1969 mach1 s code, auto, p/s, ac car.   Power steering is no longer on the car, it has a manual conversion kit installed.   Ac I not installed on vehicle either, do have the compressor and condenser for the car, both would need rebuilt.  Car was painted 6 years ago.  At that time the hood, trunk and complete doors were installed, along with the louvers.  Seats were recovered when the car was painted.   Engine and trans have both been rebuilt.   Brakes have recently been gone through as well.   Car is in great mechanical condition and will drive anywhere.   Has cragar wheels with bfg radial ta tires,  do have the original 14" steel styled wheels that go with it.  At sometime the cluster was replaced so I can not give you actual mileage.    The bad:  dash pad cracked at speaker location,  both door panels have cracks near door handles,  can see the lead lines on the c pillars, fuel has been spilled when refueling and the paint has peeled showing primer in a small spot behind bumper, and just like all mustangs the cowl hats have rusted and the previous owner just welded them closed.   Included pics of lead lines on c pillars, paint behind bumper, door panels and dash pad.    Asking a 500 dollar deposit within 3 days of  purchase.   Buyer is responsible for shipping.

Ford using robot drivers to test durability [w/video]

Sun, 16 Jun 2013

In testing the durability of its upcoming fullsize Transit vans, Ford has begun using autonomous robotic technology to pilot vehicles through the punishing courses of its Michigan Proving Grounds test facility. The autonomous tech allows Ford to run more durability tests in a single day than it could with human drivers, as well as create even more challenging tests that wouldn't be safe to run with a human behind the wheel.
The technology being used was developed by Utah-based Autonomous Solutions, and isn't quite like the totally autonomous vehicles being developed by companies like Google and Audi for use out in the real world. Rather, Ford's autonomous test vehicles follow a pre-programmed course and their position is tracked via GPS and cameras that are being monitored from a central control room. Though the route is predetermined, the robotic control module operates the steering, acceleration and braking to keep the vehicle on course as it drives over broken concrete, cobblestones, metal grates, rough gravel, mud pits and oversize speed bumps.
Scroll down to watch the robotic drivers in action, though be warned that you're headed for disappointment if you expect to see a Centurion behind the wheel (nerd alert!). The setup looks more like a Mythbusters experiment than a scene from Battlestar Galactica.

Roush getting back into sport compact business with Focus ST mods [w/video]

Wed, 29 May 2013

Roush Performance offers a whole raft of parts for folks looking to tune their Ford Mustang and F-150 models, and now Focus owners can start getting in on the hotted-up action, too. Owners of the 2012-13 Focus and 2013 Focus ST can now get a Roush cold-air intake system, and ST owners can also opt for a high-performance cat-back exhaust.
Although all of these components are now available for order, the parts will ship sometime in July; no word yet on pricing. Down the road, Roush will also offer styling upgrades for the Focus as well as performance tuning upgrades such as engine controller, suspension, wheels and tires. Scroll down for a quick video of what the Focus ST exhaust sounds like, as well as a Roush press release.

Ford's Galhotra succeeds Farley as head of Lincoln

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

Ford Motor Company is announcing a major personnel shakeup that could have a dramatic effect on the future of the Lincoln division. Kumar Galhotra (pictured above), currently vice president of engineering at Ford for all of its vehicles worldwide, is taking over as the president of the luxury brand on September 1, replacing Jim Farley. The automaker is also hiring a new head of advanced engineering.
Galhotra has a huge job ahead of him as the new boss of Lincoln worldwide, overseeing product development, marketing, sales and service. His task is to turn the luxury division into a world-class brand as quickly as possible, and he reports directly to Ford President and CEO Mark Fields.
"These changes underscore our commitment to build on the success of our One Ford plan by accelerating our pace of progress. They also make clear we are serious about Lincoln as a world-class luxury brand and that product excellence and innovation are what will deliver growth and define our entire company going forward," said Fields in the company's announcement.
