a 12 bolt GM rear-end.  If you are looking for a very dependable street rod that will get there and bring you back as well as impress everybody along the way!  If you don't like a lot of attention, then this truck is NOT for you.  :-)  I've tried to be as honest as I can with my description.  If you have any questions, feel free to call me.  This truck is being sold as is with no warranty implied.  Buyer is responsible for all shipping.  I will be glad to assist in anyway I can with loading the vehicle if needed.  Truck is being sold with miles exempt.

Terms of Payment:  I will accept cash, cashiers check, money order, or wire transfer.  Buyer will pay a non-refundable deposit of $1000 within 48 hrs at the end of the auction.  The remainder of the balance to be paid within 7 days of the end of auction date.

Again, please call with questions as I do not respond to e-mail inquiries.  Thank you very much!  Richard.  573-579-7310

Ford reveals concept trucks that ultimately became Atlas

Wed, 03 Apr 2013

The Ford Atlas Concept was one of the quiet success stories of the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, and now Ford has given us a quick glimpse as to how that creation came to be. Designers actually combined two early sketches to build the Atlas. One, called the Bullet Train, is a futuristic, aerodynamic creation, while the other, aptly named the Locomotive, features the squared off proportions we're familiar with.
Once designers settled on the truck's proportions, they began nailing down exactly which attributes they wanted the final design to have. The Concept's notched windshield originated as a forked glass roof that seamlessly transitioned into the windscreen.
Likewise, designers wanted to fit the truck's tailgate with a storage compartment for tools and a first aid kit, but settled on the dual-purpose step/cargo cradle. Interestingly enough, the concept's active aero shutter wheels actually originated in some of the earliest sketches. Check out the photos and slides here for a closer look.

Hurricane Sandy cost automakers 15,000 vehicles, may have ruined up to 200k

Wed, 07 Nov 2012

Hurricane Sandy was the largest Atlantic storm in US history, and its total economic impact is just now coming into view. According to Automotive News, Toyota, Chrysler, Nissan and Honda are set to scrap around 15,000 new vehicles ruined by the storm. Nissan alone accounts for about 40 percent of those, with 6,000 Nissan and Infiniti models deeded "un-saleable" due to damage. The company saw 56 dealerships shuttered due to the storm, but 51 of those have since reopened.
Toyota, meanwhile, had some 4,000 vehicles at its Newark port facility, and of those, 3,000 may be scrapped. An additional 825 were dealer inventory when they were ruined. Honda and Acura dealers are reportedly sending 3,440 vehicles to the salvage yard. By comparison, Chrysler weathered the storm fairly well with 825 units destroyed, while Hyundai suffered only 400 lost units and Kia scrapped around 200.
As you may recall, Fisker also suffered some losses, and Automotive News reports the manufacturer saw 320 Karma models damaged beyond repair. Ford and General Motors have yet to come up with estimates, and no automaker has commented on the full cost of replacing the vehicles.

Ford debuts Fusion NASCAR racer that edges closer to stock [w/video]

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

The sixth-generation NASCAR Sprint Cup racecar, which will make its competition debut at the 2013 Daytona 500 this weekend, marks the closest thing to a "stock car" that the sport has seen in more than 20 years. No longer using just stickers to distinguish the different brands, the image above shows the lengths NASCAR and automakers went in order to create a racecar design that more closely resembles the individual cars they represent.
Ford, one of the more open and vocal OEMs regarding the Gen6 car's development, is giving us a closer look at its racing version of the Fusion with a pretty revealing side-by-side comparison with last years' racer (click above for an expanded view). Aside from the more realistic front end and production-like body lines, the overall shape, dimensions and proportions have also been designed to give the racecar a more stock appearance. Most of the new racer was designed by the Ford Design Center, which the automaker says was the first time it has been so involved in the design process since the 1960s. Of course, one area the Sprint Cup Fusion really differs from the production Fusion is its Ford Racing 5.8-liter V8 producing around 850 hp. Can you say Fusion SVT?
