1966 Ford Mustang

White Exterior - Red Interior

Original One-Owner California Car - purchased at Tuttle Ford in SoCal and 11 years in storage in northern California.

Car has been well maintained by original owner, but was not a garage queen, it has its bumps and scrapes.
It is rust free or low rust in those critical places (like under vent cowling)
So it is an easy restoration project to show condition.

  • Mechanical is very good condition, original, even has original smog pump.
  • Exterior has scrapes, dings and dents, but solid looking (typical California car nearly rust free condition)
  • Interior was restored a few years ago and looks great.

Aftermarket radio installed, but original radio included.

Exact mileage unknown, my friend is sure the odometer has rolled over at least once.

Note- this is car belongs to of a friend of mine who has asked me to post it on ebay for her, but I have driven it and taken the photos. - and the descriptions are my opinions.  The car really is mechanically quite good.  Starts immediately. VERY solid feel, you would not guess mileage from driving car.

+++ The car is available for viewing and test driving at Wheels and Deals in Santa Clara +++
(( 3035 El Camino Real  Santa Clara, CA 95051 ))

Deposit required within 48 hours of auction end.
All financial/paperwork required to be complete within 5 days of auction end.
(so please be prepared to purchase the car by auction end, not just start to talk to your credit union)

Thank You.

Ford to announce Mulally retirement, Fields CEO as early as May 1

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

Ford CEO Alan Mulally may be about to announce his long-rumored retirement from the Blue Oval, according to a pair of insiders who spoke to Bloomberg. An official statement on the succession could arrive as soon as May 1. Chief Operating Officer Mark Fields is rumored to step up as the new CEO. The company is said to be readying the announcement soon to ensure an orderly transition of power, according to the insiders.
Mulally's retirement from Ford has been a hot topic for a while. He was seriously rumored last year to be leaving the automaker to take over as the CEO of Microsoft. The board even said at one point that it was okay with them if he stepped down early. However, the CEO maintained he would stay with the business through at least the end of 2014. Fields has been rumored as a frontrunner to take over the top spot at the company since he was promoted to COO.
For the moment, Ford isn't officially confirming any of these plans. "We don't comment on speculation. We do have succession plans in place for our key leadership. We take succession planning very seriously," said Susan Krusel, Ford Global News Manager, to Autoblog.

What's in a trademark? Sometimes, the next iconic car name

Thu, 07 Aug 2014

The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a treasure trove for auto enthusiasts, especially those who double as conspiracy theorists.
Why has Toyota applied to trademark "Supra," the name of one of its legendary sports cars, even though it hasn't sold one in the United States in 16 years? Why would General Motors continue to register "Chevelle" long after one of the most famous American muscle cars hit the end of the road? And what could Chrysler possibly do with the rights to "313," the area code for Detroit?

Hear the 2015 Mustang GT V8 roar for the first time

Wed, 26 Jun 2013

Our combined knowledge of the 2015 Ford Mustang continues to deepen, as spy shooters have begun to compile video and audio of the upcoming sixth-generation car.
Case in point is this latest series of video clips, which not only gives us a great vantage point of the Mustang in motion, but also allows us to hear the Ford V8 engine and exhaust. After perusing the aural delights of this short video, which, admittedly, doesn't catch the Mustang GT at full song, we can at least say that the throaty exhaust isn't disappointing.
Chances are good that the 2015 Mustang GT will debut with some version of the current (and excellent) Coyote 5.0-liter V8 engine, though we're unclear as to whether or not the motor has been massaged for its next-gen debut, or what may have been done to exhaust plumbing. At this point, we're just happy to hear the pony run. Scroll below to hear for yourself.
