1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 289 V8 Fully restored. Show and Go!
Professionally restored in 2009. The car was rust free and only needed a cosmetic restoration which was done to a
very high standard.
This classic can be driven, enjoyed and has brought home its share of trophies at the local car shows.
Runs fantastic, handles great, and does not have any of the typical rattles of the older ponies.
The overall paint quality is excellent and the car has a great stance. Their is a small paint crack on the
passenger side below the rear glass where the roof begins to curve which is quite common. Other then perhaps a tiny
paint chip or two I believe you will find the body to be show ready.
The rear valance was changed to accommodate the GT style dual trumpet exhaust. Chrome trim, bumpers and glass all
look excellent and the windows roll up and down nicely.
The entire interior looks fantastic and everything works.
A custom Auto Sound Digital AM/FM with a satellite dock was installed in the original radio spot and speakers were
neatly placed into the front kick panels.
The car has the original C-code 289 V8 slightly dressed up with chrome valve covers and air cleaner.
Nicely upgraded to an Edelbrock Preformer 289 Intake and 4bbl carburetor. A nice set of headers was also added and
this car truly preforms like an A-Code 289 would. It pulls very strong and drives very smooth.
Front suspension was redone and although it is manual steering it is a breeze to steer and drives nice and
straight.
Radiator was replaced and it runs nice and cool.
The original door tag (will come with the car) was removed when the car was restored and replaced with a
reproduction door tag that shows the current color. The original vin # stamping is present on the drivers side
inner fender.
The inside of the trunk is nicely detailed and rock solid.
Floor pans and frame rails are in fantastic condition and were lightly undercoated at the time of the restoration.

Vaughn Gittin Jr. takes his dog for a drift

Tue, 09 Sep 2014

Vaughn Gittin Jr. spends a great deal of his workday going sideways, but he's usually alone in the endeavor. For a guy that is clearly a dog lover, we imagine that can get a bit lonely.
That won't be a problem for Gittin in this latest video, which features the racer hanging out with his good pal Brody (a dog) and everyone's favorite hot hatch, the Ford Fiesta ST.

Ford Australia reveals updated Territory, Falcon via Twitter

Mon, 28 Jul 2014

Ford may have tied together much of its global lineup under the One Ford campaign, but one market where it still offers unique products is Australia. That will soon draw to a close as well, but before it does, the Blue Oval's Aussie operations are rolling out refreshed versions of its two unique products. For the moment, Ford isn't revealing much in the way of powertrain details, but it has shown off a couple of snaps of the revised products on its in-market Twitter feed.
First up is the new Territory. The SUV is neither based on a front-drive crossover platform nor on a truck frame, but shares its rear-drive underpinnings with the Falcon, taking it a step beyond the Falcon wagon alongside which it sits in Ford's Aussie range. Like the outgoing third-generation SZ Territory, the facelifted version is dominated by a narrow grille and larger front air dam, but further punctuates its big-chinned look with more rugged lower cladding and other metallic inserts that bring its look up to date.
And there's the Falcon, which Ford revealed in XR8 trim just last week and is now presenting in G6E spec. If the XR8 is the performance model, the G6E is the luxury version, swapping in more refined trim like a chrome-slat grille (instead of a black honeycomb), chrome foglamp surrounds, less-aggressive multi-spoke wheels (instead of five-spokes) and a flatter hood (instead of a power bulge). Otherwise, it looks essentially the same as the one we saw last week, its facelift bringing it more in line with the smaller, front-drive Mondeo (which we know here as the Fusion) and other members of the Ford family.

Focus ST diesel variant coming, just don't look for it here

Fri, 07 Mar 2014

A few years back, Volkswagen made some waves when it announced the Golf GTD - a diesel-powered car that, aside from its ultra-efficient, ultra-torquey engine, was identical to the gas-powered GTI. That meant cosseting sport seats, larger wheels, sportier suspension, larger brakes and a body kit that made the GTD indistinguishable from the GTI, except for the three little letters on the back and in the grille.
Now, Ford is looking to replicate VW's success, with a diesel version of the Focus ST. According to Motor Trend, the diesel-powered ST will use a 2.0-liter, 182-horsepower four-cylinder. With an unspecified amount of torque on offer (we'd guess around 280 pound-feet), the diesel hot hatch should hit 62 miles per hour in about eight seconds.
The report, which originally comes from Auto Express, claims the ST Diesel was confirmed by Ford Chief Marketing Officer Mark Fields during this week's Geneva Motor Show. Not surprisingly, it doesn't appear there are any plans to bring a diesel-powered Focus of any kind to the US, let alone one that uses the suspension, steering and other items from the ST. Of course, if there's an official confirmation from Ford, we'll be sure to report on it.
