Hello! For sale is a 1992 5.0 LX Convertible Mustang with a standard, manual transmission and white leather interior. It has less than 26 thousand miles on it and a clear title. It was purchased at a local classic car dealership in Scottsdale, AZ with about 20 thousand miles. It is basically bone stock, with only an aluminum Mishimoto radiator replacement, gas shocks and six sets of polyeurethane bushings in place of the older rubber suspension components (including end links). The rest of the car's parts are all stock / oem / or Ford Racing components. The FR parts are B springs in place of the stock hi boys (included in the trunk with sale) and water pump (basically oem.)

This car is my daily driver. I have about 16 thousand in it in parts and maintenance, mostly because I'm a Mustang guy from way back. I had "likely old and wanting to be replaced" parts taken out of the car and replaced basically for the heck of it at purchase. The car has some plastic missing and a small dent on the rear driver's side, pictured, and the top is not latching without difficulty. It needs a new top, with hardware. The seats are a bit center cocked, but the carfax shows no wrecks. There is a center cap missing on one of the wheels. (It has new tires.)

Aside from age related wear that you might imagine, it's a fine running, reliable car. (Again, my daily.) It's all electric on the inside, except for the locks, and the radio works well.

I'm working a business with a partner and we need a retail spot, so the Mustang has to go. Offered at a low price of 9,750. The new owner won't be disappointed.

Thanks, William

2014 Ford Fiesta ST priced from $21,400* [w/poll]

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

The 2014 model year brings a whole host of changes to Ford's Fiesta B-Segment fighter, the most important of which (to our enthusiast eyes, anyway) is the addition of a potent new ST model. The US-spec hot hatch was first shown at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show last November, and thanks to Ford's build-and-price site, we've now learned that the Fiesta ST will slide in at $21,400 when it goes on sale later this year (*not including $795 for destination).
Under the hood of the ST is a turbocharged 1.6-liter EcoBoost inline-four good for 197 horsepower and 214 pound-feet of torque, mated solely to a six-speed manual transmission. Ford hasn't released performance data on its pint-sized puncher just yet, but know that these numbers make the Fiesta ST ever-so-slightly more powerful than the larger Volkswagen GTI while returning an estimated 34 miles per gallon on the highway.
Elsewhere in the lineup, the standard Fiesta also gets a smattering of improvements for the 2014 model year, including a new 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine and revised exterior styling. Pricing for the 2014 Fiesta sedan starts at $14,000, with the five-door model adding $600 to that number (again excluding the $795 destination fee).

Watch these Australian Ford and Holden muscle cars duke it out

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

Australia's Motoring has put together a little video on two of the great performance vehicles available down under - the Holden VF Commodore HSV GTS and the Ford Falcon FPV GT R-Spec. And while both FPV and the Falcon might be on their way out, there's still plenty of time for a little head-to-head comparison between the two.
The cars aren't all that well evenly matched, though. The Ford boasts a 5.0-liter, supercharged V8, which the Aussies measure out at 449 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. The HSV, though, with its Corvette-derived, 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 is just too powerful - 576 hp and 545 lb-ft of torque.
Predictably, it doesn't end too well for the Ford. As the guys from Motoring point out, the new VF Commodore is just too new and too good, with its extra power and its adaptive dampers (GM's excellent MagnaRide). Interestingly, Motoring did point out that the Holden's electric steering is better than the Ford's hydraulic steering, which is a lot like a Porsche purist saying they prefer water-cooled engines to air cooled.

Ford recalls 83k Taurus and crossover models for halfshaft issue

Fri, 15 Aug 2014

Ford and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have issued a recall for some 83,250 vehicles in the US, for an issue with halfshafts. More specifically a "halfshaft retention circlip" might not have been properly installed on affected vehicles, with the result being halfshafts that may move improperly or disengage completely from the linkshaft while driving. The NHTSA release also notes that the issue may occur "without prior warning" which obviously factors in to the timeliness of getting this checked.
Should the halfshaft disengage, a few troubling things could happen. If it occurs while driving, power from the engine will no longer be transmitted to the wheels. And, if the vehicle is parked without the parking brake applied after disengagement of the circlip, vehicles may roll away even if they're transmissions have been placed in "Park."
Affected vehicles are as follows: Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX crossovers from model years 2012 to 2014; Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKS sedans from model years 2013 to 2014; Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT vehicles from model years 2013 to 2014.
