THIS IS A NO RESERVE LISTING.

This is my 1986 Ford Mustang GT Convertible 5-speed with only 70,738 original miles.  This is a totally unmolested, stock vehicle.  This is very likely the nicest 1986 Mustang GT for sale in the country.

This car has just come out of one of the largest collections of vintage Fords in the country.  This collection is extremely private and exclusive, and consists of several hundred of the most important and significant Ford models from the 1920s to present.  I have made arrangements to buy this car out of this collection and it is a true collector's gem.  This car, as one of hundreds, has been stored in an air-conditioned and heated building for the past 20 years, while being driven occasionally and regularly maintained, serviced and exercised by a mechanic who goes through the collection of cars one by one on a full-time basis.

This car has the following factory equipment and options:

  • 5.0L fuel-injected High Output V8 engine
  • 5-speed manual transmission
  • leather seats
  • power windows and locks
  • original factory AM/FM cassette radio
  • A/C- works perfectly
  • power convertible top with boot
  • tilt steering wheel
  • foglights with correct covers
  • cruise control

The only way to describe this car is an all-stock museum-quality collector's piece.  This is probably the cleanest, finest-quality 1986 Mustang GT for sale in the county. This car carries the original interior, original convertible top, original exhaust, original aluminum wheels, etc.  This car has not been modified or altered in any way from stock condition other than the addition of a 140 mph speedometer by the original owner.  This car has been stored in a climate controlled facility and never exposed to sun, rain, salt, snow or any elements whatsoever.  The car has been part of the R**** collection for the past 20 years, but it has never been allowed to just "sit"- it has always been serviced and looked after.

This car starts, runs and drives perfectly.  It literally looks and drives like a new 1986 vehicle. The car is quiet, powerful, smooth and it handles and drives like a dream.

The paint and body are simply gorgeous.  The paint is Jalapeno Red paint and it looks outstanding.  The convertible top is original and in good condition.  There is no body rust, nor any exterior defects of any significance.

The wheels are the original aluminum-alloy wheels in excellent condition.  The tires are Goodyear Eagle VR60 "Gatorback" tires with very good tread.

The interior is all original and in very nice shape.  The seats are still firm and comfortable, and the carpets, upholstery and vinyl are excellent. The leather seats are in very good condition for being nearly 30 years old- they show only minor wear.

The underside of this car is exactly what you'd expect- superbly clean, pristine and gorgeous.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime find.  This car was literally pulled out of hiding, and brought out to be enjoyed by the next owner.  I cannot imagine you will find a nicer quality example for sale anywhere.

This car is kept inside my warehouse in Willoughby, OH.

You can fly in to Cleveland (CLE) and drive this car home if you wish.  Alternatively you can have the car shipped- for a quote please call Angels Moving Autos at 530 245 0481.

If you have questions, please call Richard at 216 389 7100.

Hot sales have Detroit automakers shortening summer shutdowns

Tue, 08 Jul 2014

Back in May, there was speculation that the Detroit Three automakers would maintain or perhaps even extend their traditional summer shutdowns, mostly due to a bitingly cold winter that saw below-freezing temperatures infiltrate the southernmost reaches of the US, putting a chill on auto sales. Now, though, the numbers are in, and thanks to some promising sales figures, it looks like some domestic line workers are going to be working clear through July, in some cases.
According to Automotive News, Ford has slashed its traditional two-week hiatus for factory workers in half at four of its plants, while both Chrysler and General Motors will keep factories running nonstop (two plants in Chrysler's case and a third of GM's factories).
This is, as we said, thanks to some positive numbers. Chief among those is the Seasonal Adjusted Annual Rate, which was at an eight-year high of 17 million units. Individual figures were less promising. GM, embroiled in its recall scandal, still saw a one-percent increase while Ford dropped six percent in year-over-year sales. Chrysler was the big winner, though, with a nine-percent jump in June.

Preposed class-action lawsuit targets 'defective' MyFord Touch

Tue, 16 Jul 2013

A national law firm, Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP, has filed a proposed class action lawsuit whose presupposition is that MyFord Touch is defective. Specifically, the complaint states that the system - as well as the MyLincoln Touch and MyMercury Touch clones - often freeze, fail to respond to voice or touch commands and have issues connecting to mobile phones.
According to Hagens Berman managing partner Steve Berman, MyFord Touch is a theoretically "brilliant idea" that falls short in actual execution. Said Berman in a press release, "In reality, the system is fundamentally flawed, failing to reliably provide functionality, amounting to an inconvenience at best, and a serious safety issue at worst."
Other MFT issues enumerated within the 41-page filing include problems controlling the window defroster, rear-view camera and navigation system. The suit maintains that Ford is aware of the problem but has yet to submit a workable and acceptable solution to MFT customers. Scroll down if you'd like to read the full press release.

Woman trades 1914 Model T in for 2013 Corvette

Wed, 17 Apr 2013

We're sure that dealers must see all sorts of interesting trade ins, but this one may take the cake. Red River Chevrolet in Bossier City, Louisiana, recently had a customer come in with an odd request. Tina Boyter wanted to trade in three vehicles on a brand-new 2013 Chevy Corvette. Among the hardware was 1980 Corvette, a 1978 Cadillac Eldorado and a 1914 Ford Model T. While the '80 Corvette had been her personal car for years, the '78 Eldorado had belonged to Boyter's mother before she traded up to a Lincoln. The big Caddy had just 10,290 miles on the clock when it was traded in.
And the Model T? Boyter says the car was built as a racer by Ford, and that it had been a show winner for years when it belonged to her father. But, after spending the last 16 years in a museum with its fluids drained, Boyter decided it was time to shed some of the past. She walked into the dealer, laid eyes on a white 2LT Corvette with a red interior and offered to trade all three of the vehicles in on the sports car.
Why not wait for the C7? "I fell in love with that one when I walked in the door," She said. We can't fault her there.
