1967 Mustang GT, S code, convertible, bench seat, A/C, P/S, Disc/B, P/top, competition handing package, "tilt away"
steering wheel, limited slip diff, One of One (see Marti Report).
This Mustang presently has a 289 4V and C4 transmission, runs and drives great, winning awards at car shows. I'm
not sure why engine conversion was done, but it was done very clean. In the past year I have purchased many hard to
find parts to restore this Mustang to its original glory. Fresh date coded (Dec 1966) 390 335hp engine, car was
built March 2,1967, top loader 4spd RUG-M, exhaust manifolds, drive shaft, bell housing, flywheel, fan, motor
mounts, clutch petal, Hurst shifter parts. All go with the car.
390 engine has been professionally built to factory (.30 over) using only high quality components and machine work,
4spd trans may need synchronizes. Drivers side exh manifold has a broken bolt tab that is repairable. Color is
originally Lime Gold. Windows work well, but could use adjustment for better fit. Power top works as it should
with no oil leaks. Top clamps are excellent, exterior of top is excellent, inside of top shows some wear.
Undercarriage and truck are in good condition only having some surface rust. Interior, seats, carpet, dash is in
excellent condition. All body panels seem to be original except front fenders, but car shows no signs of being in
an accident. Car had one own in Alabama for the last 40 years. I have the car in Louisiana for one year.
This is the very interesting history on this very rare Mustang. Car was built in San Jose, CA and delivered to a
Ford executive at Ford Motor Co Aeronautic Division in Newport Beach, CA. This had to be an interesting person to
order this rare Mustang with these unique options, making this Mustang One of One.
As with any car you buy, a full inspection should be done before buying. I have discribed the car fairly and to the
best of my ability.

Ken Block and friends race light in silly-beautiful Castrol commercial

Wed, 28 May 2014

How does one make fast, loud, drifting cars better? Well, you can add more fast, loud, drifting cars or you can add lasers. Either or, really. In this case, Castrol did the right thing and added both, creating a highly stylized commercial for its Edge Titanium motor oil starring South African racer Adrian Zaugg, BMW factory driver Augusto Farfus, Audi DTM and Le Mans staple Mike Rockenfeller and some bloke named Ken Block.
Their cars? No surprise, but Block is in his Ford Fiesta GRC, while Zaugg samples a Lamborghini Aventador and Farfus and Rockenfeller drive along party lines, with a BMW M4 and an Audi R8, respectively. And those cars look good, too, thanks to the creative light and laser work on display.
Take a look below for the video from Castrol.

Ford won't be releasing GT500 lap times for the 'Ring, or any other car

Wed, 27 Nov 2013

Trucks have towing capacity, EVs have driving range and performance cars have Nürburgring lap times. What do all three have in common? They should all be taken with a grain of salt. Currently, there is no sanctioned way to record lap times or verify production-spec cars - a lesson we recently learned with the 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo - and until there is a way to do so (and there probably never will be), we'll never officially know the actual time it took for Ford to lap the 'Ring with its ultra-powerful Shelby GT500.
After posting a Ford-made video of a 2013 GT500 running around the 'Ring, the guys over at SVTPerformance.com (an enthusiasts forum not affiliated with Ford or SVT) wanted more answers. They got in touch with Ford's Global Performance Vehicle Chief Engineer Jamal Hameedi, who said until there is a way to verify the times and inspect the cars, Ford will not get involved with lap-time wars. In the email, Hameedi pointed out that the 'Ring is a useful tool in that it allows a wide spectrum of track conditions, but until there is a governed way to record times, there is no way to accurately compare cars head-to-head.
And as much as some may not like it, Hameedi speaks the truth. It really isn't possible to compare times from one car to another, unless those cars were lapping the same track at the same time with the same driver. Not that any of this means there won't be continuous wars by fans and manufacturers alike... in other words, feel free to voice your opinions in the Comments below.

Project Ugly Horse: Part VIII

Fri, 17 May 2013

Now With More EcoBoost
There's an EcoBoost 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder in there somewhere, and it's headed straight for Ugly Horse.
For the second time in my life, I'm staring at an engine in the back of a truck with no concept of how to get it safely into the garage by my lonesome. The first time this happened, I dragged home a $300 International 345 V8 in the back of my Scout Terra only to discover that the bounds of my manliness terminated well before my ability to muscle that 800-pound cast iron block out of the pickup bed.
