Although it has had new quarter panels, new floorboards and a new hood, the entire rest of the body is all original
Ford sheet metal that was in great shape. It is completely restored to its original Wimbleton white color with blue
interior which is completely reupholstered and new.
It has new magnum 500 wheels along with new 15 inch tires. It has a new fuel tank, new fuel lines, new brake lines,
all new brakes front and rear, new wheel cylinders, new calipers and rotors, all new brake hoses, New upper and
lower control arms, all new bushings, new strut bushings, new swaybar bushings, New shocks, new dual exhaust, New
front and rear spoilers, new chrome moldings, new bumpers, new carpet, new seat upholstery with new seat foam, New
door panels, new dash, reconditioned gauges, new headliner, new package tray, all new weatherstrip, and all
reconditioned wiring.
It also has an original 351 Cleveland 4-V engine along with a four-speed Toploader transmission and hurst shifter.
The engine has had all new gaskets, new timing chain, new oil pump and screen, new intake, new elder Brock
carburetor, New aluminum radiator, new battery, new belts, new alternator, starter, flywheel, new clutch, pressure
plate and throwout bearing, New U-joints in the driveshaft, reconditioned rear end, New radiator hoses, new fuel
hoses, reconditioned wiring in the engine compartment, all new lightbulbs, everything works and runs and drives
great.
This car has been taken down to bare metal, it has been prep and prime or three times, then it was sprayed with PPG
base coat and then for coats of clear coat were added to that. It has been wet sanded and buffed to a smooth glass
Lustre. The doors, hood and trunk Open and close perfectly in the body gaps are near perfect.
This car sounds absolutely superb, and it is a fast car!!!

Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line
Wed, 05 Jan 2011The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.

Mustang GT350 reveal coming Nov 17?
Mon, 03 Nov 2014Ford looks to have something really big planned for the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. The Blue Oval has released the first of five teaser videos on the brand's performance heritage, and aside from some great images of racers over the years, the video includes a series of teaser images, the last of which points to November 17, 2014.
That's the day before press days open in LA, and considering the propensity of global automakers to plan lavish debuts the night before a major international auto show, it's a virtual certainty that Ford will be showing off some sort of special vehicle.
That'd be news in and of itself, but based on the images shown in Ford's teaser video - which include an Alcantara steering wheel, a "Powered by Ford" valve cover, aluminum pedals, sticky tires, a big, round exhaust tip, a honeycomb grille and a serious set of wheels - it seems very likely that Ford will be showing something performance oriented.

Tue, 23 Apr 2013Just a few months ago, fan safety at racetracks was a hot topic following the last-lap NASCAR Nationwide Series crash at Daytona that sent large pieces of racecars into the grandstands injuring 33 fans. Now, a freak incident at a National Hot Rod Association event resulted in a drag racer's bodywork flying into the crowd at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Charlotte over the weekend. The carbon-fiber body of Robert Hight's Ford Mustang funny car blew off toward the end of a run when his engine exploded, but fortunately, the two fans evaluated after the incident were later released without serious injury.
As you can see in the image above, the body flew high into the air before landing on a walkway in front of the grandstands, a bit of happenstance that likely gave most fans enough time and space to move out of the way.
