This is a NO RESERVE auction. The car is a sweet running car with a rebuilt 302 in it with less than 1000 miles on the motor. New clutch and pressure plate as well hooked to this new tremic 5 speed trans that shifts great. The car sounds great and runs and shifts great. The body is in fair shape some has put rear quarters on the car and done some other work on the body. The torque boxs are solid as are the front and rear frame rails. Under the hood the metal is all solid the only rust I found was the drivers floor board and passenger rear floor board underside but just the bottom metal the upper metal is solid no holes, easy fix. The rear inner quarters have rust holes again easy fix, the doors have some bubbling thats it. The car needs body work and paint buts its fine if you want to just drive it around and go to the local shows with it. The interior has a dash cap. and the seats need recoverd, othe than that the intirior is fine. The tires and rims are new. The car is a blast to drive and I get complements everytime I take it out. The car is nicer than what I make it out to be. Any ? please call 419-571-9777

Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line
Wed, 05 Jan 2011The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.

Ford to auction Mustang Cobra Jet prototype for charity [w/video]
Mon, 16 Sep 2013Prototypes developed by major automakers typically remain in said company's custody, but every once in a while, one trickles out into private hands. And that's just what we have here. Ford is donating a one-of-a-kind factory prototype for the 2014 Mustang Cobra Jet that will be auctioned off later this month by Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Powered by a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 mated to a T4 competition gearbox, this rare Cobra Jet prototype includes a wheelie bar, chromoly roll cage, Weld wheels, three-link rear suspension, racing brakes, 9-inch rear axle and more. It's painted in a unique satin orange with reflective gray striping scheme, bears the serial number 2014 BJMS CJXX1 and is fully ready for NHRA competition on the drag strip.
To be offered with no reserve on Saturday, September 28, 2013, the Cobra Jet prototype's winning bidder will also receive tutelage at Roy Hill's Drag Racing School in Sophia, NC, along with tours of the Ford Product Development Center, Ford Racing headquarters and Ford Design Studios with Mustang chief engineer Dave Pericak. Scope out the video and details below for what could be the ultimate Mustang experience for a good cause.

They're pretty darn similar. And yet our views are oh so different.
If you guys could read the transcripts of our editors' chat room, you'd know that we're a pretty argumentative bunch. It's always good-spirited stuff (well, usually), but when we're not obsessively covering this or that, we're usually fighting about one car being better than another. We're all enthusiasts here, and our automotive tastes run the gamut from the weird and unusual to the decidedly mainstream - we all feel strongly about specific cars in a given segment. While it usually makes for good conversation, if we're passionate enough, it can turn into a tomato-throwing showdown.
