I have owned this beautiful Grabber Blue 1970 Mach 1 for over 6 years. It's been driven to shows and loved, ever
since the car was delivered to me! Last summer I decided to seriously upgrade my Mustang to a Pro-Touring car. I
just completed this professionally built, one of a kind muscle machine and have logged approximately 100 flawless
miles.
Previously, the car lived in Arizona , has original body, no rust ever, original glass, rubber and trim in perfect
condition. Car was built with rare drag pack, it may be the only non-Boss or Cobra Jet Mustang produced. Also, has
some race history in the early 70's, then car was stored inside for 25+ years!
The engine is of unique design and build, with many custom made parts. Example: The custom made AFR heads will
support 1000 HP. The Crane cam was specially ground for this particular application. Engine parts alone, totaled in
excess of $20,000. The solid/hydraulic lifters are rated for 8500 RPM. The engine builder I have always used since
1971, is quite well know for it's excellent reputation, especially Ford engines! This 408 cu. in. Windsor stroker
is rated at 650 HP @7000 RPM ( conservatively rated ) and has 8-stack Electronic Fuel Injection throttle bodies.
The engine runs great on 91 Octane pump gas, and is very streetable at any RPM. Trans is a TKO 5-speed, with
hydraulic clutch and the 8500 RPM light weight fly-wheel allows for super quick revs. Total Control Products:
power rack & pinion with high RPM race pump, tilt steering column, totally adjustable tubular upper & lower control
arm with adjustable coil over springs and shocks, ect.

Ford taken to task by gov't for Chicken Tax end-around

Ford is in a bit of a pickle for importing and selling Turkey-built Transit Connect cargo vans as passenger vehicles in the US, then converting them to commercial-vehicle specification stateside in an effort to bypass a 25-percent tax imposed on vehicles imported for commercial use. Automakers are required to pay a 2.5-percent tax on imported passenger vehicles.
The Blue Oval got into trouble for this in a January ruling in which U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials asked Ford to stop the practice of importing the Transit Connect vehicles with passenger seats, then removing and shredding them. Now Automotive News reports that Ford is appealing the ruling. The 25-percent "Chicken Tax," as the tariff is often called, is 50 years old and was enacted as a response to a German tariff on chickens. Like Ford, Chrysler bypasses the higher tariff, but it does so in a different manner. It partially disassembles Sprinter cargo vans before shipping them to the US, then rebuilds them at a plant in South Carolina.
But the ruling against Ford's strategy states that it "serves no manufacturing or commercial purpose" and is there to "manipulate the tariff schedule," Automotive News reports. As Ford's appeal goes through, it is importing the Transit Connect and paying the higher tax, hoping for a favorable outcome and planning to build the next-generation Transit Connect, which it plans to launch before the end of the year, in Spain.

Ford profiles surprisingly affluent Focus ST buyers

It comes as no surprise when Ford says that 32-percent of Focus ST buyers are under 35, but we weren't expecting this: the average annual salary of Focus ST buyers is $127,000. Twenty-two percent of non-ST Focus buyers are under 35, while their average annual salary is $67,000.
We like the Focus ST because it has 252 horsepower, is genuinely fun to drive and offers great value for performance-minded car enthusiasts; facts that are not lost on customers, it seems. Ford says that the Focus ST has the highest percentage of conquest sales for a non-hybrid model it sells, and that the top-four trade-ins are from Honda, Chevrolet, Mazda and Toyota. Demand for the hot Focus is strongest in Los Angeles, Detroit, Houston and Orlando.
"[The Focus ST is] having this kind of halo effect for other vehicles we'd hoped for when we invested in the ST brand," says John Felice, vice president of US marketing, sales and service, because it's helping to boost sales of other Ford vehicles.

Ford reports $3B profit in Q4, $6.9B for the year

Good news out of Dearborn today, as Ford announced $3 billion in profit for the last quarter of 2013, a 90-percent increase over the same period of 2012. Net income for all of last year, meanwhile, jumped to $7.2 billion from $5.7 billion in 2012, while pre-tax profits sat at a decade-topping $6.9 billion for all of 2013.
The results of the substantial profit increases are bigger profit-sharing checks for UAW employees. How big? A record $8,800 on average for 47,000 UAW workers, making 2013 the biggest year for profit sharing in Ford history. In total, $414 million will be paid as part of the profit-sharing scheme.
Now, it should be pointed out that a fair portion of Ford's Q4 profits were due to tax benefits, totaling $2.1 billion, according to Automotive News. Total profits would have also been higher, had there not been a significant recall on the Escape, as well as plant issues in South America.
