Car has 2-tone leatherseats, A/C, power windows, power locks, power seat, power mirrors, cruisecontrol, radio, cd and cassette player with a Mach 460 Sound System and Perellitires. It is a 35th Anniversary Edition and has been stored winters. Car stillhas the 35th anniversary edition floor mats. (I switched them out with somegeneric floor mats to protect them). Color of car paint is metallic silver withblack paint in front of air scoop on hood. Other than a few small scratches, caris in excellent condition. I have owned the car for nearly 14 years andpurchased it from the original owner. There is a hum in the third gear which amechanic checked out years ago. His advice was to leave it alone, since it couldbe something as simple as a burr on the gear. Car has been taken good care ofand is great to drive! I also have a storage cover that goes with the car. Ford owns Automotive Loyalty Awards, Audi and Subaru are king of conquests
Thu, 23 Jan 2014Customers are a commodity in the automotive industry, and like any other commodity, automakers trade them back and forth. Only nobody wants to give up their customers - just to keep the ones they have and try to attract others.
That's what the Polk Automotive Loyalty Awards are all about. Every year the industry research body names the automakers, brands and models that manage to keep their customers coming back for more - and attract buyers to switch from other makes. Ford usually does pretty well, but this year it rose above even its own track record.
Not only did Dearborn win the Overall Loyalty to Manufacturer award, but also the Overall Loyalty to Make. Ford also took the African American category, and the F-150 was named the top full-size half-ton pickup in customer loyalty. Ford COO Mark Fields (pictured above) accepted the awards and gave the keynote address at the awards ceremony.
Ford C-Max Solar Energi takes a recharging station wherever it goes
Wed, 08 Jan 2014Companies ranging in size from small startups to major automakers have been experimenting with solar-powered charging stations for EVs and plug-in hybrids. And, of course, people have been powering vehicles with onboard solar panels for quite some time, too. Still, Ford's new C-Max Solar Energi Concept shows the promise of a truly practical implementation of solar on a production vehicle, and it may not be as far off in the future as we had thought.
As we reported a few days ago, the Solar concept makes use of a "concentrator lens" that focuses sunlight onto the Ford's roof-mounted solar panels. The special lens follows the rays of the sun to maximize the amount of charge being fed to the batteries of the car, taking about a day to fully charge the 21-mile, all-electric range of the C-Max Energi. Ford data suggests that combination might be enough to power 75 percent of all trips made by a statistically average driver. In turn, using the sun to power a vehicle could reduce yearly C02 emissions by up to four metric tons when compared with the driver of an average gasoline-powered sedan.

2015 Ford F-150 claims segment's best payload, towing ratings
Mon, 29 Sep 2014While we are set to drive the new, 2015 Ford F-150 in the coming days, there's a big piece of news on the latest-generation of the Blue Oval's bread-and-butter pickup coming out of Dearborn, and it focuses on the truck's hauling and towing abilities.
The new F-150 will have a maximum payload of 3,300-pounds (V8 models), and, perhaps more importantly, a 12,200-pound tow rating (EcoBoost V6 models), which for the first time are compliant with the Society of Automotive Engineer's J2807 standards. Those best-in-class figures are significant feathers in Ford's cap as the Detroit Three continue duking it out for the title of top pickup.
"As founding members of the SAE trailer towing committee, we will meet SAE trailer towing standards," Ford's Aaron Miller told Autoblog.
