Hi,

Up for auction is my 1932 Roadster.  It is built to replicate the show cars of 1959-1962.  This car was built by me, for me, between October 2011 and May 2013.  Everything except for the final paint and clear was done by me so ask any tech questions you want.  If it helps, I also run a business building cars and motorcycles for people.  Here goes.

I started with a fiberglass 1932 Ford Roadster body from Carl Cain at Cain’s Hot Rods in New York.  The doors and deck lid  were properly gapped and electric poppers added before being set on a fully custom frame.  The fenders were also shown some custom treatment with the entire lip around the end being shaved.  This trick adds some individuality.  White pleated material covers the running boards.  Note the door knob grille, a nod to the early 60's cars of the day.  Also, check out the "Moon" style tank, lack of a headlight bar, and white running gear.  All early 60's.  Paint is a PPG Waterbourne color that will only be disclosed to the winning bidder.

The frame started with ASC Rails that were fully boxed.  Hidden behind the boxing plates are the brake lines, fuel lines, wiring, etc.  Very neat, very clean!  A modified front cross member was added as were custom center and rear cross members.  I also built the front radius rods and rear truck arm suspension to keep the axles in place.  The front axle is a dropped and drilled Super Bell unit.  TCI Front Discs handle the stopping along with rear Drums.  These are linked to a GM Master cylinder hidden under the dash.  The rear axle is a 10 bolt Chevy with a 3.73 ratio open center section being turned by a custom built drive shaft.  The same company that built the driveshaft performed the setup on the rear axle.  It was taken apart, sandblasted, and re-assembled to assure everything was kosher.  All the weight is supported on the chrome smoothies and Coker Wide Whites.  Bullet lugnuts finish the details on the wheels.

A Tanks gas tank holds 16 gallons and provides the juice for the 305 Chevy and TH350 via copper tubing, a chrome fuel pressure regulator, and a pressure gauge.  The fuel line is finished with period correct red fuel line.  An Edelbrock 600 Electric Choke finishes feeding the fuel thru an Edelbrock Endurashine Intake.  The engine was examined and re-assembled as part of the building process adding a new timing set, new oil pump, ignition, etc.  The transmission was completely rebuilt including a new converter and a B&M shift kit.  Liberal amounts of Chrome and Polished Aluminum were used throughout the drivetrain.  If anyone cares, it gets around 14-15 MPG on the highway.

An aluminum radiator and electric fan cool the engine and hide behind a ’32 grille with a door pull center section.  This engine runs as cool as a cucumber in all instances.  The 195* thermostat provides optimal operating temperature and is consistent no matter the outside temperature.  The radiator is supported by stainless Vintique radiator support rods.

The exhaust goes thru the custom built lakes headers.  There are baffles inside the collector pipe to provide a nice mellow tone.  Not too loud but worthy of a hot rod!

The interior was done by me in a white rolled and pleated design.  The seat is from a '30 Model A Coupe.  The gauges are from BWD (Borg Warner).  The speedo is a 60's Stewart Warner and is not hooked up.  I always use the tach as a speedo anyway and with GPS, who really cares??  The steering column has a removable steering wheel and 2:1 quickener.  With a light as the car is, it turns easy.  The column connects to Borgeson and Sweet U-Joints and a new Vega box.  The trunk is finished in the same rolled and pleated design.  Under the dash, there are 3 12V power supplies (cigarette lighters) for your GPS, cell phone charger, DVD player, whatever you want.  The trunk and under dash also each have a courtesy light.

The car is currently licensed, registered, and insured in the State of Iowa as a 1932 under the SEMA law.  Ask questions and as always, happy bidding.  In the spirit of eBay, I will not consider any trades.

Ford F-150 Tremor to pace NASCAR Truck Series this weekend

Wed, 14 Aug 2013

Ford's bro-tastic F-150 Tremor will be pacing this weekend's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Michigan International Speedway. The Tremor fills a gap in the Ford F-Series lineup that we imagine the NASCAR set have clamored for - a hot-rod pickup truck.
Where the F-150 Raptor is designed to go quick on anything, the Tremor and its 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 are designed to tackle the road. The 365-horsepower and 420-pound-foot EcoBoost is unchanged from the rest of the F-150 line, but it combines the shortest drive ratio with the lightest two-door body, making it a bit of hot rod.
Ford will be offering hot laps with Michigan native Brad Keselowski behind the wheel of the Tremor for fans that arrive in the Irish Hills on August 14. The main showing for the new pickup will be the August 17 race, though, when it'll lead the field at the start of the race and through cautions.

Bill Ford wins National Pond Hockey Championship with employees

Tue, 11 Feb 2014

Who says executives aren't people? This past weekend, Bill Ford, executive chairman of Ford Motor Company, and a group of employees trekked up to Eagle River, WI for a few games of pond hockey. Team Ford took part in the 2014 Labatt Blue/USA Pond Hockey Championship, capturing its fifth title in the 50+ Tier 1 Division.
"It feels great to win," Ford, who plays on the team alongside other Ford employees, told the USA Hockey website. "It was fun to play [River Valley Pioneers] because they're great guys and we play them every year. We finally beat them, which we were due. It was a very clean game, a tough game."
The FoMoCo team managed to score seven goals to River Valley's two, and went undefeated in all five of its games during the tourney. Take a look below for the official press release on Team Ford's win.

This unique '64 Mustang was Edsel Ford II's first car

Thu, 02 Jan 2014

You probably had the same dream when you were a teenager. Your sixteenth birthday is coming up, or Christmas, or maybe both, and all you want is a muscle car to call your own. That dream has come true for some, and one of them was none other than Edsel Ford II.
Henry Ford's great grandson turned 16 on December 27, 1964 - two days after Christmas and eight months after the original Mustang went on sale. And that's just what was waiting for him in the driveway, courtesy of his father (and reigning chief executive) Henry Ford II.
The specially-prepared pony car had a pearlescent cream paintjob with narrow blue racing stripes, functional hood scoop, chrome trim, Euro-spec fender-mounted mirrors, a blue leather and aluminum interior, a monogrammed fuel cap... and a 289-cubic-inch V8 under the hood.
