Here is a VERY RARE 1992 Summer Edition Feature car! A 5 Speed no less, which makes it ULTRA rare! Ford only built 787 of these beauties with a 5 speed manual transmission, and only another 1600 or so with auto. This is the first year run of the fabled Feature Cars of 1992-1993, built to be collectables right from the factory.
What is the fastest appreciating Mustang of all? The Fox body cars, especially the 1987-1993 5.0 cars with 5 speed manual transmissions, as they are the rarest and most affordable of all. The Fox body cars are now enjoying the "renaissance" of their lives, with values skyrocketing, and parts suppliers running short of original OEM parts for repairs and restorations. Right now,the best segment of the Mustang hobby to be in, is the manufacturing of Fox body resto parts! WHY? The demand is out of this world!
If you missed the meteoric rise of the 65-73 prices and are now priced out of the market, GET INTO THIS CAR NOW! If you ever wanted a rare car, this one is for you! If you ever wanted a factory Hot Rod, this car is for you! If you ever wanted a RARE factory red Mustang, this car is for you!
The color on this car is Vibrant Red, a specific color for the Feature Cars of 1992. You will not see this color on any other Fox Mustang from the factory! Contrasted with White Leather Seats and top, these cars demanded way over sticker price when sold new. Loaded with All the options from Ford, they stickered nearly as high as a Corvette! Some forward thinking Richie-riches bought them for their collections, to be hidden away and enjoyed only for their beauty. Not this one! It has been lovingly enjoyed for 87065 actual miles by me and previous owners, and mildly modified with Ford factory Racing parts: Factory long-tube headers,a 3:73 rear end gear ratio (Very Quick!), Ford Explorer Intake manifold (lots of torque), Hurst 5 Speed shifter (original also comes with the car), and true dual Marauder style exhaust with the Factory polished tips. Catalytic converters are still in place. The photos show it all!...

The body panels are all original, and have the factory VIN stickers on each panel applied by the UAW workers in June 1992. Showing no signs of repaint, it is starting to shed a little clear coat on the right rear 1/4 panel. But painting it is out of the question for me...it's too nice all over, and it's only original once!!

The tires have approximately 1000 miles on them, and still look new with no wear. Brakes are good, engine is as strong as the day it was new, no smoking or noises, and a very small, light leak on the right side of the oil pan where the gasket is a little weak. The transmission shifts perfectly, all 5 gears are strong and smooth. The A/C does NOT blow cold, all parts are present and intact, it has leaked down over the years and needs recharging, and the apparent leak found and fixed. The top is great, with no tears, and the plastic rear window is perfect. It does need a good cleaning, as white shows everything!
All lighting works correctly, Non-factory stereo is great, windows, locks, and power mirrors all work correctly. Cruise control works, power top works, but could use a small amount of adjusting, as I am a perfectionist! Don't get me wrong, it goes up and down as it should, but a convertible top guy could make it close without it making a squeak! Time is my problem, as I am out of town so much.

What does it need?
It has a pin-hole exhaust leak on the passenger side header, and could be easily repaired by swapping out the headers back to the factory originals included in the auction, or the exhaust shop could weld up the hole in minutes.
The rear end gear, as stated is a 3:73, which makes the speedometer read 10 MPH fast at all speeds. In other words,at 45, it shows you are going 55. It could be fixed by any speed shop with a lift for about 50 bucks, but I haven't been able to take it in,as I am out of town a lot.
I mentioned the A/C earlier,it needs a recharge and a leak fixed, but it's all there. But I never ride with the top down and the A/C on, do you?
And last, YOU!

Take a look, one of these just went to almost 12k and didn't sell! You can drive mine home today for $7500!

Focus STs for SEMA include Lotus and Gulf liveries, rally-fied police car

Tue, 22 Oct 2013

Ford, as we mentioned on Saturday, is pulling out all the stops for November's SEMA show, bringing 57 vehicles to the Las Vegas event. Ford will be staggering the release of its SEMA flotilla, though, so expect to hear a lot about the new additions to the fleet in the weeks to come. We already showed you the Fiesta, Fiesta ST and Mustang models that made up the first batch of SEMA cars. Next up, we have a quartet of modded Focus STs joining Ford's SEMA roster.
Our first Focus ST (pictured above) sports the legendary livery of Gulf Racing. The orange-on-blue scheme, which Ford helped make famous at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, has been updated for 2013, with a more vibrant blue. This ST was built by Universal Technical Institute, while the exterior was done by Neil Tjin of Tjin Edition. Side exhausts, a Vortech supercharger and a Motiv Concepts high-flow cat allow the ST to breathe a bit easier, while Forgestar wheels contrast well with the iconic paint scheme.
Focus ST number two has been done-up by PM Lifestyle and is inspired by "Southern California car culture." Sporting a sleek, pale blue paint job, there's also no shortage of carbon fiber on the car's exterior. The 2.0-liter, turbocharged, four-cylinder engine has been massaged by the likes of Banks Power, COBB Tuning and Ford Racing, while the suspension is wearing a shiny, new set of coilovers and sway bars. The meaty brakes, tucked behind 19-inch, Rotiform wheels, come from Wilwood, while the cabin has been fitted with a pair of Sparco Chrono seats and five-point, Schroth harnesses.

FBI investigating recently fired Ford engineer for espionage

Fri, 25 Jul 2014

Agents of the FBI are investigating a potential case of industrial espionage involving a recently fired Ford employee. The Dearborn, MI-based manufacturer had its world headquarters searched by FBI agents on July 11, and according to The Detroit News, had warrants to seize recording devices handed over to Ford by Sharon Leach, a now-former Ford engineer.
Leach, who had spent 17 years with the Blue Oval, was fired last month, after Ford Security relieved her of eight Sansa listening devices. The FBI got involved shortly after her dismissal, searching her home on June 20 and seizing some two dozen items, including computers, jump drives and financial records, according to warrants obtained by The News.
Ford has remained quiet on the matter, with spokeswoman Susan Krusel confirming that the automaker was working with the FBI as part of a "joint investigation," while declining to provide any additional details.

Ford Mondeo with 1.5-liter EcoBoost debuts in China

Sat, 20 Apr 2013

Does the car above, posing fancifully in white, look familiar? Well, it should. Although it wears Mondeo badges in the form you see above for the Chinese market - as it does in Europe - the car is basically the same thing sold in the US as the Ford Fusion. Of course, it's what's under that shapely skin that counts.
Ford has chosen the Shanghai Motor Show as the venue with which to unveil its 1.5-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine. We'd heard about the engine before, but now we have a few performance estimates to share: 133 kW of power (about 178 horsepower) and 240 Nm of torque (about 177 pound-feet).
Those numbers pretty much confirm previous rumors indicating about 177 in each category, and it's right on par with what Ford's own 1.6-liter EcoBoost produces. Ford is claiming best-in-class fuel economy as well, but no specific figures have yet been provided. In any case, we'll surely have all the data soon enough, as the 1.5-liter mill is destined for the US Fusion in 2014.
