 This is a 2004 mustang base model coup which originally had a good running v6 3.9L. my plan was to  build this car up for my wife. I have a 2008 mustang Gt which I pulled the original 4.6L 3 Valve V8 out of WITH ONLY 15,000 MILES to replace with a GT500 engine. so out came the 4.6. so now I needed a doner car to put the 3 valve v8 in. so I opted for a 2004 body style. I have always liked the 99-04 body. So I searched for a clean, rust free, wreck free donor car. I found one in Chicago and I couldn't believe how clean it was. the dealer said it had come up from the south and was woman owned. I have to believe him because I found lots of lipstick and glitter all over in the car, and the under carriage of the car was virtually rust free, just normal surface and nothing even close like we see here in Michigan for a car being 10 yrs. old. The car was originally black and had a 3.9l v6. A perfect match for my plan and build. so I bought it took it home and started the build. im a big turbo guy so I wanted a twin set up and around 500RWHP with out going into the stock block. I already had the custom headers so it wouldn't take much. well halfway through the build my wife and I got news of a new baby on the way. so all plans to finish the car for her come to a stop and our priorities changed. we have now decided to just sell the car and focus on family and our first new born baby girl. so I finished the stuff I had started and this is what I have up to this point;

so here is where the car is at now, I painted it Sonic blue, at the end of last year before the snow flew, I have always loved this color and it is kinda rare. I have painted since I was a kid and have a pretty good method down.  this being said I  didnt put all the extra time in wet sand and buff to get rid of the small amount dust in the paint because I ran out of time and was just going to wait till spring, it cam out good with few flaws and with a little time and work could look great. I did all the Jambs and remover all the interior to do a true COLOR CHANGE. I masked off all the hood jambs and engine compartment so it was a nice clean job. (see pics) I added a Roush wing and Roush 2.5" side exhaust and tips. its pretty loud and has no cats and all is new including the mufflers. I switched the original auto out for a Mach 1 manual 5 speed that had 40,000 original miles on it.  this was $1000.00, the clutch and flywheel are original parts out of the 2008 and have the same 15,000 miles on them. I put a MGW short throw shifter in it with the original 2008 GT  shift knob. I switched the instrument cluster out for a 2004 gt model for the increase in rev limit and speedo. the wheels are 20" chrome GWG 10.5 rear and 8.5 front. rear tires are Nitto nt555R 275/40r20 and need to be replaced, not because of this car but from my Twin turbo 2008. they were on it originally,  the fronts are also nitto and have about 75% life left and are 245/40/20. I had to upgrade to the hydra-boost master cylinder that came in the v8 cars because the brake booster hit the valve cover. the car has a VIPER alarm system along with remote start but you will need to get a new alarm horn and hook up the rpm signal in order for the alarm sound function and for the remote start to work because it needs a RPM signal to work, though I would leave it unhooked due to the manual trans conversion. the leather interior is light gray and SUPER clean with no rips tears or marks. I could believe how clean it was for the age. I have a SCT tuner on the car to adjust for the new engine combo. I am a SCT certified tuner and dealer and have the tune very close. I never made it to a dyno to lock in numbers or the spark table but would recommend this be done in the future to maximize the combo. it drives very good with no issues or starting problems. this engine original had 300Hp and 320FLBS of torque, now with a tune and free flowing exhaust I would add 20hp and 15fls to those numbers. the motor has the BBR cam lock outs in order to eliminate the VCT which is not able to be controlled with the 2004 ECU. it also has the ford racing powder coated wrinkle blue valve covers. I put MSD ignition coils on it and it has a cobra throttle body. i put a SALEEN style front bumper cover on it also.  I also have the original good running 3.9l v6 and 4r70w trans that can go with the car if the buyer wants it at no extra cost except transport or shipping.  you will have to provide its own shipping/transportation if it is wanted to go with. I also have all the parts that came off the car originally that are included, front bumper cover, shifter, ect.....  the battery is new and less than a yr old. there are no significant stains in the carpet and no burns what so ever. I put a mach 1 grill delete kit in it also, I tinted the taillights and headlights and cleared them for long lasting protection. the wheels are around 3 years old and are just starting to shoe their age. they weren't very expensive rims so I didn't expect much for long lasting quality. but overall they still look good. there is a Lokar oil fill check dip stick on the engine too. the fuel pump was replace with the 2008 GT mustang pump to handle the increase in fuel demand.

The AC is unhooked and would need to have the GT modle lines purchased if it as to be hooked back up.

what it needs....... the pass side roush ground effect is scratched due to me and my stupidity. I rubbed my concrete step in my own driveway pulling out of the garage, so I would repaint it. the hood should have more of a cowl on it. it shuts but it touches the intake of the motor. I was going to go with the cobra R hood so this wasn't a concern but now that im selling it I have to mention it, this caused a spider web crack in the paint and is very light but I have to mention it.  the motor may be able to be lowered a 1/2" to clear but I never got this far. the rear bumper has a spot of paint missing on top, don't know how this happened. it was there when I pulled the cover off after the winter. this car is and was rust free, I have before paint pics to prove it. I know paint can hide a lot but this isn't how I buy my cars. I am a mustang fan and only purchase the best of cars in condition and no previous wrecks. I did this one right, all paint and trim was removed and all jambs were painted correctly, no half a$$ing anything. as I stated this was going to stay in the family but now things changed. I have tons of pics and can and will answer any questions on this car. this is a great foundation and could be a very serious street car with a little more time and care. I am up for offers on this and have a reserve of  $7750.00 and this will basically break me even on the mods alone, with the motor being basically free, no labor. if I cant get this I will just keep the car, its fun, looks good, and has a lot more potential. if you have question please ask, don't wait till 10 min before end of auction to ask as many do. im just saying... lol thanks and good luck......

Ford open to diesel, hybrid or electric Mustang? [w/poll]

Sun, 08 Dec 2013

The Ford Mustang may not be the first vehicle that comes to mind when you think of environmentally-friendly forms of transportation. The arrival of the turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the new Mustang could do a lot to combat that perception, but the EcoBoost engine may just be the tip of the iceberg in that regard.
Speaking with Ford powertrain boss Bob Fascetti at the reveal of the new Mustang in Australia, GoAuto reports that the Blue Oval automaker is considering offering its latest pony car with a diesel, hybrid or even electric powertrain in the future.
"We're not looking at diesel at the moment, but given where we need to go with fuel consumption we are looking at all our options," said Fascetti. Other options could include a nine- or ten-speed automatic transmission to replace the current six-speed unit in order to help improve fuel economy and emissions for the Mustang, although figures for the current lineup have yet to be revealed.

Reflecting on the Ford GT on its 10-year anniversary

Thu, 10 Apr 2014

Ten years ago, during the bright-eyed enthusiasm of the early 2000s and before the collective automotive industry did its best Titanic impression, we had the Ford GT. An everyman's supercar like there'd never been (remember, this was before 638-horsepower Corvettes were a thing), the GT arrived with a supercharged, 5.4-liter V8 that produced 550 horsepower and graced this retro-styled rocket with an easy, sub-four-second sprint to 60 miles per hour.
Equal to the GT's performance were its looks. Inspired by the GT40 racers that dominated Le Mans and bested Ferrari in the 1960s, the sleek, low, almost-reptilian look of the GT was the absolute pinnacle of the retro styling that so defined the early 2000s.
Crank and Piston put together a video celebrating the ten-year-old GT, arguing that Ford is a bit too busy with the next-gen Mustang, which turns 50 next week, to do it themselves. In the short clip, there is gratuitous engine noise and supercharger whine, not to mention scenes of the white-on-red GT prowling the deserts and streets of Dubai. It's a bit short, but very nicely shot. Scroll down, have a look and be sure to turn up those speakers before getting started.

Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost sales robust in early going

Tue, 13 May 2014

Okay, okay, okay, so I was just a smidge wrong. Those that read my review of the Ford Fiesta with the new 1.0-liter, EcoBoost engine will know that while I really enjoyed the torquey little three-cylinder, I was concerned that Ford's decision to force 1.0-liter owners into a manual transmission, steel wheels and one trim level might hurt sales of the new engine. I was also concerned that the promised 45-mile-per-gallon highway rating wouldn't be enough to tempt buyers into trying an engine that's so far outside of what the general public is use to. My concerns, though, seem to have been for naught.
While not doing a booming business on the triple-equipped Fiesta, Ford is seeing a take rate of four to eight percent per month in the engine's first few months on sale. Now, four to eight percent might not sound like a lot - if, like last year, the Fiesta sells around 71,000 units, there'd be barely 5,600 1.0-liter models on the road. It is also small potatoes relative to the take rate on EcoBoost-equipped vehicles across the Ford range, which US sales analyst Erich Merkle estimates to be roughly 35 to 40 percent of retail sales. Still, according to The Detroit News, the 1.0-liter is getting adopted at roughly the same rate as the sparkling Fiesta ST, which should be a solid indication of just how well this little engine is doing.
The 1.0-liter's success "really speaks volumes, not just to what we're doing with the Fiesta, but with EcoBoost in general," Merkle told Autoblog.
