You are bidding on a 1929 Ford Model A Standard Roadster we have owned since 2008.  It was a barn find, restored from 1976 to 1978.  We have all the receipts, over  $20,000.00 worth and photos including the car in front of the barn.  It is a VERY correct restoration. The tires are 5 years old and it has a new correct battery and LeBaron Bonney interior.  It is registered with the correct license plates and comes with the tools.  It was awarded best Vintage at The Pacific Grove Concours Rally in 2008, and class winner at car shows in 2009, 2011 and 2013.  We had also been accepted and shown at the Marin, Palo Alto and Hillsborough Concours D'Elegances.  It is in perfect mechanical shape and needs nothing.  The Speedometer was broken and has been rebuilt with a new cable, so I don't know the true milage.  The paint is chipped on the hood and left front fender.  There is a crack and chip in the paint on the right rear fender.  There is a chip in both doors near the handle and some around the opening to the rumble seat. There is a crack in the lower left corner of the windshield and some cracks in the road wheel hubs.  These are all minor signs of wear and tear.  The windshield wiper is sluggish. We do not have any of the side curtinsYou won't be afraid to drive her around or have your Granchildren enjoy riding in her.  The car does come with some spare parts, shop manual and an 8 volume set of How to Restore your Model A.  If you have any questions don't hesitate to call or e-mail.  My cell is 510-414-4953, my name is Ken, e-mail gogiantks@aol.com

Mustang-themed pinball game debuting in Chicago [w/video]

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

Believe it or not, but new pinball machines are still being made. Chicago-based Stern Pinball still makes them and has found a niche selling modern machines to individual buyers and arcade distributors. For its latest cabinet, Stern partnered with Ford to create a pinball game that pays homage to the 50th anniversary of the Mustang, including the next generation. The new machine is being unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show on February 6 and goes on sale in March.
Stern is offering the machine in three variants. The pro-level machine is meant for arcades and public spaces and retails for $4,995. All of them come with background and cabinet art by Camilo Pardo, who designed the Ford GT, and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust is the game's announcer. Depending on where players shoot the ball, they activate events that simulate drag racing, rallying, drifting and racing the Mustang, and hitting targets lets players shift the gears up and down.
An upgraded, premium table with added art will be added later for pinball machine collectors. The third model is a signed, special edition with art of the 1965 Mustang and 2015 Mustang on the machine and chrome and Mustang badges on the speaker grilles. Prices for these editions will be announced later.

American automakers fall in latest Fortune 500 rankings

Fri, 10 May 2013

Not that it means anything beyond bragging rights, but if you're fixated on the positions of domestic automakers on the annual Fortune 500 list, both General Motors and Ford are still on it but they've slipped a couple of notches. The list ranks American companies and they're ordered solely by revenue. GM, fifth last year, came in seventh, while Ford fell from ninth to tenth even though both companies saw small gains in annual revenue.
GM's $152.3 billion in revenue was less than a third of that of the first company on the list: Wal-Mart, which regained the title from Exxon Mobil. Berkshire Hathaway and Apple are the firms that moved GM down. Ford, displaced by energy company Valero, had $134.3 billion in revenue.
On a side note, profitability isn't a factor, but both GM and Ford were down in this year's list compared to last year's: GM declined from $9.2 billion to $6.2 billion, Ford fell from $20.2 billion to $5.6 billion. If profits were included, Exxon Mobil would probably still be king: although the energy company made almost $20 billion less in revenue than Wal-Mart's $469.2 billion, it posted $44.9 billion in profit compared to Wal-Mart's $17 billion.

Chrysler called out over lackluster Ram Runner by racer who helped develop it

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

Fans of off-roading and desert blasting might recall that Chrysler offers an aftermarket conversion that can turn a Ram 1500 into a road-legal desert racer, called the Ram Runner. The kit, sold through Mopar, includes some significant suspension upgrades, body tweaks and a brawnier cat-back exhaust for the truck's 5.7-liter V8.
Considering all of this, comparisons with the almighty Ford F-150 SVT Raptor are common. Among the off-road community, that makes these two a sort of Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang for people that prefer driving on dirt. In the Race-Dezert forum, the discussion as to which truck was better was proceeding as normal - Ram fans said their piece and Ford fans said theirs. Then, a man named Kent Kroeker offered up his two cents.
See, Kroeker is a Baja racer, and the man that helped develop the Ram Runner. Despite his association with the truck, though, he had some less than kind words for Chrysler and the Ram Runner.
